I have 2 HDs again to add to PC - where they help the most?

I recently purchased 2 new hard drives (1 TB SAMSUNG F1) which correspond to the ones I currently use in my Intel core i7 PC running Windows 7.  I wonder where these new HDs will make me the most good, in the performance measurement and in view of future growth, etc. 90% of my work is in 1080i about 130Mbps Oh yes, I'm on a budget, so please do not say I buy 10 additional disks, and a RAID card high-end ;-)  FYI, I currently use the motherboard Intel RAID controller... I know - I'd like to buy a real RAID card!

Here's my current installation of HD-total of 4 Samsung 1 TB 7200 RPM of F1:

Drive c: OS and applications

2 the d: drive RAID0 - I have this set to 'taken' within each project agency. I also send media encoder renders here because the source files are made for most of the files on the e drive. More often, I want to save these encodes as well as capture files.

Drive e: "render player" - target for the preview of the BODY makes, caches (including Cineform renders)

* I realize account the rift with top now - since I use the Cineform CODEC for most changes, almost every clip ends up having to be made, in order to make my poor solo disc is doing more work and play more high flow of files then my capture table. (I may or may not get a capture at this point card)

* the other issue that comes into play here is that the files must be stored and backed up and what readers can regularly be restriped. My short time with the ORGANIZATION, it seems no body preview or file cache should be saved or backed up... just capture and all media files encoder I want to keep.  Am I missing something here?

So, I see my options as:

Add two new HDs to display the table to create a diskette of 3 RAID0 renders/prΘvisualisation, leaving the 2 drive RAID0 for capture

Add (1) HD for restore to create a record of 2-drive RAID0 array and use the second new HD in some way to improve the performance or the workflow

Thanks for your advice on how to best use the new two HDs to improve my system. I think I have 6 SATA sockets on my motherboard (ASUS P6T V2), so it fills my internal HD options.

Thank you!

Jim

Jim,

Configure you your raid5 in the BIOS. Simply follow the instructions to get there. Then in Win7 go to management records, look here for more information: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/584857
