    Hello Demars_will,

Thank you for your message.  There are a few known bugs for this problem.  Try these two steps:

    Try first to this step:
Put your XP CD in the CD drive.
Click "Start" > click "Run" > Type EXPAND/r 'TheCDDriveLetter' \i386\SPOOLSV. EXE C:\Windows\System32 and press "Enter."

On the right, locate and double-click "Print Spooler" > auto value startup > select 'Start' > click 'Apply and OK.

A test to see if the spooler has begun.

If this is not the case, click HERE for a registry change that may solve your problem.  There are a few different registry changes, I don't know if you have tried this one or not.

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

  • I am running Microsoft Windows XP Home edition Version 2002 Service pack 3, use the 32-bit or 64-bit upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium?

running Microsoft Windows XP Home edition Version 2002 Service pack 3, used the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade?

I followed the instructions on the card that came with the software... indicating that, if I look at my computer it was telling me that my computer works... either 64 or 32, but it does not work.  So my question is, how do you know?

You probably have the 32-bit version of XP (in most individuals, and if your system properties page does not have 64-bit, then you have 32-bit.)

However, if you now have XP 32 - bit or 64-bit XP isn't the issue that relate to your decision to install 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7.  This decision depends on the question to know if your hardware can support a 64-bit operating system.  In this regard, the main reason for users to install a 64-bit operating system is to allow the use of more than 4 GB of RAM.  If your hardware does support more than 4 GB of RAM, there is no interest to install the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

You run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor?  With what results?

Click Start > run and type msinfo32 in the "Open" box and click OK.
After the system information window has had time fill, click Edit > select all, and then click Edit > copy.

  • Ehshell.exe error with Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002, service pack 3

Running Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with service pack 3.  I get the ehshell.exe error when I try to watch live TV.  It crashes, debug and I usually won't have to ctrl-alt-del to get anywhere.  Do not seem to have this problem before I added various updates etc, tv was fine before this date.

I'm not particularly computer so nice easy steps please...!

    Thank you, Nicholas

Ehshell.exe is a Windows system file that is used to run Microsoft Media Center. It is not a critical system file. However, the ehshell.exe file can become infected and cause errors trying to run certain programs. If the ehshell.exe is absent, it can also cause errors. Reinstall a clean copy of ehshell.exe with the Microsoft System Restore.

      • 1

Click on the "Start" menu, then click on "programs". Scroll down and click on "Accessories," then "system tools." Click "system restore."

      • 2

Click 'Next' in the window system restore for a list of points of restoration which has been archived.

      • 3

Select a restore point created before the ehshell.exe file becomes corrupt or got deleted. If no restore point until this time is listed, click on "Show restore points more" to select the one that is before this date. Click 'Next' to choose which restore point.

      • 4

Click 'Finish' to start the system restore. The computer will restart once the process is complete and the ehshell.exe file is reinstalled.

  • Problem with my pc running on Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3

Whenever I started in the last 2 weeks the date and time did not update automatically.

Despite the manual update each time by clicking on 'Apply' then 'ok' it still does not next time.

Example of today, the system was still dated Saturday last about 21:35, although the actual date and time was 12/11/11 and 11:22!

    Antivirus running analyses are virus-free.

The system works well, it's just that niggling question.

    Advice appreciated, thanks.

See your regional and Language Options in Control Panel and make sure you're ready for the correct location.  Also, I would check under Date and time and check your time zone.

    Hello

Do you have an error message when you try to install updates?

I suggest that you put your machine in a clean boot State, then try to install the updates. I suspect the involvement of a third party software conflict.

Note: Do not forget to put your computer in normal mode.

It is there no other upgrade than to buy a new computer with a modern operating system of Windows 7 installed.

  • Updates do not install, if my story on Microsoft says they are.

When I check my story on microsoft it shows the installed updates have not been installed on my computer on the list of my computer (that I can remember plus how to find right now!).  It's not little, my list is filled with errors.

I tried to free up space because I constantly get the message that I am running low on virtual memory space. Internet Explorer is also freeze all the time. I didn't know if these updates, what I don't get are related to all the other problems I encounter.

I was wondering also how long updates must be kept, I have updates which dates back to 2006, I can keep them forever, or can they be deleted?

You can use this to check your update (single-use PC too)-

Microsoft - Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer.
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-AU/security/cc184924.aspx

    Clear Windows update history

All you need to do is remove all the contents of the DataStore folder
    Start, run, type: %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\
This opens the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder, which is normally found in C:\Windows
