I have many structures of installed Microsoft NET. Do I need them all?

I have all the following programs on my computer: (Microsoft NET Framework 1.1, Microsoft NET Framework 2.0 SP2, Microsoft NET Framework 3.0 SP2, Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 SP1, Microsoft NET Framework 4 Client Profile, Microsoft NET Framework 4 extended)    Are all needed?

These ".NET Frameworks" are added by applications that you install needing to run.

Unfortunately, they are not simply "upgrades", and some applications need specific versions of the .NET Framework.  For example, an application that needs .NET 3.5 probably does not work if the only thing installed .NET 4.

You can uninstall all or part of them, but if you do, it is likely that some applications that you have installed will stop working.   And no, I don't know an easy way to determine which applications can use the version of .NET Framework.

  • Error installing Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 Setup program has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software

I need to install Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1, as it is necessary to perform a Dell diagnostic Test, but I've been advised that: Setup has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software. Requirement: Windows install 3.1.

However, when I look at the download page of Windows Installer 3.1 is not actually as for XP with SP3. I tried anyway and: Setup has determined that the version of Service Pack for this system is newer than the update you are applying. There is no need to install this update. Well actually it is there...

  • Install Microsoft changed the startup by setting up a local user account

I installed Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and since then had to click my username / load my personal settings to start Windows, which slows startup significantly time. I have a XP Home Edition / SP3 operating system. Microsoft recommends installing the latest service pack for the .NET Framework 1.1 for resolution:

How can I fix this please?

    Hello

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community site. The question you posted would be better suited in the Technet forums. Please visit the below mentioned link to find a community that will provide the support you want.

  • I installed Microsoft fix Center, but cannot download the troubleshooters.

I installed Microsoft Fix it Center but on all first open, when it is collecting information on my computer, I get a message "unable to download troubleshooting guides, please check your internet connection.

I looked for answers on this forum and tried the solutions proposed in the following thread:http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/fixitcenter/thread/726036bc-b281-4742-a95e-c42e2a07c920

However, these have not helped and probably because my version of windows is different from the one used by the people who provide the answers, the options I had to choose from were different from those mentioned.

    i.e.

    (1) Daniel Chow, to the title of point 3, says click on «Filter current log...» ', there is no option for me.

    (2) the response of GlobalToolSource said to select "run as administrator" on the Compatibility tab as response to Windows Vista. Because I am running XP is not available, and the only options are systems of Windows from Windows 95 to Windows 2000. I chose Windows 2000 in each case, but it has no effect.

I am running Windows XP SP3.

I use Firefox as my browser and put it so that I have to approve any cookie that wants to put in my PC.

Firefox works perfectly. I can't blame her, and I checked my list of 'Exceptions' three times looking for any blocked cookie that seems to have something to do with Microsoft or fix it and found nothing.

    Kind regards

    Barry

    Hello

Also I would ask you to use Internet Explorer in this case. You can also see the thread below for more help on this issue.

I can't install Microsoft Encarta Premium 2009. When I try, I get the following error, and Setup fails.

"An error occurred during the installation of assembly"Microsoft.VC80.CRT, type = "win32", version = "8.0.50727.42", publicKeyToken = "1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b" processorArchitecture = "x 86" ". You can find more information in Help and Support.

    How can I fix?

PS: I am running Microsoft Windows Vista 64 - bit (ENU) with Service Pack 2 (SP2) on a HP Pavilion dv5-1199eg Entertainment Notebook PC.

Problem solved on 08/27/2009 by installing Microsoft Windows 7.

PS: As far as I know you can resolve it by installing Microsoft .NET Framework, whose absence in the system when you try to install Microsoft Encarta is the reason for this problem (you may need to perform a clean installation of Microsoft Windows in order to be able to do).

Updates automatically downloaded cannot be reused. Suggest you open the link "View update history" of the icon of the Windows Update control panel and write updates have been downloaded and installed.
Then download and save them from the Microsoft Download Center .
Just enter the number in the field to Search All Download Center and then click on the "magnifying glass" to start the search.
You can also change the language and geographic location by clicking on the link edit in the top right of the page.
