  Ah, I see. The model itself has no magic, it provides really just a reference for positioning of your stuff. If you open / import into any program, you can just place your work on top of it. Inkscape would be actually a good starting point and is free, but also consider other free tools like Scribus or even components of the Open Office draw. in all cases, unless you do this 100 times a day I consider a product too expensive Adobe.

  Yes, you could use sketches, make the drawing as a picture layer, and then draw on top of it. Just one thing: how you want to export? You use a software of creative cloud? I ask because right now the only way to get a high resolution of your sketch work must send the work to CC Photoshop or Illustrator CC.
