• The use of Airport Extreme but can't find my printer.

  I plugged my HP Laserjet 1200 on my Dell XPS 8100 runnig Win 7. All right.

  I then connect my LaserJet to my Apple Airport Extreme, but Bonjur or it will not find the printer. I did turn my Extream airport on an XP system without problem. Now, nothing using Win 7.

  Now that I'm on Win 7, I need to do something special to find my printer?

  It is model Arris TG G 1682 and supposed to give service 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz.

  Can I use this, it is faster or more strong signal through walls, etc. or continue to use my Airport Extreme?

  Nobody has a crystal ball that will be good enough to see your network performance, so that we cannot provide an answer for you about the question of whether you should use the gateway Arris or AirPort Extreme.

  Use your laptop to connect and check the connection Wireless at various locations around the House using the signal from the bridge of Arris.

  Then, do the same thing by using the AirPort Extreme signal.

  If you find the gateway Arris delivers a better signal than AirPort Extreme, then you need not in AirPort Extreme unless you want to have a separate network for guests or children.

  If you find that the AirPort Extreme works better than the Arris gateway, you can use the signal from the gateway for a network of comments or children. If you do not need a network comments or children, you might want to disable wireless on the bridge to reduce the number of wireless networks in your area.

  Is this new? If this is not the case, is what model?

  A fixed orange should be a serious error condition. Looks like it was just connected wrongly and the LED is upside down.

  If it is in the care of warranty or apple take it back to apple for replacement. There is nothing you can do about it.

  What version of Vista are you using?  You have the Fax Vista and the scan function activated (if available in your version)?  If so, try turning it off to see if that causes some kind of conflict with the HP software attempts to essentially do the same thing (or disable HP software and try to use the Vista software insttead if it is an option).

  The truth is, you need to obtain assistance from HP about this problem.

• Cannot open a recent file of a list of shortcuts with one click more. Is there a solution?

  On my desktop and laptops I'm used to opening recent documents by clicking on the shortcut from the taskbar and dragging upwards to open the Menu of rerouting, and then release the mouse on the document recent or pinned I want to open.   Another extreme airport would be the perfect match to extend the signal of your "main" AirPort Extreme, but an AirPort Express pourrait point be good enough for your application, if the budget is limited.

  Ideally, the second airport would be located in the middle of the area where you need more wireless signal strength and then connect to the 'main' airport using wired Ethernet wired, permanent.

  It is possible to have the second airport to extend the first using a Wi - Fi connection... IF... the second airport is where he can receive a strong signal from the first airport.  A good location is at halfway between 'primary' airport and the area that needs more wireless coverage.

  Remember that when you extend wireless like this, there is always a loss of about half of the potential wireless speed on the network, then the result will be a network with the best range, but reduces the maximum speeds.

  The more you have line of sight between the airports, the network will be operated. Or, another way of saying the same thing, is the 'extension' airport to expand the speed of the signal it receives. It can make the stronger... wireless signal but can't go faster.

  The key is that Apple routers are designed for general public use. They don't have many options when it comes to commercial applications. You better get a router that provides these additional features. I recommend that you consider the research in routers of professional level provided by Cisco (or similar) for this purpose.

  None of the available options, provided by AirPort Extreme, will be able to satisfy your needs network entirely.

  For example, you can use the network > router Mode to 'DHCP' option only This would use a public ISP IP addresses for the base station and to distribute the five for customers... other required network, but you will not be able to use this setting to distribute IP addresses private network customers remaining, as this option disables the service NAT on the base station.

  Will on the other hand, using the NAT and DHCP option would take care to provide for the remaining machines, private addresses but allow only one device is accessible with a public IP address by placing the appliance in a DMZ. Apple calls this a "default host".

• Extend an AirPort Extreme with a Terminal AirPort Express increasing the number of users?

  I have an AirPort Extreme 2 years ago. Based on the technical page of the product, the router can theoretically connect up to 50 users. That's more than enough if used at home.

  However, I intend to deploy a network of airports in our new office building and we have more or less 50 employees. Because everyone has a smartphone that it needs to connect, I try to at least 100 users/devices. Which includes all the network printers. Obviously, an AirPort Extreme is not enough. Another thing, I have considered is that the office building is 2 floors and all the walls are made of concrete, which means the distribution of the wifi signals is affected.

  I thought to extend an AirPort extreme with 3 more AirPort Expressare (mobile network). It's 2 APs on each floor. That should solve the problem of distribution wifi. I'm not sure the first problem - 100 or more devices into a single network.

  In theory, Yes.  But you must take this specification of 50 users with a grain of salt.  Once there are 20-25 users on the same airport access point, things will slow down significantly. The system will operate as of cold molasses with up to 50 users on the same access point.

  Quite frankly, in a business application, you need a software router. Apple routers are designed for home use.

  Another way to say the same thing, is that Apple does not routers Apple at the Apple Store. Who could tell more than anything whatsoever about the suitability of the products in your proposed network.

  My advice would be to get an IT professional in and review your needs... before you move further.

I'm running a brand new late 2015 5 k iMac. I had a router Netgear before this one and when I went on the navigation pages, everything was quick and fast, now that I have Airport Extreme, I noticed that it is not as fast as it was before and it feels like a slight delay when you go to the pages, is still not happen but its 'there' If you know what I mean. Someone at - it suggestions? I use Safari as my browser. Happy to add more info if needed.

  There are problems known between all modems of the sb series and airports... especially the AC series...

  The problem is not related to either be defective... they don't like each other.

  My recommendation is to replace the Modem... the Zoom works much better... However, I must warn you... It is not the panacea for all ills.

  Or to replace the AE as the main router... you can always keep it to wireless and even part of the DHCP server... but not the main router. A cheap substitute may well work... since it does not need wireless... I recommend one of the TP-Link for example WR1043ND v2 or v3, which costs only $50.
