  Versions of Windows beyond Windows XP are not entirely compatible with Acrobat 6. The first version of Acrobat that is supported by Windows 7 is Acrobat 8.1 (is no longer licensed by Adobe). The latest version of Acrobat: Acrobat Columbia, six versions more recent than Acrobat 6. You need to upgrade to get all the features of Acrobat.

  A "quick" fix that worked for me was to uninstall Adobe... and download Adobe Reader 11.0 installation base.

  Then download each individual updates and run them sequentially.

  I installed back to the last update of security which is version 08 and were able to register under normal operations.

  You will need to disable the automatic updates to keep up with the 08 version, until Adobe fixes this problem in a future release.

  Despite this, I suspect that you probably have a Win8, 64-bit system. Even with WIn7, you would have to make workarounds to use AA 7 32-bit. It is not compatible with the new OSs. Workarounds can be made, but are not worth it, unless you are not just buying the new AA XI. So, even with the link, don't wait the installation and use of AA 7 on a new system to go well.

  If you really have 7.0, you must download the 7.1 update and install first. Then 7.1. then 7.2. (if exists), then 7.1.3.
