Recreate a link makes a big assumption

I just moved all my links to another folder and has reopened the case. CS4 was told all the links have been exceeded, and to use the command to repeat to recreate a link to them, that's what I was planning to do. I made one, and then all the rest have been updated automatically. Seems to be rather a big assumption is from InDesign, without asking me, I want the rest of the relinked images. Or smart InDesign that it has detected that all files under unchanged form had been moved to a new folder, he knew that he formulated a safe assumption?

Find links in the same folder is an option...

I broke some links on a document, and the box "Find missing links..." "is checked by default. Turn it off and you can link to a single file.

  • Any way to recreate a link to 50 pictures at once without matching filenames? that is by replacing the links existing and just replace with new ones?

    I wonder if this can be done with a script in InDesign. I work in 2015 CC and am aware of mobility + select all the links in my control panel links, then click the 'Repeat' in order to recreate a link to each one in succession. But this method still requires me to click on the link I want 50 times, in order to link to these new images in the dialog box that appears.

    That I work with, it's an InDesign file that has 50 different related images, all the same size. They are all small JPEGs arranged in a grid. I create a PDF of each sheet of 50. I need to make several sheets, and each of the 50 images is unique and should not be repeated, so filenames are all unique, so why InDesign is unable (and in this case shouldn't) link to each of them by using the option 'search for missing links in this folder. In order to make each sheet, currently I have to select each JPEG link in the links Panel and manually connect it to a different file name, is not equivalent. It takes me some time.

    Is it possible to automate this process for I can select all 50 instances of links essentially and force InDesign be reprinted at 50 other, even in form and oriented files with no corresponding names, is one fell swoop?

    Hope that makes sense. Until then I will be here by clicking on

    This is easily achievable with data fusion. You must copy your file in an excel worksheet names and the column with the name "@ at the beginning, if InDesign will be acknowledged that they should be images." Then set up a module on the page, and you'll be ready to go.

    What kind of image is in a document. INDD so when the file is opened you get the message 'document contains 6 links to sources that are missing' and when you click OK to recreate a link to missing files, the document opens with the images? Missing images are not on my computer, but when the document opens the images are there. I can copy and paste the INDD images in Illustrator. Y files/images/I am able to copy and paste the images that have been incorporated into the INDD file in AI of the INDD file? If this is not what type of image am I copy and paste? Can I take the images that I stuck in there and place them in a new INDD document and have the images to reproduce without problems?

    The images could be anything - check the links Panel.

    What you see (and copy) is just the screen preview, not the actual image data.

  • Illustrator CC 2014 randomly loses the ability to recreate a link/link/site graphics

    I help troubleshoot a client who is having problems with Illustrator on his Mac (note: I'm not a person of illustrator, I just help troubleshoot)

    After opening some files .ai, she is able to recreate a link/link/location charts several times without any problems and then after some time (varies from 2 to 10 times), "Place" or "D-link" stops, bringing back to the top of the browser window.

    On another file, where the existing linked graphics (Qty 5) have been renamed, it asks to connect the first two and jumps to the top of the window navigation, but on the third, as soon as we click on recreating a link, it is not the browser pop-up window, but opens the file with the 3 remaining graphics not appearing do not.  Then we can try to recreate a link/place/etc and nothing happens.

    I tried to uninstall/reinstall including remove the plugins files and .plist files, removing recently added fonts, clearing the cache of fonts, disable plugins, disabling extensions, but nothing appears to fix it.  Installation is running on creative cloud, which is set up to keep the application up-to-date, so my suspicion is that a recent update of OS X or CC caused the problem, however the user could not identify for me how long his current summer.  OS X is yosemite and is up to date.

    Is the browser set up window to view "columns"? Set it to something else. "Cover flow" could cause problems as well, "list" should work.

  • Best way to recreate a link to articles when re-edit the link is grayed?

    I am responsible for updating a folio created by another agency and hosted by the customer. All I have to do is re-edit my InDesign files updated the current articles, given that the changes are small, but the statutes of the folio the customer gave me access to (shared with me) are grayed out. It seems that I have access to other changes, but not republished. Is this a problem of permission on the client side, or am I missing something obvious?  I don't know the best/better way to proceed. We do not use an xml file. Thank you.

    You can only do if you own. You can copy the folio so you admit it and then recreate a link to everything.

  • How to make a big screen menu? It is constantly on full screen

    I can't seem to make a big screen menu, and I can't understand why.

    The image is wide. In photoshop, it's the big screen.

    When I burn it and place it on a big screen tv - it is full screen.

    Play video files correctly. Only the menu going to full screen, regardless of the fact that I put the menu in photoshop to 1440 x 1080.

    I created the menu by clicking file-> new menu. Then I open it in Photoshop, where he missed to 720 x 480 (but looks like a square). I have change the canvas at 1440 x 1080 and bring up the menu, but in another, it's a place again.

    What I am doing wrong?

    TIA!

    I see your responses to e-mail, but not here. very weird!  Are just curious, respond you by e-mail or via the web in the forum directly?

    The blank menu means Ann is also a model.

    You ask how do without models.  In photoshop, just keep the size 720 x 480, then go to view-> pixel format and make sure that it is set to 1.21 (D1/DV NTSC widescreen).  You should also pay attention to the question of whether you have Photoshop set to correct proportions or not.  That will not affect how he handles the yet, but it will affect what you see in Photoshop.

    And also, make sure that it is set to 16:9 in yet.

    All your items must have the Sea rights or you get strange results.

    It is possible to do this in Photoshop in square pixels, but we have seen reports of strange results.  I think that those who are probably user error, but now that the programs handle the Fars, why create problems?

    Edit: now that I answered, your messages are here!

  • PSD to recreate a link with the layermask or layers in Indesign

    Hai,

    I wrote several scenarios to recreate a link to the pictures from one place to the other.

    but when you use a file .psd with more then 1 layer or layermasks

    and during the first connection with the PSD, with importoptions one or several layers of the .psd are disabled.

    restoring links automatically with a (java) script causes all the visible PSD layers in Indesign files

    I do not found all the properties of binding to reallocate after the reissue link

    example of the script so far:

    theDoc var = app.activeDocument;

    var low = "72 dpi";

    Top Var = "300 DPI";

    var theDoc.allGraphics = myImages;

    for (i = myImages.length - 1; i > = 0; i--) {}

    var myImage = myImages [i] .itemLink;

    var org_path = myImage.filePath;

    org_path = org_path.replace(low,high);

    var myNewName = org_path;

    var myNewLink = new queue (myNewName);

    if {(myNewLink.exists)

    myImage.relink (myNewLink);

    myImage.update ();

    }

    }

    there in the Indesign of DOM properties and methods to manipulate re-edit it according to the old link

    change only the linkpath. Not found so for.

    There is "link.properties", which is the index?

    var theDoc = app.activeDocument;
    var low ="72dpi";
    var high = "300dpi";
    var myImages = theDoc.allGraphics;

    for (var g = 0; g < myImages.length; g++) {
         myImages[g].graphicLayerOptions.updateLinkOption = UpdateLinkOptions.KEEP_OVERRIDES;
    }

    myImages = theDoc.allGraphics;

    for (i = myImages.length-1; i >= 0 ; i--) {
         var myImage = myImages[i].itemLink;
         var org_path = myImage.filePath;

    Everything is fine with Chrome and Android Browser in this example: http://jsfiddle.net/6512pu9b/6/

    But in Firefox mobile, touch the lines that are not links in the following example causes one of the links to be activated.

    Is it possible to make mobile Firefox behave like the other browsers?

    Temporary solution:

    Adding an attribute "onclick" (either if empty or not) to each element not coupled makes palpable in the Firefox browser.

    This can be achieved by a small loop of JavaScript.

    Hello

    You can create the database links using "current user" style - in order to not specify a user or a password. If the source and destination game, then it will connect - see demo below. If you update the password on both ends at the same then the link continues to operate.

  • "Recreate a link to the files automatically" does not

    Recently, I have re-wrapped 1000 + Cineform AVI files Cineform MOV files to take advantage of the native support PP Cineform MOV files.  The names of files remained exactly the same, but the file extension changed to AVI to MOV format.  I'm trying to add a link to AVI files now for re-packed MOV files offline and have no chance.  He wants me to add a link to each one manually.  Not good for 1000 files +.  In the dialog "link media", I "Filename" checked and "others connect automatically." "" File extension"is not checked.  I'm doing something wrong or is this a bug?  Thanks for any help!

    Windows 8.1 Pro

    Latest PP CC 2014

    I7 5930 k, 48 GB of ram, multimedia files on a raid 0, the project files on SSD

    Quadro gpu k4000

    I have seen others with this problem. don't know why this does not work, or if others found a fix...

    what you can try is to modify the project file manually to change the names of .avi into .mov files.  first make a backup of the project file.

    the .prproj file is a compressed xml, so rename it to .zip and extract it. Open this file in a text editor and replace by .mov .avi that will allow some text editors to replace all.  then rename the .prproj file and open with first.   If you need programs to do this, 7zip and notepad ++ are free programs.

  • InDesign CS5 v7.0.4 "Recreate a link to file Extension" does not not, impossible to jpg files

    July 25, 2011 11:57

    This issue is no answer.

    Some tips on how to get the function of 'Linking the file Extension' in the drop down menu of links to work?

    I am trying to share a bunch of rgb jpg to psd CMYK files by using this feature, but it does not work.

    I get the message: "cannot find links. These links have not been connected and will remain selected in the links Panel. »

    I packed the file with rgb jpg and place the psd CMYK files in the folder of links packaged and attempted to link to them, but the ID cannot bind to the PSD. Although I am able to place them one at a time.

    Is there a way to clean ID's preferences, or another trick to get this feature working properly?

    see you soon

    Make sure that you are NOT including the '. ' before the new extension.

  • When I hover over a link, Firefox adds the site before my link makes it bad.

    I was check the compatibility of my site. So I opened http://www.sethermal.com. It was fine until I flew over a link. Firefox has added the site and broke the link.

    For example.
    I entered the address bar www.sethermal.com . The site came fine.
    I hover over the 'Site Map' link on my page. Link is http://www.sethermal.com/pages/site-map.html
    Before clicking on the link, I looked down and Firefox shows www.sethermal.com/-www.sethermal.com\pages\site-map.html
    When I click on the link of course I 404 page not found

    Why is this happening?

    These links have a backslash instead of a slash.
    Firefox is not so forgiving as other browsers and treats a backslash as a character valid and thus prefixes links with the URL of the page.
