When trying to install a few useful programs, I met a problem: I have download the installation files and try to run them, but nothing is really happening. I get the "Open file - security warning" screen, and I click on 'Allow' or 'Run' or something. Then nothing. If I go in the Manager of tasks, I find the executed program, ostensibly at the bottom of the list using 100 K of memory, but the installers never open and nothing never progresses beyond this point.

  I'm running on the Administrator profile, and I even tried clicking on "Run as Administrator". Nothing helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  OK, so I just Windows 7.  I am trying to save documents that my teachers put up online in the form of a pdf file.  However when I try to open them I recorded them in Picasa it appears as a black box, saying "invalid Image".  In the Photo Viewer Windows it says "Could not be opened because the file format is not supported or you do not have the latest updates for the Windows Photo Viewer."  But I installed the latest version, as well as the latest Picasa.
