I'm not able to create a catalog on a secondary drive in beta LR5

Using the Mac version of the LR5 beta, I tried to create a Lightroom catalog on a secondary drive (the same drive my LR4 catalogs are on), and I got the following error:

Lightroom can't create a catalog named 'photos-5' volume ' / Volumes/Lightroom/photos-5 "because Lightroom is unable to save changes to this place." Lightroom catalogs not opening on volumes network, removable storage, or read only volumes.

The drive is not a network, removable storage volume (it is a SATA on a Mac Pro), or read-only.

Looks like you need to repair your permissions.

I recommend the creation of an image with the free trial of 30 days of Acronis or free Edition of WD/Seagate, which can be used if you have a WD/Seagate internal hard drive or external. See section 3 of the Guide to reinstall Windows:

    http://philipyip.WordPress.com/Dell-community-forums/

This will give you a backup copy of your system in its current configuration. Once the trial will expire, you can save your system using the Acronis bootable recovery media and don't have so no need to buy the version complete to recover your system. Versions of WD/Seagate will work providing one of their hard drive is detected connected to your system internally or externally, and they are not trial versions.

Many others have experienced problems with Dell DataSafe and resolved by uninstalling Dell backup and restore. reboot and then install the latest version here: http://www.dellbackupandrecovery.com/en-us/Index.html in addition to update their system BIOS if a BIOS update is available. When you create a recovery with DataSafe media I would recommend the use of a key USB and not DVD DVDs. Multiple are burned using the program and its common for 1 or more of these DVDs to burn incorrectly for flash USB stick method works better.

  • not able to create the logical complex join in the Administration of BI 10.1.3.4.1.

    Hello

I am facing this strange question in the business model. While I am able to create the logic of foreign keys (which, according to the documents, should not be created), for some reason I'm not able to create logical complex joins.
    Actions:
    (1) manage / joined... joined by Manager: Actions / new / logic to join...
    (2) in the window "join logic", I select the tables, BUT I can not choose any column (her are shown in "Column," drank lists these lists seem to be disabled)... .and combo box operator is disabled

Same result when trying to view "Diagram of logical table" and a "new complex joining" from one table to the other drag-and-drop...

Doesn't seem to be something related to this particular business model, because now it happens to all business models I... funny that there are some former complex logic is associated with some of my old business models

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Exactly!

  • Failed to create the paging to a secondary drive file

I recently installed a secondary hard drive in my laptop, and I'm trying to move the swap file to this drive to increase performance. However, for some reason, the system is unable to create a swap file on the secondary drive (d). To be precise, this is what happens:

    1. I go to system properties > advanced > settings > advanced > change and together an exchange of files on drive d (I tried to do "managed system" or setting a specific size, but that makes no difference). For now, I keep the pagefile on the C: drive as well.
    2. I click on save and see 'total size pagefile for all readers' increased appropriately.
    3. I navigate to D:\ and see that pagefile.sys has been created successfully.
    4. I restart my computer.
    5. D:\pagefile.sys has disappeared; "all readers of the total paging file size" shows the old value (i.e. not counting the pagefile on D :).)
I did some research and have already tried the following:
    1. Running 'sc config afs start = disabled' - there is no such service on my computer
    2. Setting the size of page on D: "management system" file - it is always not get created
    3. Check the permissions on the d: - both COMPNAME\system and COMPNAME\Administrators have full control access. drive is owned by system
    4. Also tried disabling the pagefile on the c: completely - what makes Windows generates an error message "Windows created a temporary swap file on your computer because of a problem that occurred with your paging file configuration when you started your computer". The system creates a temporary pagefile on C:, but none on D:.
    5. Finally, I ran sfc/scannow, and he finds no errors.
What Miss me? What is the problem with my D: drive? It is formatted in NTFS and has 30 GB of free space.
Tips, links, wild guesses is very much appreciated.
P.S. The system chart: HP 6930p (Core 2 Duo 9400), 3 GB RAM, Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit.

    1. it is not dedicated in the pagefile, but as much as I know this isn't a requirement, right?

    2. I expected to be able to create a pagination on the D: drive, even if it has other files.

    3. I tried it both ways - with a nominal pagefile on C: (different sizes) and without it. In all cases the paging on D: file not be enabled.

    1. a dedicated partition is preferable. Swap files mixed with other files, unless the minimum fixed = maximum, increase in the rate of fragmentation of other files and free disk space.

    2. what pagefile parameter you try to apply?

    3. advice on swap files made with Windows XP in mind. Increase in RAM memory and the pagefile is used may have changed. Of course, there are different views on the defragmentation from Microsoft programmers today. Personally as a user I have reservations about evolution.

    Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

  • When I try to install adobe Lightroom, it gives me the error that it is not able to create a "Lightroom Catalog" on the network volume. -What it means and how to fix it? I'm on a Dell with Windows 7 computer

Lightroom Catalog error.pngThis is the error that is displayed. I tried to create a new catalog when the option appears when I click ok but this error pops up again whenever I try.

    Hello

This means that the location where Lightroom is trying to create the catalog is on the network?

Could you please try to create a catalog on your local hard drive and then check, as the catalog is not supported on the network.

    Kind regards

    Tanuj

  • I am not able to create an account

IAM trying to create an account on printing and me I am unable of any know why

I finally thought to it.  They want the email address printers.  Then the code for the printer.  The code printed when you set up is only good for 24 hours.  If it is long that you need another sheet to print to your printer.  It will give you a new email & code. Then you should be able to create the account.

  • Not able to create a host profile

    Hi all

I m using Vsphere with vcenter 5.5 but when I try to create the host a specific profile host then it gives the error, 'Name of the Instance of Netstack not valid' when creating as well as the newspaper of vpxd

    I searched but nothing found

    I appreciate all

    Concerning

    Sagar-CRS

WebClient allows to connect you to vCenter, go to the tab network for esxi host, select vmkernel adapters and find "" TCP / IP Stack '. " Each unique adapter should get value for this cru. Select the vmkernel impacted port. Click the Refresh button.

If this does not work, reboot the host of problem. Do it on all three hosts.

  • Not able to do a scan with Microsoft InBox Driver

    Hello

I am not able to do a scan with the Sub parameters of analysis, using Inbox Driver Scanner Scan & Fax application in vista PC [32bit_Vista X 86 SP2] client (WIA 2.0)

    Source: Feeder

    LongueurSource: A4

    Color: gray

    Format: XPS

    Resolution: 100

The same combinations work with the driver supplied by the manufacturer, but with the drivers Microsoft InBox, I am not able to do a scan with this combination.

I was getting the error message below "ERROR applying settings to Driver".

Kindly let me know, it of because of a inbox driver or not.

If yes give me your comments on this to solve.

If there is no problem with the driver supplied by the manufacturer, by all means use this driver instead of the Microsoft Inbox driver (whidh is perhaps not as common or may have other issues).  If the other driver has resolved the problem, then be happy that you have a solution and use it.  Forget the driver that does not work well and just throw it away.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Files not found when creating a catalog of "master".

    I've been using V LR 5.7.1 and today I bought LR V6.

With the old version I was using multiple catalogs and decided to create a master catalog for use with the new v 6.0

With the keys v 5.7 in an external drive, I created a "master" catalog I imported a .lrcat but there were several photos, that the application was not found. I don't know where these files reside, but I don't know the best way to add these images to the master cat and have LightRoom "move" the file on the external drive.

Your help on this is much appreciated.

Since the images have already been imported, there is no "find and move." These are two separate actions.

If you have missing files, first find the records.

    Then find the missing photos.

If your Panel records not only shows the directory tree as Explorer/Finder made, right-click "show parent" until he does.

If you need to move a small number of files, LR can do for you in the library module.

If you need to move a large number of images, you are better to use Explorer/Finder to make the gesture, then 'find' the files again in LR.

  • Not able to create the new partition in disk management.

Original title: Windows XP Home Edition Partition Question

I tried to create another partition on my computer running Windows XP, but when I go to disk management, it doesn't let me do anything when I right click on a partition. I can't make a new (tried with cmd and disk management) and I can't change the current criteria. Is there an option somewhere that prevents you from changing or something? Almost many of the options are grayed out and I can't make a new partition. How can I fix? I want to make another partition.

    Hi JwadAziz,

Windows XP doesn't support narrowing of the reader.

You can use your favorite search engine & download any third-party software that might be used to.

  • Could not able to create a fence for RHEL Cluster

    Dear all,

We have configured the UCS successfully Manager & got OS installed, LUN is mapped to servers.

We have given a static ip address for KVM access on inventory... > tab CIMC & tired to use UCS Manager IP for the configuration of fencing, but we do not succeed.

We could not even be able to ssh to the MMIC balde.  Inband IP by blade is essential for the configuration of the fence... We did not pool Inband & policy for blades.

Ask that you suggest best practices to configure fencing & clustering.

    Thanks in advnace.

    Kind regards

    Gopi G

    Hey Gopi

In case of series b servers or UCSM c-series servers, better to use fence_cisco_ucs agent managed. See the following links
