I'm looking for large files on my C: drive?

I need to wipe my hard drive.

Obviously, I can look through all my folders and subfolders, but it will take a lot of time. Is it possible to find the largest files specifically, so I don't have to waste a lot of time searching through many files?

Thank you.

You're right, it's too long to post here. I tried to send mine here. No go.

    I only suggest:

    1. use Windows Live Skydrive to transfer the cbs log. Then send us a link in the newspaper.
But apparently you don't have SkyDrive.

SkyDrive is free and is part of the Windows Live products. Consider installing it.

    Hello

    ·         Is that what the problem is with a specific file extension?

    ·         How long have you been faced with this problem?

    ·         You did it last changes before the show?

Follow the steps below to solve the problem:

    Method 1:

If you have problems of location of the files, folders, or other items on your computer, try using the search and indexing of troubleshooting to solve the problem. It ensures that the Windows Search service is running and checks if you have the correct permissions to search all the directories on your computer.

See the article below for additional information and steps.

Open the troubleshooter for search and indexing

    Method 2:

Also I ask you to re - index files and then check. Follow the artticle below for the procedure.

    Change advanced indexing options

  • Thumbnails for large files

Ok.. so now, I learned, to my great filesJe panorama wont get a thumbnail in the Organizer. Just a warning blue Triangle with a exclamation point. I assign works of golf course where I point phototos and impression 38 x 11 inches at 300 dpi.

So what is the work around? Is it a problem in the submission program Photoshop? Course I can... copy the file... reduce the resolution... Save it with a different name... etc.

What the heck!  You can't tell me that the authors of the program from Adobe can do this job for large files!  Why the limit?  By the way... What is the limit?

    Thank you

  • looking for a file in the disk

Hello and greeting to your friend,

I'm looking for a command or a small program that displayed the files by their names in directories and returns a Boolean value, true if the file exists and, if mistakes.

    Thank you

You can use the recursive file list feature to create an array of file names. Then do a string search in this table:

Your regalar expression would be "^ foo". Refer to "Match Regular Expression" primitive for more information on regular expressions. Also you can watch here in the forums since it is a regularly discussed topic and, unfortunately, not too easy at first...

  • When I look for a file in Win Explorer, I get a list of files in the search results. But some of the files seem to be missing. I get a message that the directory is not found when I try to open the search results.

I wonder if what's on my hard drive and if what Win Explorer is on my hard drive are two different things.

If I do a search in Win Explorer to "purple", I get a number of results.
(To search for a file, I am in the word "Purple" in the search field in the upper right Win Explorer and pressing the "Enter" button).

There are a couple of JPG files that I wonder about the search results.
    One example is called "purple_flowers.jpg".
When I double-click this file in the search results to open it, my paint program opens and gives me a message that the directory is not found. If I use MS Paint to try and open it by double-clicking on the file and selecting "open with...". MS Paint", I get a message that the directory is not valid.

The location of the directory on the error message is the blue 'Images' folder for my user. But, when I opened this file, I don't have a file with that name in this directory. The same thing happens with another JPG file, called "octopus.jpg" when I search the word 'Octopus '.

Is this something messed up between what I have on my hard drive and think what Win Explorer is on my hard drive?
    How can I fix?
Something must be reset in Win Explorer?

I could have the JPG files with these names at the same time. I had a large library of images for a project, but I deleted it.
(I tried to turn on the option to show hidden files in this directory, but that did not help).

    Imane:

I thank very you much for that answer.
But it seems to have stumbled on the solution:

    Strangely, this worked:

    (Maybe you know why).

I moved the files in my blue images folder in another folder, delete the folder images blue, emptied the Recycle Bin and rebooted my computer.

When my computer has finished its startup routines, my folder of photos blue was there! And he had the shortcut to the folder 'Sample Pictures' inside.

When I searched "the Octopus" and "purple", I no longer saw these JPG files in the search results.

I don't really know what happened, but I thought that after these results just in case someone else knows this.

I'll read and watch in your information. I don't want to know more about what is happening in my computer.

  • Help/tips to set the performance preference. FOR large files.

    Hello

I work with large files for prints of fashion.

I did some research several sites and manuals, tried various settings, but it did not help.

Average sizes are 100x100cm with 300 dpi.

+ Think it takes to save and it takes a lot to apply filters. E.g. liquefy.

What is the best setting to improve performance ?

    Memory usage . I leave in 70% (I have 10 GB)

    History States: 20

Cache Levels: used in 1 and moved to 8, which is the best option? my files are large and with some 20 layers.

Cache Tile Size: Used with 128 and 1024, don't know which one is better??

Scratch Disk: Use the primary and secondary? Also the external?

Chart Processor: use in basic or advanced mode?

My files are on average with 1.5 GB to 700 MB

It is best of save in PSD or PSB?

    Thank you!

    My system :

    Photoshop CS6

    Windows 7 64bits

    10Go of Memory ram

    NVIDIA video card, 2 GB

HD Master : 100 GB free

    Secondary HD: 30 GB free

External hard drive : Samsung 300 GB free

Use a flash drive with 6 GB of readyboost.

    After many attempts.

    tested for 30 days.

    Configuration which had better results.

    Memory: 70%

History States: 20 (I prefer a large number)

    Cache levels: 4 or 6

    Tile cache size: 128 k

    Cratch disc

1st master (where is windows and my files)

    2nd external hard drive USB

    Chart peak: Advanced

    activate the chart use...

    Enable Anti-aliasing...

    Clear the bit 30...

Now I have "purge all" every 15 minutes.

  • Please advise a computer artist from novice about requirements for large files in PS?

I am researching my next computer.

I'm an artist currently using CS2 to rework my paintings into prints.

    http://s719.Photobucket.com/albums/ww198/blueridernz/Rachel%20Thompson%20Portfolio/?albumv iew = slide show

The paintings have been digitized in high resolution and are 500 MB.

Image files I work with are large, but the process is simple, I'm extracting and collages.

    Nothing too technical here.

As I need to print large, 9' x 4', the end result file could be 2 GB which I understand is the limit for PSD files.

I'm not games or editing video, just files work with large images.

    What I've read I think I need

    Core i7

Game 12 of 3 GB RAM

    GeForce GTX 460

    Any advice appreciated,

    Rachel.

The graphics card is perhaps a little exaggerated, if you paint really just and retouching in PS. A less hungry and less expensive model power would do the trick. The rest should do just fine, but remember that it will not do much good if you don't get a 64-bit operating system and may also upgrade CS5 to make use of all these resources. You might not even be able to install CS2 on Windows 7...

  • RTMP for large file

I want flash files continuously in the rtmp Protocol, but if the files are large the only possible protocol is HTTP (with his progressive download).

There is a way to reproduce the large file with the rtmp Protocol (I work with 30 MB file). If I try to reproduce the file with the RTMP protocol, they remain on hold without any error message.

    Thanks for any answers

If you want server the file on HTTP and RTMP, place the file in the webroot\vod folder. If you want to stream the file on RTMP only, place the file in applications\vod\media. You don't need to put the file in both folders.

Access the file with the same URL: rtmp://IP/vod/filename

If you place the file in the webroot\vod folder, use http://IP/vod/filename.flv to access the file.

With RTMP, don't not specify file extension ".flv" for FLV files. For MP4 files, use "mp4:filename.mp4". (or .f4v, .mov, etc.).

With HTTP, specify the file to FLV files extension. For MP4 files, use ' filename.mp4) (or.f4v, .mov, etc.).

    HTH,

    Jody
