  You can get something as basic tools work the same, but the tools can be located in different places and not all the features of Photoshop translate into Photoshop Elements.  If it is an expensive course, I would try to get a refund.   If it's free, you have nothing but time to lose.

  Normally, I shoot with the 7dmarki and have never had any problems.  After troubleshooting my error message 'cannot open IMG1111 because it's the wrong file type', only the options have been updated plugin raw from the camera, to buy the latest version or uninstall and reinstall.  First train to the plugin to update because it was a leased device.  Thanks again!

  Thanks MichelBParis!  I didn't see where he said to 12 items.  I downloaded the free DNG Converter last night and not had much luck.  It is not recognizing that I have all files in the folder at all.  Don't know what I'm doing wrong!

  Thank you very much for your answers. As you suggest, I went to the help/updates and found that 3 points were scored update, Manager, 13 Photoshop and first elements 13 elements. On a hunch, instead uncheck one of them, I thought I'd see what would happen to let update all 3. It took a while, but, long story short, stopped the happy Vangogh and everything seems fine.   Your camera would need ACR version 9 which is not supported by 12 elements.

  You can:

  -upgrade to 13 items, with updates of version 13.1.1

  - or use the free DNGconverter mentionned in the links at the bottom of this faq. You'll be able set of entire folders to convert your raw files to DNG PSE12 can read and modify.

  You would have to buy PSE13 to do the same thing. PSE8 cannot be updated.
