I lost my files, how restore or recreate a link to them?

In my old file folder, all my videos are deleted. I don't then expand the folder and I can't import all of the files in the folder.

Please provide more details.

Is the folder that you are referring to a folder in the Finder?

Please post a screenshot of it.

What were you doing when this behavior looked at first? For example, it was after an update of the OS or FCP X?

  • Windows xp, I deleted a user and now I lost the files; How can I get it back?

I got 2 user accounts. However, never used the 2nd - or so I thought - so I removed it.  When I deleted this user, the file with the same name on the other account also disappeared!  I tried restoring and that did not work.  I knew that one of the names in the file deleted from an excel file and done a search that search in hidden files - nothing.  Help please (Yes that I should have backed up before I deleted - I saved the office but not this file.  sigh:(Merci pour votre aide)

    Hi christinecarrington,

You can use any third-party application to recover data lost by using your favorite search engine.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • I lost my files - how to recover them?

    HI GUYS,.

Recently, I realized that some videos and image files simply disappear from my HD.

I need a disaster recovery software, fast file recovery

I think it was deleting the file an accident or a hardware failure, but not a virus attack!

What I should do or try?

I found a few links that says who could help with some software:

    http://www.TODO-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm
    http://www.EASEUS-deletedrecovery.com/

It is the only way to recover my files?

I am a beginner and I have no money and time paid toshiba to get back my Actualy HD, it's 4 files, but it is very important for me.

    Thank you!

Check your software viruses journal - if files had virus signatures it will be deleted or moved. If you have removed them, they may be recoverable. You have identified two undelete programs and here's a third free:

  • Recreate a link makes a big assumption

I just moved all my links to another folder and has reopened the case. CS4 was told all the links have been exceeded, and to use the command to repeat to recreate a link to them, that's what I was planning to do. I made one, and then all the rest have been updated automatically. Seems to be rather a big assumption is from InDesign, without asking me, I want the rest of the relinked images. Or smart InDesign that it has detected that all files under unchanged form had been moved to a new folder, he knew that he formulated a safe assumption?

Find links in the same folder is an option...

I broke some links on a document, and the box "Find missing links..." "is checked by default. Turn it off and you can link to a single file.

Restoring to factory settings formats the disc, and which erases
everything what he. You probably get something new, but you can
try to do a search on the web for a recovery program that unformats the reader
    like here: http://www.easeus.com/resource/unformat.htm

If you unformat the drive successfully and can recover lost files
back, the first thing you should do copy on an external
(CD, DVD, USB sticks, external hard drives, etc.).
    Two other points/questions:

    1. why restore you to the factory settings? This is usually the worst
approach to solve a problem, there's a lot of extra long hard
work and often leads to problems of its own (as it did here).

    2. I assume you have no backup on external media from your
photos of important files etc. In this case. you played with
the fire. You can read this article on the backup that I wrote:

I lost my files in my outlook express Inbox. How can I get back them?

The email you see in sent items. Is - this mail you thought you deleted a long time ago? If so, it almost sounds like you had an old identity.

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :

    Recovery tools:

If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

computer crashed, have windows vista, indented leave, all the documents lost, can I get all the files, how to do it, in simple terms,

    Thank you.

If by "computer of new beginning" you mean that you have started your recovery or disk restore factory set and reinstalled Windows, then the ability to recover your files is practically zero.  You can try a utility like Recuva (http://www.piriform.com/recuva) but since you have rewritten the entire hard drive, it is highly unlikely that anything will be recoverable.

Help us understand what "I lost the ability to restore the system" actually mean for you...

Are you unable to launch/open the system restore?
Are you unable to create a new Restore Point manually?
Your system restore calendar is empty dates?
You preform a restore and get a message that has failed or nothing has changed?

If the restore in safe mode will not do, keep reading:

It would be useful to know a few things about your system:

What is your system brand and model?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

What do you see (exactly) that you don't think you should see, and when you see it?

What do not you think that you should see?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

so can get us this or can't do?

    You seem to have:
    (a) old version of data through rman backup files
    (b) old version of the control file
    (c) Backed archived redo logs
    (d) recovery archived logs that have been recently generated
    (e) current online redo logs

Therefore, you should be able to bring back the database in the State wherever it was when you made the abandonment.
I don't do enough laps to be able to cite details on the commands to use (and I often find myself using the command line recovery after that file of rman restore, but the steps you need must be)

Take a copy of security of the data current, archived and online redo log files.
Restore the backup control file, data files, and archived recovery logs
Recover the database by using up to cancel backup control file
You have to do 'create datafile' bit as the collection hits the 'missing file' bit
You will need to provide the names of the archived and log files online redo recovery reached their
(although, presumably, you could leave copies of the logs stored in the default location)

  • How can I recover a site Muse to my computer after it broke down and I lost the files?

How can I recover a site Muse, who was transferred to Business Catalyst to my computer after my system crashed and I lost the files?

    Hello

Adobe Muse does not backup the Muse file while editing. As a best practice, you should take backup of the Muse file manually and save it to disk or online.

Unfortunately, it can not be recovered today.

  • Lost sound laptop-ATI and IDT files deleted, restored, but still no sound

    Hello

By mistake I deleted files ATI high definition Audio Device and IDT Audio Codec.

When I realized that these were system files I restored them and reloaded the drivers, but I have still no sound and YouTube videos crash after about 10 seconds.

I checked the drivers in the Device Manager and for the IDT Codec, I get:

"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)  "

    Ideas everyone.

    Thank you

    Success!

In 'Control Panel' came in "Troubleshooting" and then "hardware and sound" and then under "Sound" automatically reloaded the drivers and it works again.

In "Setup/sound Panel" under 'Record and playback' IDT HD Audio CODEC drivers have reinstalled for speakers and headphones etc..

    Have all the sounds back
