HP replaced my card mother e9150t and not the update of Windows Vista will not work.  I tried all the help which enter my product code.  Now what?

htrhise wrote: it was a good try.  After talking with HP support, I was informed that I had to upgrade my computer.  I could just change my turn inside since it was OK.  HP is not high on my list now.

Hello htrhise, can tell you if your motherboard of the system has been replaced by HP as part of the HPEliteDesktopSettlement program?

If that were the case, ask the administrator to the link in the previous post.

If the motherboard was not replaced as part of this program, you should contact the administrator for more information on how to get the motherboard replaced for free by HP.

Do not leave the HP support convince you that you need to update your system. Many people Support HP can't even aware of this program.

If you are unsuccessful in obtaining your motherboard replaced correctly, please after return.

There are other remedys to get there.

  • No sound from the computer with connected generic speakers VISTA SP2. Symbol pregnant shows active with the Digital Audio device.

I have vista SP2, I connected to generic stereo speakers using the green light at the back of the computer. Vista does not recognize the speakers. The speaker symbol at the bottom right shows "digital (HDMI) 2 high definition output audio device." It shows active. I had this problem before, and VISTA should pick up 'speakers' something to that effect. I have no sound until it captures "speakers". I can't get VISTA to recognize this. It keeps starting with the digital audio device. Don't know what to do, checked all the forums. It should just pick up these simple generic markets good speakers. Before SP2, I lose sound when VISTA is in standby mode. He would then turn off the stereo speaker and replace the digital output device driver... However since SP2 I can't get VISTA to recognize that I have just connected speakers and not a digital output device.

Yes, when I uninstalled the driver, THEN shut down the computer and then restarted, he picked up the device high definition audio "speakers" good pilot is NOT the

"digital (HDMI) 2 high definition audio output device that he used to pick up."

    I now have sound!

I hope that it stores the right driver now as in the past, when VISTA went into sleep mode, it will disable the speakers, and you have to restart every time.

    Thanks for your help.

You can add instructions to boumediene, the fact that you must RESTART your computer to search for new drivers, once you uninstall.

I can tell you how to make bootable disks, but you already have a disk.

He has changed since good means of XP repair install from disk by booting from it.

I would add that info to disk Bootable repair, just in case your DVD is a factory of one computer.

Download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

  • PC with Vista sp2 I can backup and reinstall on the new PC with Windows 7?

I bought a new PC with Windows 7 and you want to back up my old PC running Windows Vista SP2. Can I do a total back up and reinstall without jeopardizing the Windows 7? Or y at - it a program that moves from programs for me, instead of a return to the top?

    Hello

    You don't give enough information:

Read this about the legality of moving from an operating system:

If the computer/laptop came with Windows Vista preinstalled operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.), this product key provided with your computer/laptop to the OEM license preinstalled and is not transferable.

OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc.) is related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when dies of this machine.

Only retail Operating System license that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.

And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time.

    ______________________________________________

Years although it was licensed for retail sales of a clone of Vista that you want to move in all probability if boot not that this image contains drivers for the old Vista, not the most recent motherboard on Windows 7 computer.

And programs need to be reinstalled from the original media.

  • Cannot install Vista SP2 (or any other update) even after the KB947821 application

I tried for months getting my wife's cell phone to install SP2 and other updates of security, but they keep failing.  Microsoft's response is to use the analysis tool... but it does not work.

Unlike some others, the tool reports having installed successfully (KB947821v12) but I then try to install SP2 (or other updates from windows update) and I get an error message.

Try to install SP2 (KB948465) starting from the .exe downloaded from microsoft (have tried so many times, I couldn't wait to download each time!), gives me the message "Installtion failed", details show the 0x800f081f error code

Through windows update, I have the following four updates available, I have several times to install these and get the error code 8007371B for all:

  • I have XP SP2 and am unable to install SP3. Problems with Windows install & download manager.

I rebuilt a laptop from scratch using XP Home.  Currently, no software beyond basic MS core apps.  Not even MS Office.  I am trying to activate the automatic updates.

The error messages that I get point to Windows Installer and/or MS Download Manager, but these same problems prevent me from deleting/updating install or Download Manager.

If I run FixIt to activate the automatic updates to download SP3, the following error message is returned:
    _Windows Installer_
The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.
This can occur if Windows Installer is not correctly
    installed.  Contact your support team.

    If I try to manually download the SP3 (WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3 - x 86 - ENU.exe), the following error is returned:
    _Microsoft download Manager_
There was a problem opennig the Microsoft Download Manager.
Update your computer with Windows Service Pack 2 or later version to download
files using the Microsoft Download Manager.

I think I'll through in circles.   I need SP3 for automatic updates, but impossible to install SP3 since SP3 is not installed.  I must be missing something obvious, but I simply cannot get by.  I'd appreciate any help - thanks.

OK, I followed the link clicked on download, saved on my desktop, then tried to start the installation.  The returned message is:

    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?

We will disable the auto reboot first. It prevents Windows from automatically restarting if an error of Windows to fail. Choose that this option only if Windows is stuck in a loop where Windows fails, attempts to restart, and fails again repeatedly.

Now give us the exact error code?

  • Will I have to reactivate windows 7 after this update of the problems?

I've been using Microsoft Flight Simulator X Demo for a few weeks, but my material is not good enough to get a reasonable rate.
I love the program, so I bought a copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator Gold edition.
Before installing my copy of FSX Gold, I would like to update some of my hardware.

    My current set up is:

    Windows 7 Professional w/SP1 64-bit bought Jan 2012
ASRock M3A770DE 770 Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX motherboard.
    AMD Athlon II X 3 455 3.3 GHz Socket AM3.
    Memory: Crucial 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3 PC3-12800.
ATA (boot) hard drive ST3200822A (200G) purchased 2006 Jan.
Silicon image Sil 3114 SATA Raid controller.
    Card PCI-E SAPPHIRE HD 6450 1 GB DDR3 DVI - VGA - HDMI
    DVD - ROM drive.

I intend to do the following:
Keep the original motherboard Asrock M3A770DE, Crucial memory, raid controller and DVD - ROM.
Upgrade the processor AMD Athlon II X 3 455 with an AMD Phenom II x 6 1100t.
Update the graphics card Sapphire HD 6450 with an Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti.
Replace the hard drive ST3200822A with a 250 GB WD Velociraptor, the ST3200822A is eight years and well beyond its life expectancy.

The old processor and graphics card is going to be scrapped because they are very little value.
The old ST3200822A will be partitioned and formatted.

This will give me problems with the reactivation of windows 7?
I can't afford to buy another copy of Windows 7.

    Thank you very much
    Steven.

Yes, since you do not migrate the motherboard, you should be good. You will still need to reactivate by telephone but, so keep this in mind:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.
