I have Win7 Ultimate; I'm supposed to have installed on WinMediaPlayer... I don't. How to do it?

I don't know if I ever had it, or if I uninstalled it at some point in the past.  So far, I have always used other media players.

Now, I bought software that requires Windows Media Player to work.

Each MS support site that I visit tells me I'm already supposed to have on my system and didn't provide me with an installation file to download.

I tried to download or install the "Media Feature Pack", which is supposed to provide WMP for Windows 7 N and KN systems (that I don't have, but this is the closest I was able to do what I need).

I also tried to find/reinstall since my original DVD... Windows installation but I see only two options out there, "Upgrade of older Windows system" and "Custom", who says he is my current system completely wipes and reinstall from scratch.  I don't want that.

I want just a setup file.  Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

"Media Feature Pack" is not intended for you. What you were doing was not acceptable.

I have two bones store but I have installed Se7en Skin Pack 2 [1].0 Ultimate in xp and now my computer couldn't open xp.  How can I recover my file system through win7 that I should open up xp

    Hello

    Step 1:

I suggest you start in safe mode, and then you would be able to choose which version of Windows that you want to start in. See below section to start in safe mode-
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

    Step 2:
After entering in safe mode, you can try to use system restore to return to a previous point, until the software has been installed.

Note: When you use System restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To do this, there must be a restore point from the system in which the connection was successful.

Refer to the following help link on performing a system restore.

    I hope this helps.

  • upgrade to win7 ultimate (win7 home pro) I have to disable MSE?

Upgrade to win7 ultimate MSDN Version (OEM win7 home pro) I have to disable MSE?

I expected to get a Yes or no answer (e.g. YES, they are all three from MicroSoft product, that's why they work perfectly without disable MicroSoft Security Essentials; or NOT, they are all three EM produsts then, of course, you must disable MSE!)

It shouldn't be a problem when you upgrade.

In case you are facing any problem after upgrade, uninstall MSE and restart your PC and download and reinstall. However in the case of normal use, it shouldn't be a problem.

  • Satellite M100 - 165 PSMA1E - XP Pro updated to Win7 Ultimate problem

When installing Win7 Ultimate (Eng) with current XP Pro en shows system error (something like could not find a certain file) and the installation will stop.

At the beginning of the installation, I delete all partitions and create new ones.

At the same time Win7 creates, it's own partition with the size of 100 MB.

Using the same disk I installed Win7 on Compaq Presario CQ60 no problem. Also instead of XP Pro.

    What could be a problem?
I have to download and use a special software from Toshiba?

Currently I just get XP Pro using from an external drive USB Acronis Universal Restore.

I'd really appreciate for your help.

    Stand by?
First I would like to know which version are you trying to install?
I checked the Toshiba download page and saw that this old notebook is supported for Win7 32 bit only so I hope you are using the 32-bit version.

Are you using the original installation disc for Microsoft?
Usually clean Win7 installation should work without problems, especially if you make clean OS install. I ve tested on several old notebooks and didn't note any problem.

Set the BIOS to the default settings and try again.

  • Satellite A300 (PSAG8E) - hardware problems after I installed win7 ultimate

    Hello and good day,

I installed win7 ultimate a few days ago, windows was able to recognize most of my material accepts my build of microphone and camera and another component, I'm not sure what it is (Windows Update automatically downloaded the driver of sound and graphics for me).

My questions are - where you can find the remaining drivers and where can I get the preinstalled Toshiba tools and software? (The site pilot in the support page Toshiba does not include drivers and software)

    Thank you very much
    King Ben Simon

    Hello

I have the Satellite A300 (PSAG8E) too and installed Win7 Home premium and everything works perfectly.

Initially, I must say that I do not know where you are looking for the drivers and tools of Toshiba and that all things because utilities are downloadable on support Toshiba & download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

It is logical that MIC will not work if you have not installed the appropriate driver. Installing drivers only and not using Microsoft update. What you need are the real and tested and not some free drivers of the internet.

Go to the Toshiba download page and install all the stuff following this order of installations:
    -Win7
    -chipset driver
    -Storage Manager
    -display driver
    -driver sound
    -modem driver
    -utility supervisor
    -infrared
    -patches
    -configfree
    -VAP
    Hardware - toshiba
    Control - HDMI
    -WLAN driver

Everything works well but lacks some drivers

    Added Vista tips:
Toshiba - help - working properly
    -Card reader - installed correctly
-Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - works correctly.
    Driver - Synaptics

  • Win7 Ultimate 32 bit drivers for VPCCW21FX

    Hello
    I have a VAIO VPCCW21FX.
Could you please help me find Win7 ultimate 32 Bit drivers for this?
    TNX

The VPCCW21FX is only supported by Sony for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (this is the original operating system) and XP. However you may find that much of the software/drivers on the support site can work properly on your system (try the XP version if version 7 does not work because it will be 32-bit). All other drivers are on different sites of the manufacturer (Nvidia, Marvell), but yet again, they will not be supported by Sony.

I'm not happy with my Win Vista Home premium SP1 base system so I want to upgrade to Win7 Ultimate, but would like to know how much I have to pay for it.

    Hello

Go to your laptop manufacturer's website and check if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=20

Check if your specifications are compatible for Windows 7:

    "Windows 7 system requirements"

"Windows 7 Compatibility Center" for software and hardware:

    Windows 7 upgrade paths:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd772579 (v = ws.10) .aspx

And the Microsoft Store where you can get an idea of the price of Windows 7:

  • Win7 Ultimate upgrade Windows 8.0 Pro

I bought a Win Pro 8 upgrade of Microsoft almost 2 years ago. For various reasons I never had time to upgrade my system Win7 Ultimate.

Now I have time to do when I run the Setup on the DVD upgrade, I find that I am only offered two options - save personal files or anything. I don't get the 3rd option I expected to "keep the applications and personal files. Is it possible to move from Win 7 to 8.0 to win and keep all my applications?

I saw the messages that say that you can not keep your applications when you upgrade to 8.1 but nothing associated with 8.0 upgrades. I would be grateful if someone can provide a solution. Thank you very much

Thanks to Andrew for his pointer.

I followed the recommendation and he provided me with the additional option I was looking for.

  • Photosmart 7960 + Win7 (ultimate 64-bit)

    Hello

I have Photosmart 7960 connectd to a print server in my network. HP has not (yet?) Win7 drivers for it, but the download page of the pilot says "a full set of features of software and the driver for Windows 7 is not available for your product. However, the Windows 7 operating system that is installed on your computer contains a solution to your product base driver. »

I tried to install a network printer, and since the drivers of ofer canoe of print server, I tried to manually select the correct driver. However, I wasn't able to find the driver for photosmart 7960 series.

Where can I find the driver for Photosmart 7960 for Win7 (ultimate 64-bit)? Vista 64-bit driver is available, then, what is the problem, why HP does not have native drivers in Win7?

    -Paavo

Install the driver Vista 64 site Internet HP here.  After that the message the drivers have been installed and say connect you can cancel.  The drivers will then be available in respect of Hewlett-Packard as shown below.
