  Best to make a/Clean Custom installation of XP. Never can tell what the unwanted (like viruses) may exist.

  (1) Note the make and model of your computer.

  (2) check that the 25-character product key is always fixed to the case or at the bottom of your laptop.

  3) go to the support of the manufacture web site and know what "F" key, you will need to press on when the computer starts, run a reinstallation of XP (or use the recovery media if you have a).

  (4) reinstall XP and create a new user account. Note: If you use the support CD of 'Recover' you will need to re-enter the product key to activate Windows.

  I recently decided to update my drivers on my 9 year old bridge. Apparently the program that I used to do didn't realize a bad driver when he sees...   I'm trying to access my restore points to get rid of the driver that has been installed. Unfortunately when I put the windows CD and try the repair option I can't log on to the volume because it requires an administrator password. I tried Admin admin admin admin and leave blank. I even ran a program to reset passwords (I do not use any which way.) still cannot log on to the volume. I also tried to pass in front of the screen to repair and installation of windows to fix this. I can hit escape and pgup and pgdown but not f8 to agree to the agreement.
  When I boot in safe mode with command prompt that it still forces me to click on an account to connect. Which I can't because the keyboard and the mouse do not work when windows is loaded.
  I can't get to the command prompt to display the box to help restore points?

  This isn't a matter of 32-bit/64-bit.  32-bit Windows 7 programs run without any problem on both 64-bit Windows 7, although the reverse is not true.  The website of Sony presents the program compatible with Windows 7, and they offer no 32-bit versions and 64-bit separate (as is true with many, if not most of the software).  I would contact their support download and installation issues.
