If you have a retail version of Windows 7, then it is more than likely came with discs both 64-bit and 32-bit. In this case, boot from the 32-bit disk and do a clean install.

If the 64-bit version has been pre-installed, then you need to contact Acer to see if they have a 32-bit recovery disc.

If you do not have your product key, you have serious problems.

It is on a sticker on the case of the computer, or packaging and corresponds to 25 numbers arranged in 5 groups of 5 digits.

As you reinstalled Vista, and it is not enabled, we can not help you recover from your operating system running and active.

Contact the manufacturer of the computer.

  • Can I legally use a win7 32-bit code pro install win7 64-bit, if I have the 64-bit disc?

Recently, I accidentally bought 32-bit win7 online for a new PC I am building. I wanted 64-bit. I have a 64-bit version of anoterh installation disk I did and was wondering if you could just use the 32-bit code to install win7 64-bit instead of having to go through the process of return together and everything. Thanks in advance for answers!

The product key is not specific to architecture (32 or 64-bit), but the spirit of the OEM System Builder licensing is, both 32 and 64 bit DVD are sold separately and include their own product key.

If its OEM license that came with a new computer, you could of course just to borrow a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit DVD retail or OEM system builder DVD and use it with your product key provided with the installation of 32-bit, and nothing would be wrong.

There are two types of OEM suppliers. Royalty OEM vendors can distribute Windows products by using the preinstallation (SLP) product keys so that end users can bypass product activations. All other OEM vendors distribute Windows products by using the standard product keys that require the user to activate Windows products.

  • Satellite A305-S6857 - 64-bit XP FN keys do not work

    Hello

I have an A305-S6857 and tried with XP Pro 64-bit. Drivers SATA BACK integrated and installed fine; the only driver I had to draw from Vista 64 bit was the RICOH card reader, the rest of Intel or were detected automatically.

Also have the problem with the FN keys, cannot control the brightness. Downloaded the files of a such A300 model suggested by PC Tech with no luck.

Before you install these windows files, one can enable/disable second computer laptop monitor or sleep; nothing else works.

Could go back to Vista, my battery can last up to 4 hours without wifi, 3 hours with wifi, not using USB devices, power saving mode and turning off all the lights from the BIOS. Same with XP settings give me an average of an hour and a half of battery.

    PCtech, installed XP 32 bit?

    Kind regards.

Your FN buttons don t work because Toshiba does not provide the common Modules for Windows XP 64-bit.
The common Modules is one of the essential drivers/tools that are needed to get the FN buttons work.

I doubt you'll be able to use these buttons using the Win XP 64 bit

To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag (download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 ) tool
    Once saved, run the tool.

Read this info on Flash and 64-bit and 32-bit browsers:

Read the info Adobe above, and very interesting way to use Flash using 32 bit browser in the link below:.

    http://pietschsoft.com/post/2006/12/Vista-experience-update-Windows-Vista-x64-runs-32-bit-Internet-Explorer-by-default.aspx

The Internet Explorer shortcut in the Quick Launch toolbar, and in the x 64 Vista Start menu will run the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer by default. Why run the 32-bit version if IE on the 64-bit version of Vista?

There are actually two shortcuts for Internet Explorer in the "Programs" menu Why two and what is the difference?

This is the title of each and they run exe:

    Internet Explorer
    "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Internet.

    Internet Explorer (64-bit)
    "C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe.

One runs IE in the "Program Files (x 86)" folder, this is the 32-bit version. The second is the 64-bit version.

How can I make the Quick Launch shortcut to run the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer?

    1. Right click on the shortcut
    2. Click 'properties '.
    3. On the shortcut tab, replace the contents of the text box 'Target' with the target of the shortcut in the menu 'Programs' 'Internet Explorer (64-bit)'.
    4. Happy surfing using IE 64 bit

There are traps to running the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer?

In fact I know there. At the time where as I write this there are no 64-bit version of Flash Player. So, if you need to view a Web site that uses Flash, then you will need to use the 32 - bit IE version. at least for now. I'm sure that Adobe is going to release a 64 bit version of Flash Player at the end of January when Vista shipped to consumers. But then again, maybe not since Vista x 64 works 32-bit IE by default.

If you have any other IE questions:

It comes with Vista, upgrade install and activate Forum.

They will help you with your question IE in Forum Internet Explorer above.

  • I have a 64-bit system running Windows 7. I could not get the AutoPlay to open whenever I insert a CD or a DVD.

I have a 64-bit system running Windows 7. I could not get the AutoPlay to open every time I insert a cd or a dvd, I changed the settings to Ask Me to Windows Media Player to open with Windows Explorer... but nothing I tried introduced the feature of AutoPlay to life.

    Is there a solution

    original title: AutoPlay Windows 7

It worked for me: I forgot where I got it, could have been here if it's a little different from what I've seen above

    PIECE AUTO REPAIR
    USING GROUP POLICY EDIT
    gpedit.msc in search
Computer Configuration\ Administrative Templates\ Windows Windows\ Policies\ will disable Autoplay.

In the REGEDIT HELP: Group Policy Editor is not provided with Windows Home editions, however, you can use regedit to achieve the same result.

Open regedit and locate the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

    Change: NoDriveTypeAutorun to 0 x 91

If necessary, create this key as a DWORD.

  • I have Win7 64 bit ultimate and from time to time when I start PC my card reader drives do not appear in my computer.

I have Win7 64 bit ultimate and from time to time when I start PC my card reader drives do not appear in my computer. Device Manager indicates that they are working correctly. Sometimes my dvd drives disappear. I have to do a system restore to solve this problem. For some reason any Win7 has problems with storage devices. How to stop these dissappearing from my Computer(or not getting a drive letter assigned) storage devices?  It's very frustrating. And, System Restore is not a way to solve this problem, it's just a quick fix. I have three internal hard disks, three hard drives, card reader external drives, USB keys, disks, etc. I need a way to solve this problem when it happens. So far, happened about 9 times in the last six weeks since I installed Win7 64 bit ATU.

There may be an update of the motherboard BIOS to solve the problem.

Otherwise, as your card readers are no doubt attached via USB the usual way to solve this problem would be to uninstall the drives and the USB controllers and devices in the system restore.

  • Need to change from an OS 32 bits of a 64 bit OS. Have a 64-bit processor

I have a 64 bit system based, but I Hat an OS installed initially of 32 bits. I went online and bought a windows8 pro license key. Then I used for the link (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only) to set up a media disc and install a new OS. Unfortunately the new OS is 32-bit too. Kindly help, I won't be stuck with an x 86 OS when I can manage a x 64. Where can I download and install a 64 bit pro windows8? Do I have to get a new license key for that also?

You can download only the 64-bit ISO for Windows 8/8.1 (if purchased by Microsoft as an upgrade as you have done) a 64-bit system.

Just FYI - there is no 'upgrade on the spot' of a 32-bit to 64-bit operating system.  It will be a CLEAN installation.  Everything will be removed and you will have to manually locate, download, and install hardware device drivers everything yourself to get the operating system up and work with all your stuff.

You can download said image ISO 64-bit since 64-bit machine WITHOUT the upgrade or modification of this computer, and then you could, in theory, the ISO allows you to burn a DVD or make a key USB to use make said new installation - your product key should be good for 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 8/8.1.

    Hello:

You can legally download W7 wherever you more unless you have a product key from retail full version, (including one on your PC isn't the case).

The best thing to do to reinstall W7 would call HP at this number (USA/Canada) and order a set of W7 for your PC recovery discs.

1-800-334-5144 PC serial number handy to give to the customer service rep.

A set should cost about $10 mailed to class 1.
