I have a new pc and I am trying to restore my favorites

I did a backup (that is saved as a document in firefox), but how do I get the new version to recognize? I already copied the file to the new profile in program files, but he can't see it (don't know not what version of firefox I had before (think it was an earlier version) but now you are using 3.6.12

What do you backup?

Firefox stores the user data such as bookmarks in the profile folder, rather than in program files. For more details about the location of the profile folder, see the article of profiles - where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data . You can copy the data manually by copying the contents of the folder in profile, for details, see profile - MozillaZine Knowledge Base backup or retrieve data from an old profile.

I guess you always have access to the old computer, if there is therefore some add-ons and utilities that can facilitate this process. The first is the add-on FEBE which can be used to copy a profile. Another option is the free utility of MozBackup .
