    Hello

    1. is that the copy of windows is enabled?

2 is the issue limited to the installation of a security update Cumulative for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Vista (KB2699988)?

I suggest to perform the steps in the following article and check.

Method 1: run the Windows update troubleshooting tool and check.

The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_update/

Method 2: I suggest you to put the computer in a clean boot state and check if Windows update installs successfully.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps in the section above to reset the computer to start as usual.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

    Hi Jeff,

I had a whole series of mistakes differrent, but thought of the discuussions in http://forums.adobe.com/message/5273970#5273970 would be the resolution, but as you can see by my comment on this subject, that this still has not first solve my problem. I finally solved it by using this solutions all in contact with technical assistance, although I do not understand what we did different, he still was't straight forward and had several attempts to succeed. Still seems to be a problem Adobe must answer, especially with the new CC version and update to come Monday, I bet that there will be a lot of discussion of this problem the week next in the forums.

By default, Win7 is more secure than Windows XP, Yes. If you decide to "switch" to Win7, but keep pressing this freebie ugly AOL/McAfee, chances are that you will be infected again later. I wish that you were runningMicrosoft Security Essentials (free), NOD32 or Kaspersky Anti-Virus (not free).

NB: If you upgrade the computer to Windows XP to Win7, it will essentially be a "clean install". While most of your Windows XP data will be stored in a folder called Windows.old, I wouldn't trust safety of this right off the bat because of the infection aleady-today ' hui.

However, you can format the hard drive and do a clean install of Windows XP to resolve the infection. Who would you save a few $$ and you would not have to learn a new operating system (e.g., Win7). Details available on request.

Thanks for the pointers, but none of the Web pages on the links provided, mentions this error code, which I find strange it seems that the problem is caused by the presence of defined Windows Firewall on 'on' when you download updates.  Turning the firewall Windows on a 'stop' in the control panel allows downloads to install correctly.
