  Restart the computer and start typing the F8 key

  Select Mode safe mode with networking

  Download the following tool and run a scan complete your system

  Next, while still in safe mode with network to download following tool and run a full scan

  http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=16

  Still in safe mode, open the command prompt window

  Start > run

  Type sfc/scannow

  Click OK

  Note: There is a space between sfc and / scannow

  You may be asked for your Windows Recovery CD/DVD is missing or corrupt files are so it is close.

  Restart the computer and let windows load.

  You are able to access your desktop?

• How can I activate windows Defender, and where can I find?

  I tried finding the Windows Defender application, but can not.  Any ideas how I can find and put in operation?  I stopped using another product of virus protection, and now I need to get this sort that I do not know if windows 8 is as safe as it should be.   You will need to uninstall Norton... You'd better go to their website for their removal tool. Simply uninstalling was reported to leave artifacts that still block Windows Defender.

  In fact, Norton can offer better protection, but of how much better, you could try a search for comments and/or a comparison... Norton will probably slow down your machine more than the Defender, but I have not tried lately to say how much.

  Most likely the Office 365 is a trial provided by the manufacturer of the computer for which you will have to pay for eventually... just a guess but.

• Firefox v5 will not grow to fill my screen in Windows 7 and I can't find anyway to to extend... I customized to 135% of IE9 and I have no problem setting that. Help!

  Every time I open Firefox V5 (same thing happens in V4) the screen comes up with about 1.5 inches of free space on both sides of the screen (left and right).

  I can't find anyway to HELP or any where else in Firefox for adjustments to correct this.

  In IE9 (you must have IE on your computer t run WINDOWS because it is part of the operating system) and MS allows you a multitude of options to the scale of the page.

  I have used Firefox for a long time and had a good part of the files of bookmarks and always had my account logged in the browser. But then formatted my computer driver problems cause random I had, but didn't think to make a backup file, or something of the sort on the browser history and bookmarks. I thought when you are connected again in Firefox I wish my things back again, like Chrome. But now, after spending some time in the support page, trying to figure out how to get my favorites is closest to my problem that I get when you refresh the browser you reimport bookmarks of an already existing folder, if well I don't have that at all. I'm here now to ask if it is possible to get my favorites yet somehow.
