I played a bit with permissions and gave myself all permissions, with the exception of special permissions (which was grey), and then he said I needed the permission of 'Administrators' when I tried to delete the folder.   Recently, things are held in my computer after trying themes. I don't know what I fiddled with, but I do know something ExplorerFrame.dll in system32 and sysWOW64. I've tinkered with it to try to change my navigation settings. (The arrows in windows Explorer)  I don't know if that's the problem, but my main problem is when I try to save anything, or "save under" or try to save anything even in microsoft word or adobe reader, none of the folders in my navigation pane is there! It's just empty! I tried to solve this problem with sfc/scannow, but the message that I put in the title appears when it reaches 10%! I've tried everything literally! I tried running sfc/scannow offline, and it comes up with a message 'Protection of resources Windows could not start the repair service.' I also tried to check in my services to see if the Windows Module is manual in the startup type, and it is! The last thing I could think that I tried was the start in safe mode with command prompt, and it still does not. If anyone can help me, please! I've tried everything! * I forgot, I have try running CMD administrive rights, still won't work *.

  Thank you for the help, but I figured it out by myself. I replaced the old version ExplorerFrame.dll in system32 and sysWOW64 folders to a new! I managed to do it by copying the correct files to another computer and replacing them with the 'old' I have fiddled. Thanks for your help!

  I have a HP G laptop computer series. The laptop comes with Windows 7. I. I upgraded to WIN 8 pro when windows 8 has been released. Recently, my laptop hard drive crashed completely due to bad sectors. I replaced with a new hard drive and tried to install WIN 8 from a dvd disk created from Windows download site.

  Now, the installation fails in the "enter product key to activate windows. The error is , we could not verify the product key. Please check your installation media.

  What can I do here? I can't install Windows 7 also because my laptop didn't come with a backup installation disk but just a restore system partition that get lost with swap HDD too.

  I was struck here for weeks. Please help me.

  To install Windows 8, you must have a previous Version (XP Sp3, Vista or Windows 7) installed at installation time. Your RESUME must have given you the opportunity to make a series of DVD of Windows 7, when you first start using your computer. If you have done these and then use them for the recovery of Windows 7 on your computer and then update for Windows 8.0. If you don't do this why? Your other option is to contact HP support and have then send you a recovery of Windows 7 DVD set. They will charge a small fee for these to help cover their costs.

  It explains how to find the Windows 7 support for your version in step 1 of the clean reinstall Windows 7   If the repair facility does not help then I would follow the steps in the Installer Clean link to get and keep the best possible installation.
