I have no mpeg-2 decoders to

I am running windows xp Service Pack 2 and I have a problem with windows media player 11.

When I play the Audio files, it works very well, but whenever I try to play a dvd in windows media player, it is said

"windows media player cannot play the dvd because that no compatible dvd decoder is not installed on your computer",

the wmp update settings are on "auto-every day", but he says that everything is up to date.

Ive downloaded a third party dvd player and another media player, and they all have both read the DVD fine, so, apparently, that is not a problem with the DVD itself.

but when I use the same dvd to WMP it always gives me this message, I used the utility of microsofts decoder checkup and he says there is no mpeg-2 decoders installed on the computer but I can't find anywhere to get one can help you?

FFDShow includes a MPEG-2 decoder, so you who could give a try. After installation, go to start - programs - FFDShow - video decoder configuration, MPEG2 to libmpeg2 value and check DVD decoding.

    Hello

    1. are you able to play the other mpegs successfully?
    2. what version of Windows Media Player do you use?

I suspect that the file is corrupted.

    Method 1.
Check if you can play the same video in a different media player.

    Method 2.
You may need to check if the codecs work very well to play the file. Check if you have installed third party codecs. Uninstall them and re - install and then check.

    I hope this helps.

How can I find a codec?

If you know the name of the codec or its ID (called a id FourCC for video codecs or aWaveFormat for the audio codecs identifier), try the search on the Internet. For example, you can often go to the Web site of the codec manufacturer to download the latest version of a codec.

    Warning

However, be careful when installing codecs that you find on the Internet, in particular some of the free codec packs that claim to include codecs from a wide variety of companies or organizations. Incompatibilities are known to exist with some of the components in these codec packs that can cause serious playback issues in the player and other players, lead to the corruption of the system and make it difficult for Support from Microsoft to diagnose and solve playback problems. For these reasons, we strongly discourage you from installing these codec packs, and recommend that remove you them if you have installed them and you are having problems with the player. Install only codecs, filters or plug-ins from reliable sources, authorized, such as the website of the official supplier. Even in this case, be careful: many codec suppliers offer minimal customer. Before you install the components of digital media, set a system restore point. The restore point to return to the configuration of your system, if necessary

Download the excellent and free VLC Media Player and try to play your file with it. I think that you certainly have a MPEG here.

  • DVD player falls down after that each fix and the film played

Error display says decoder need and the file cannot be found / this problem is not repairable

    Hi J.G. Sanchez,.

-What is the brand and model of your DVD player?
-What's the fix you're talking about?
-What, exactly, is a transcript of the error message that you receive?

A DVD decoder is another name for a MPEG-2 decoder. The content on DVD-Video discs is encoded in MPEG-2 format, as is the content of the files DVR - MS (Microsoft recorded TV Shows) and some AVI files. To read these articles in the drive, you need a compatible DVD decoder installed on your computer.

If your computer has a DVD drive, it probably already has a DVD decoder installed on it. However, if you encounter an error message that indicates that you are missing a compatible DVD decoder, click Web help on the error message dialog box to determine how to obtain one.

Step 1: If you are not sure which decoder is installed on your computer, install the Windows XP DVD Decoder Checkup Utility from the link given below. You can use this utility to:

    • Identify the MPEG-2 decoders that are installed on your computer.
    • Determine whether the decoders are compatible with Windows Media Player 10.
    • Choose which installed decoder you want Windows Media Player 10 to use when synchronizing DVR - MS files to a mobile device.

To check if the decoder is present on your computer, see:

Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility

Step 2: In some cases, the utility offers a Web site where an updated decoder might be available.

If the program indicates that you do not have a MPEG-2 decoder installed, consider purchasing one.

You can download the DVD decoder from the link below:

  • After downgrading from Vista Satellite L30-101 does not read DVD

    Hey,.

Like many people, I didn't like Vista and so returned to the use of Windows XP.

In doing so, I lost a lot of things like the ability to watch DVDs and sound, most of these problems fixed so easily by downloading the drivers from this site.

However, even after the DVD driver download I can't read DVDs yet.
When you try to play through Windows media player I get say error message that I did not have a MPEG-2 decoder, in the section web site help, it suggests where to get one, but you have to play for each other.
After having one in the first place, I don't think I should buy a new one.

If anyone has a solution it would be greatly appretiated if they could let me know.

    Thank you

    PS I have a Satellite L30-101

I think you have a codec problem, but I'm not sure. Maybe you should install the latest version of Media Player and codec Xvid, DivX and AC3. These are free (google it!). Or you can try alternative software, such as WinDVD or PowerDVD, you can try the demo versions.

  • The decoder error: the video decoder has either malfuntioned or is not installed...

I had to reinstall my Win XP Media Center 2005 due to a trojan virus. I formatted and reinstalled. Everything works fine, but I can play is no longer ANY DVD. I get the message "titled" above! I installed and ran the Video Decoder Checkup Utility and it says I have NO MPEG-2 decoder installed! What the heck is with that? I have a bought and paid for a BONE with Media Center 2005, the only way I've seen to get the codecs I need, I have to pay for them?  It's crazy! I thought that I had already paid for them through the puchace of my PC! (Dell)  I have / do not watch TV using Media Center. I only watched DVD (when it worked) really just, I wish the new DVD game! ANY help on this would be appreciated.

Very probably came with your Dell system Power DVD, the decoder is in this program.

Reinstall Power DVD and Media Center works again.

If you purchased a TV Tuner with your system, for example (Angel USB) reinstall the driver on the CD Drivers and Utilities provided with your system.

If you do not have the drivers CD, you can get it from Dell downloads driver.

You can also reinstall burning software provided with your system.

The sound is distorted when playing dvd on wmp 11. However, when you play the same dvd WinDVd or PowerDVD quality sound and picture are fine. I downloaded Windows XP Video Checkup Utility, and he indicated that none of my MPEG-2 decoders were compatible. I think that Media Player is free for Windows 8, but it doesn't have a MPEG-2 codec, so you will have to install one. There is a free player called VLC that is popular with the crowd of home theater and the codec.

  • Windows DVD creation - Windows 7

I just spent some time creating a DVD on the software above.  I added the MPEG 2 files that I converted from Daily Motion and it burned on a DVD. The instructions say:

  • Windows Media Player 12 - left / right channel audio

I have an mpeg file. He has left and right audio channel, speaking different languages. When I play the file, it defaults to the left channel, but I want to move to the right, but I can't seem to find the option.

Anyone know how to change the audio channel?

    Hi QYT,.

You can change the audio language, but not the audio playback channel. For more information on multichannel playback, see the link below.

To change the audio language, you can follow the steps below.

Click Start, select all programs and click on open Windows Media Player.

Press Alt on your keyboard and click on play, click on Audio and language tracksand by default.

In the default language Setup window, choose the language you want to display and click OK.

  • Iphone editing in Premiere Pro 6

Hi, can someone please guide me through the best way to import and edit images iphone 6 in Premiere Pro?

My problem is that the video and audio are out of sync.

The basic fix is to change the frame rate 'constant' before importing it at first.

    However...

Here's what I've tried and here are my problems.

    1. so first of all, here's what I do, I opened "Photos" on my Mac, import the video and then drag this file in my computer.

    2. If I take this file directly in the first, the video and audio are out of sync after 2 minutes.

    3. I'm so trying the brake hand and apply a constant rate. Handbrake did weird things to my video as change the aspect ratio and there is no way for me to cancel it in the settings of the image.

    4. I have try MPEG Streamclip. Sort of works, but even at 80 percent of quality, it lowers the resolution and that it increases the file size of 1 G to 6G! Also change the colouring a bit.

I've been dealing with this for a while and scroll through all the help topics and do not find a solution. Help, please!

    Thank you

Common problem with phone pictures (webcam, screencapture).

Converted with HandBrake constant framerate before importing in first

Select the file via the Finder. Try to avoid other programs import or something else.

  • Cuda not refreshing preview with a quadro... WHA?

Well, I have a weird problem with Premiere Pro 2014.

I'm editing on a completely new fairly decent Windows system: 8.1 Win pro 64-bit, 32 GB Ram, SSD and records all external references on the stroke of lightning 2 with a quadro graphics card running 2200.

I am currently editing the images of Dragon k 6-1/16 preview with all plugins turned off (a lot of time remapping, however).

Problem I have is that when running with cuda when I turn on the securities or (i.e. to watch the trail under the top) or even the simplest plug-ins or motion Panel (position or opacity) to change the preview window is not kept up-to-date until I move the cursor in the editing window.

This makes editing infuriatingly slow, any thoughts would be very welcome.

Tried clearing the cache, OpenCL is so incredibly slow and read by software while it works just kills me with the offset. Currently in RED movie editing mode.

This could be a problem with the video preview format?  Other options on the PC that I have-Frame Mpeg (to 2.4:1 i.e. 1920 x 800)?

    Thank you

Exactly what version of CC2014? From the output of 2014.2, today there was 4 versions.
