  Adding to what James said, this is true for Lightroom and Photoshop. In other words, do not necessarily install previous versions, but all by installing the latest versions, in this case 5 Lightroom and PS CS6, you key in series for previous versions as well with the current criteria.

  The oldest is compared to newer operating systems, it is less likely to work.  If you have been happy with the help of Photoshop 7 then you should be happy with the old operating system as well.  Your options are either to return to a system that supports your software or to buy new software to go with the new system.  CS6 products are still selling as far as I know.  In addition, your only option is to subscribe to the cloud of Creative for Photoshop CC.

  I googled the error and found a download from Microsoft who fixed a similar problem in Windows 8. I'm a little worried to start installation in Windows 10. The name of the file is vcredist_x64.exe. It is a Visual C++ redistributable file.

  If you install Creative cloud on a computer where you already have programs in the Creative Suite 6 (CS6) installed, it will activate these apps with creative cloud because CS6 is also provided with Creative Cloud.   Although Adobe indicates that you install the application on the main drive, it is possible to change the destination of the installation of creative cloud app preferences. Please note that there will always be shared resources stored on your primary drive.  In addition, temporary files will be created on your main drive during the installation process. The Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application will remain on the default drive. If you have already installed the application, you must uninstall, change the destination drive, reboot the machine and then install the application.
