After logging in to my admin account, I created two user accounts for my children, set up parental controls for both that I created, when I tried to set up the third account that he would allow me to activate parental control. It seems that he is trying to load the screen to give me the parental control options then the window disappers and another small window appears saying "cannot make changes to parental controls settings. If the problem persists, see your system administrator. I close the window, and then open the parental controls for other accounts, and they work very well, allows me the chance to change. I deleted the third account several times, making sure to create on behalf of others, just like I did the first two. Still no luck. Can I have only 3 total accounts? Create a new user account and check if the problem persists, the problem does not persist in the new user account, then fix the damaged user account.

  • Sorry, we could not make changes to parental controls settings.

    Hello.

We recently bought two laptops for our children. My wife tried to set up parental controls, but we were striking problems on one of them.

We have removed the trial version of McAfee that came with the laptop and installed computer Total virus defense. We tried and then configure the parameters of the family.

A laptop works fine, but the laptop on the other, identical displays an error message when the family settings are changed.
"Sorry, we could not make changes to parental controls settings."

The settings seem to be there properly, despite the error message, but they have no effect on navigation or access time.

The two laptops are running Windows 8 with local accounts for the parameters.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

    Kind regards

  • Parental Controls error: "unable to make changes to parental controls settings.

I recently added a second user on my computer so that my friends and family can use it even if I'm not around. Only one problem though. I tried to put parental controls for literally giving them access to about five programs and nothing else. I know HOW to put in place, but whenever I finished the settings, an error comes up saying

"Impossible to make changes to parental controls settings. If the problem persists, see your system administrator. »

Of course, since it's my computer, I am the system administrator. It says my user profile. Everything works very well in my own profile and it is the first issue I've had with Windows Vista, I could not understand either by myself or the box of Windows Vista Help could respond. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you, Vanessa

    Hi evilkittenofdoom

Lets try the following.  Even if your account is an administrator, can allow to built in Administrator account and see if we get the error you mentioned before.

activate the account real built-in Administrator, then log into that account and see if you can set up parental controls.

1.) open start, type cmd in the search box

2.) look to the top of the left panel you'll see cmd.exe , right click

3.) click on RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR, click on continue if prompted

(4.) a black & white screen appears, type the following:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes

5.) press the ENTER key on your keyboard. The b/w screen indicate whether the command is successful. If Yes, close the n/b command prompt. Otherwise please try again and careful with typo/spacing.

6.) log-off. The display will show 3 accounts. Acct 'true administrator', yours and your 2nd account set for friends/family

7.) to connect to the account "administrator." The system should start the implementation of the Bureau for the account. After that, try to do what you wanted to do with the 2nd account (the parental control settings).

    WARNING
: a) If you decide to keep this account (Administrator account), be sure to create a password for it.
    (b) If you decide to get rid of it, repeat operations EXCEPT in step 4.) type net user administrator / active: No.

Please let us know if it helped to solve the problem - thank you

  • drivers LabVIEW for agilent e4432b, cannot find the way to control multitone?

drivers LabVIEW for agilent e4432b, cannot find the way to control multitone? How to deal

    Hello Brownheart,

Drivers for the instruments aren't supposed to cover all applications use of instruments, only for the most common uses. No matter if multitone is a common use for this instrument, a brief review of the functions available in the driver does not have this feature.

What you have to do is to create your own config VI using the information of the use of the programming unit. Is not ideal, but at least the driver NOR provided gives you a starting point for adding this feature.

  • Cannot find \Windows\System32\hal.dll__

    Cannot find \Windows\System32\hal.dll

XP pro upgrade, not product complete

It comes to the hardware layer for Extraction (HAL) DLL.  Look for a copy in % systemroot%\ServicePackFiles.  If it is not in this directory, you probably have not installed the latest Service Pack.  If this isn't the case for updating hal.dll, install Service Pack 3 now the CD-ROM (see below), not Windows Update in order to run the (SFC) System File Checker utility in the future.  If she is in... \ServicePackFiles, recopy the % systemroot%\system32.  You need to be in safe mode to copy this file.  Do not copy from %systemroot%\$NTServicePackUninstall$ if it is there.

If you have already installed Service Pack 3, since an administrator account, try the following in a "cmd" window ( -R,cmd):

    Letter
    %Systemroot%\ServicePackFiles CD
    Expand sp3.cab - %systemroot%\system32\: Fhal.dll

If all else fails, you can run the utility auditor of file system (CFS) to try to restore the missing files.  From an administrator account, type:

    -R, sfc/scannow

SFC calls for, first of all, your installation media, and then later the service pack CD-ROM.  If SFC wants to replace the files, leave.  If the SFC rejects your Service Pack CD-ROM, read the KB900910 Microsoft Knowledge base article.  Note that this article applies to SP2, but is also applicable to the SP3.  Just use your common sense and use SP3 where the article refers to SP2.

If you don't have a CD-ROM Service Pack 3, or order it (U.S. / Canada , Europe, Africa , Asia or South America ) from Microsoft or download the ISO (here ) and burn it.  Be sure to Select the appropriate language if you download ISO.  Note, I recommend that you install Service Pack 3 on a CD-ROM, rather than through Windows Update so that youpouvez use SFC with success!

  • HP Pavilion running Vista system crashes then it said 'cannot find Windows.

I have a HP Pavilion otherwise very satisfied with Vista and installed Service Pack 2. Lately, unfortunately, the machine often accidents / crashes. Sometimes, the problem is resolved after you restart Windows. But more often, when I try to reboot normally, or via Ctrl/AltDel or removal of complete power, an error message appears back, indicating "cannot find Windows. I think I have a problem of HARD drive and/or a little defective internal power connections. But since I still have a lot of free space on the HARD disk, I prefer not to scrap it. However, if it 's the drive itself that has a problem, I would consider that replace it with a new one. Anyone out there with some thoughts on this?

  • How can I accept terms of use Live when you try to use the Windows 7 parental control features?

    * I have already connected to fss.live.com and https://familysafety.microsoft.com. This solution does not remedy the issue.* *.

When you try to use the Windows 7 parental control features, it first asks you to connect to Live.  When I do, I get the 8004B3E9 error Code and it asks me to "connect to account.live.com and accept the terms of use.  However, in doing so, there are no terms of use for me to accept.  I also go to fss.live.come and familysaftely.microsoft.com and no option for the conditions of use is available to accept.  In addition, I tried different browsers.

I can connect on Live.com and view my account easily, but without conditions of use prompt appears for me to accept, so my attempts to use the parental controls are stuck in this cycle, where it won't let me past without accepting conditions that do not seem to exist.

How can I make sure I am set up as the account 'Parent '.

    Help, please

3 hours later I'm finally able to access Family Safety. Thank you!

  • Cannot make changes to the parents control settings (Windows 7)

I've seen several comments regarding this same problem, but so far no solution.

I am the administrator, but I get an error when I try to access the parent on standard accounts control settings.  Now, what's even weirder, is that I am able to access ONE of the standard accounts, and there is nothing different between this account and others.

I have tried all the solutions already posted:

    -running 'services.msc' and the implementation of parent controls (which is said by the way, says "this service is a stub for of Windows Parental control feature that existed in Vista", which is strange, it's as if there's no 'Parental control' in Windows 7?);

-create a new administrator account via the control panel (in the case where my administrator account is corrupt), by restarting and trying to put Parental controls

    -create a new administrator account using the command prompt "net user administrator / Active: Yes";

-in the course of running "sfc/scannow".

    ANY OTHER IDEAS?

Did you you run regedit as an administrator? It is a common problem in trying just new values. This is done by right-clicking on the program and selecting "Run as Administrator". This allows you to write new values.

If you would like more information on this subject by me, read the last post on page 3 here:
If you have recently encountered this problem, I would recommend a system restore, and I explain the reasons in the tread above.
    I hope this helps!
  • Mother cannot remember password for parental control

original title: administrator password - parental control

We are in a difficult place. My mother cannot rememberher. admin password and parental controls block a bit. I read on a clean reinstall of windows, but I'm not able to download anything because of the controls. To make things worse, we do not find the windows vista installation CD. We were stuck trying to crack this password. Is there something else we can do?

    Hello

I'm sorry, but the strategy of microsoft in these forums is that without assistance will be given about lost or forgotten passwords

read the policy at the link below

    to reinstall vista:

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

  • It seems that your mother has finished setting up parental control for your account settings. Click "Access the parental control settings" to complete the process and access your account.

My case is exactly like G - Boy below:

I had no problems with the installation, but I found myself with the same result... my daughter cannot connect to hotmail that she gets the same error as you indicate above.

    However, I must mention that
    1. I set up both of my two daughters and you can access Hotmail and the other can't.  The same process followed
    2. one who can't access Hotmail, she can always use Instant Messanger

Your help is appreciated since Windows Live family safety support staff was not able to help and directed me to this forum.

  • Hotmail 44 looks like your mother has not finished to set up parental controls for your account settings. Click "Access the parental control settings" to complete the process and access your account.

I love how you get this error message, and then says that there is no support for this information.  You would think that if MS wrote this error message, they would assume someone would finally get it and need help.  Why I've bothered with this company I have no idea.

All I want is to get my child HM account work. Ive clicked all this parental control I can find.  If this was the issue of the xbox, Id go immediately to gmail.

    Hello

Had the same problem as the rest. All fixed now by:

Abducted child security account for the family (Instructions in this thread)

Account and went to outlook.com, let the updates.

deleted the account from the local computer (Windows 8, users through the control panel * no * new user interface)

Added and ensure that parental control is back on (it is by default)

Can access the messages and followed the account. The account I had was old enough and not yet been used.
