  If it is a new computer, you have the required drivers for Windows 98?  With recent computers the easiest would be to use a virtual machine, you will avoid problems with SATA controller.  You have Windows XP Home or XP Pro?

  If you want to set up a true dual boot you need a free partition on your drive for the installation of Windows 98, it can be done, but Windows 98 partition limit should throw the first 127 GB of the disk and it can be somewhat difficult to implement, particularly in this case the SATA drive.  It would be preferable to set up a second hard drive (IDE) and easier if you have an IDE plug available

  If there is absolutely nothing on the disk you want, just format the drive and install Windows XP:

  1. start from the CD. You may need to change the first boot to a CD device in the BIOS. To do this, when you switch on the look for a configuration message indicating what key to start typing, F2 and del are commonly used. The message appears for very long and it you miss, you have to restart the computer. In the BIOS, look for a section that contains the boot sequence, change it to CD, save it and let the computer to restart.

  2. the installation sequence is answering the message press any key to boot from the CD, and then press ENTER to set up Windows, press F8 to accept the EULA, delete the partition, press ENTER, type L to confirm delete, type C to create a partition, choose (Quick) format.   I suggest to try the system restore to restore the system to a date before the problem started. Try this...
  1. click on START
  2. click on "all programs".
  3. click on "Accessories".
  4. click on "system tools."
  5. click on "system restore."

So, if you need to view a Web site that uses Flash, then you will need to use the 32 - bit IE version. at least for now. I'm sure that Adobe is going to release a 64 bit version of Flash Player at the end of January when Vista shipped to consumers. But then again, maybe not since Vista x 64 works 32-bit IE by default.

  The toolbars are still on display in your browser?

  If you still have the address bar, right click on any part that is not a text box or the icon, or if you do not like that of any space right click on the three horizontal lines on the right side of the address bar window. This should show some options, click on 'Menu Bar' and the tabs you are missing should appear.

  As a side note, usually if these options are missing, your icon of firefox in the upper left corner of the window should look different (being a rectangular button itself as opposed to an icon), and the 'file', 'Edition', 'Bookmarks', etc., are found after clicking on this button.
