I have a computer with Windows Vista business on her key. I have a dell windows vista Enterprise drive. the product to activate my acer desktop computer?

Activation of WINDOWS VISTA oem with another oem drive?

HI I have a computer with windows vista business on that key. Apparently, I do not have the original OEM drive but I have a dell windows vista Enterprise drive. the product to activate my acer desktop computer?

Hello

A manufacturer of recovery disc is designed for a particular brand and computer model; they are not interchangeable.

Here is the link to order the Acer recovery disks:

http://us-store.Acer.com/RCD/

And if the Acer never included a drive to purchase, you should have a recovery Partition on your hard disk to reinstall Vista to how it was when new.

With an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the process of recovery back to new condition.

See you soon.

  • Benefits of having two disk partitions; an a small boot with Windows 8, and drive the rest?

Just got a new computer Asus Cm6870 with Windows 8 and a 2 TB hard drive.

    Hi Phantomiz,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

According to the description, it seems you want to know about several partitions on the hard drive. I'll be happy to help you with this problem.

It is not recommended to have the data and files of the operating system on the same partition. It is because if the operating system files are corrupt, your computer go to no start situation. In this scenario, you will lose all the data that you have on your c: drive. Otherwise, if you save your data in the d: drive, you can reinstall the c: drive and your data is safe in the d: drive.

I hope it helps. If you have any questions about Windows in the future, please let us know. We will be happy to help you.

  • New computer with Windows 7, stuck on the specific update

    Hello world!
I have recently (last Saturday) purchased a new HP laptop with Windows 7 installed. The computer is now going through the standard (I guess they are standard) updates for Windows and successfully completed several rounds of them. Last night after having turned it off the computer began another series of updates, with 14 in the total bundle. She started 1 of 14 around 20:00 and started 4 of 14 at 22:30. From 08:30 the next morning, he was still on 4 of 14.
Is this an update that takes 12 hours to install, or is there another problem causing my computer to not to go beyond the update? I found no way to bypass the update or cancel it.

    Thank you!

    Hi Kristi,

Are you able to boot to the desktop now?

Let us check that the windows update history for the error code.
    1. Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
    2. on the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site, click on view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.
    3. in the status column of this window, find the update failed to install, and then click the red X.
A new window opens that displays the installation error code.
4 write down the error number and post it back.

  • After the reinstallation of Vista (32 bit) I'm done with Windows and most of the stuff on the disk 1 (c), but with stuff on the disk 2 (d).

original title: after reinstallation of Vista (32 bit), I found myself with Windows and most of the stuff on the disk 1 (c), but with stuff on the disk 2 (d). It's hard to backup.

I wish all the disk 0, which is 250 GB, leaving the 1 free 500 GB disc to have been the repository of backup and archiving of others.  But I don't want to have to reinstall everything.  I couldn't move bootmgr, BOOTSECT. BAK and 'boot' folder on the disk 1 (c) by somehow the system partition?  Then there would be no OS stuff on disk 0 (D :); back, but better than mixed.)  What happens if I disconnect physically the smallest disk, Startup Repair will make the disc with Windows boot and system partitions? Thank you.

    Hi OldScientist,

Before performing these steps, it is recommended to make a backup of your important data.

Step 1: Mark Disk 1 (C) as active partition, then launch Startup Repair

    Help!

This kind of behavior is very often due to antivirus.  You are using.  If its McAfee or Norton get rid of them completely.   There are others who are also incompatible.  Everything you try, make sure that the analysis of e-mail is disabled.   You can also try to repair the database and see if that helps (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  And see also www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

This question is not met at the time of the request

I created a Blog post to allow other servers to 2012r2 2012r2 of remote assistance.

However, it is not possible to use 2012r2 to help a win7 server remotely. It is simply not supported by MS and there is nothing we can do.

If you can create a server 2008r2 to run the Management Console, you will be able to assist distance Win7 VDIs from here.
