I'm sick and tired of Acer and Windows 8.1!
Acer Aspire V5-571, win 8
What started as a simple upgrade to 8.1 has become a nightmare of time wasted and frustrating. Acer support is useless, but perhaps the community can help. Or maybe Costco will read th of uselessness enclose and bring her back and stop selling Acer altogether. I used to be a big fan, but this experience has me mark completely off.
I've updated FOUR other brands with no problems. I have the best part of spen t th two days with this Acer and nothing I tried works.
After that I decided to go on the NOSE to see if UEFI was part of th eproblem, I changed the BIOS to the strives and now it does not start in the Menu of the BIOS (F2). NOTHING on the Acer website tells you how to solve this problem. Anyone heard of a BIOS that can not load without an operating system. The error is 'The operating system not found' and F2 does not work.
Ideas anyone? Please not regurgitate "press F2 on the POST. It does not work - see above.
its okay...
BTW, try again the 2.17 sir...
Unzip the exe file it y...
After that...
Locate the update.bat and then run...

Android and Windows 8 DualBoot - Acer W700P
Hi folks, I'm David from South America and I have this great Tablet since last year, that's great, but I would like to install android and Android, so that I can dualboot windows 8.
I tried to install the latest 'android - 4.2.2_r1 - ia2"use"Generic UEFI Installer", I followed the steps as shown in the quick start page, but I found problems between the path, the first was a message while trying to start mode EUFI saying that the:
DiskName % has been blocked by the current security policy
then I read somewhere that the implementation of a supervisor password would allow me to change the settings of the UEFI, within those parameters has been an option for select trust uefi files, browsing the UEFI USB created in the quickstar page and select all the files in a folder called efi EFI, I could then start the first screen of the installer , and then you try the manual installation option gives me an error and get stuck there...
I know that some people were succesfull install Android from the page open source intel so please could you share the steps to follow to install Android and have dualboot with the large W700
Please share your comments, because for sure, there are a lot of people willing to try the DualBoot - Android and windows 8
Disable your security strategy uefi on yout start menu, assign an administrator password and disable the security check. DualBOOT android AI on w700 has been done successfully.

My office only displayed Widget Acer and Windows Live Messenger
Original title: desktop display problem
My desktop only Acer Widget & Windows Live Messenger, although my desktop folder contains everything that needs to be rendered outside the basket. There is no problem with the other user account on this computer. How can I fix this problem?
You have already found the problem, perhaps unknowingly.
quote... There is no problem with the other user account on this computer
It is a strong indication that your user account is damaged.
If it is an administrator account that you are having problems with, please set up another admin first.
Make sure that the new admin account works smoothly without the display problem.
Then decide if you keep some of the files for the damaged account.
If you don't care to keep everything, then simply remove the damaged account.
If you don't want certain files etc kept, then use this tutorial...
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-CA/Windows-Vista/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile
Note in the tutorial of... To copy files to the new user profile
After creating the profile, you can copy the files from the existing profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you just created.

The computer crashes during Gaming (BSOD) and Windows performance index
Windows 7, 64-bitOK, so I've had this problem for weeks. Initially, I thought the graphics card was defective. When I ran the Windows experience index, it would break on the part where he is to note the graphics card. So what I did I sent to the manufacturer and got a new, but the computer STILL crashes. Maybe the motherboard is damaged - I don't know.
Another measure taken was to use the command prompt and the "sfc/scannow". It did not work.I have almost all the necessary drivers. The only one, I can not install is the Display Driver for the graphics card, for some reason any.The graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 TI and the motherboard is an ASUS P9X79. They are compatible with each other. Here is the BSOD code that appears on the crash on Windows Experience Index (Rating)Problem event name: BlueScreenOS version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48Locale ID: 1033More information about the problem:BCCode: 116BCP1: FFFFFA801DE874E0BCP2: FFFFF880051D4F50BCP3: FFFFFFFFC000009ABCP4: 0000000000000004OS version: 6_1_7601Service Pack: 1_0Product: 256_1Files helping to describe the problem:C:\Windows\Minidump\100813-17128-01.dmpC:\Users\###\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-64225-0.SysData.XMLRead our privacy statement online:http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=104288&clcid=0x0409If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our offline privacy statement:C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txtPlease help me, I'm getting sick and tired of these accidents. The problem is certainly a problem of overheating.I figured out how to fix the problem - all I had to do was increase the GPU fan speed.of. Because of this, I was able to install the GPU driver successfully and play video games. (Use the GPU Tweak to increase the fan speed)I hope that whoever reads this found useful. -
BIOS and Windows 64 bit 8.1 does not see rM 8 GB
Buy Acer E5 - 572G NX. MQ0EL.005.
It has 4 GB of RAM (Samsung 12800 1600 mhz) then bought a bar - Crucial 4 GB DDR3 PC3 - 12800 CL11 SO - DIMM CT51264BF160BJ.
Place it in the second slot.
Result - BIOS shows only 4 GB of RAM and Windows shows same 4 GB RAM (something aroung 3.8 GB)
Tried to replace the second stick of ram but same result.
Any ideas what's happening?
Tried to run laptop with only Crucial working stick - BIOS 4 GB
Then tried to place again noticed two poles that stick in second slot is not placed correctly (pins were visible), place it with more force, so that the pins are not visible and now it works.
Once in the BIOS and Windows - 8 GB of RAM.

White screen of McAfee and Windows 8 apps does not
Hello
I had problems with a variety of applications of Windows 8 does not properly. For example, shows weather tile up to fine as a tile, but then when I click it there just has the rotating balls (replacement of the hourglass) and does nothing. Same for the store Windows, rotation of the balls and nothing else. Skype also does not work.
Not sure if it is related to the McAfee internet security suite, because all I get when I load which is a white window.
It is on an AO756 an Aspire bought end of 2012, and whose serial number is incredibly not recognized by the Acer support site (I posted about this yesterday, but heard nothing back).
Not impressed with Windows 8 or Acer at this stage.
I ended up buying a new McAfee product, like Security Suite Internet which has been preloaded on my netbook has been exceeded. The installation was not easy and I had to contact McAfee support. I ended up having to 1) remove and reinstall Java, 2) remove all McAfee software and 3) reinstall McAfee.
Who eventually solve all the issues I had with McAfee and Windows 8.
I'm always interested in hearing, why the serial number of my netbook is not recognized by the Acer support.

problem with the mouse and keyboard and windows update does not work
Since last week to start the computer, I get an error message that the mouse and keyboard functions do not work. He then seeks the errors and then indicates that the service restarts. I want to fix this problem and according to Microsoft hardware, I should download "mkc.msi", which is missing from my computer, but when I do a search for a download, it always automatically directs me to the section "community". How can I correct this problem and get the appropriate download? I use Windows Pro 64 bit with IE 11 on an Acer laptop. I have the Acer site but it was a great help. Also, for the last 6 months, I could not update my computer windows update feature does not work and no error code is presented. I tried everything to restore or re-download the windows update feature, but nothing works, or I can't find a source. I got a blue screen 3 times indicating that windows must be updated and has been the reason for the blue screen. Unfortunately, I don't have a Windows 7 reinstall drive when restarting it spilled about 85 MG of data but not identify what has been dumped. Of course I could use help on this major problem as well even if it cannot be in the category correct community.Hello

After dual boot Windows 7 and Windows 8, get error 0xC004E003 and Windows are not authentic
Hi, can someone help me with this problem?
I bought a new laptop without an operating system installed. Then, I asked for a computer shop install Windows 7. In the properties of the computer system, he showed his & OEM Windows 7 has been activated. I could install Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Live Essentials, which indicates that Windows is authentic. But after that I installed Windows 8 dual-boot with Windows 7, Windows 7 not genuine. Office Tournai black screen and it says: "Windows is not genuine". I tried to download Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and installed. Windows transformed in real dos, but they gave me 30 days to activate Windows 7. The computer shop didn't give me a product key. I tried to find a product key with the product key finder applications. After you enter the product key, it said: "The Software Licensing Service reported that license assessment has failed." - error 0xC004E003.
How should I do?You use an Acer OEM slp key on a HP computer.that will not work.
You will need to purchase an authentic ultimate license and change your key or return to windows, your computer comes with that.OEM SLP: This key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates -
We can establish a common partition for Mac OS and Windows Boot Camp
I'm new to Mac, so please excuse my ignorance.
I have a MacBookPro 11 mid-2015 with 512 GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM.
I have Mac OS X El Capitan and that you have installed 10 Windows using the Boot Camp utility on a 150 GB partition. I wanted a common partition on exFAT which could serve as a repository for my data either of the OS. My intention - 150 GB for Mac OS - 200 GB of data - 150 GB for Windows 10. How can this be achieved?
Earlier, after the Boot Camp, I reduced the Mac OS to 350 GB partition to 150 GB and released 200 GB. Formatting this turned me expensive because it stopped my Windows to start. Repair it was a waste of time and effort. I draw the hard Windows on a Mac is sensitive to changes in the partition.
In addition, is using Virtual Box better than Boot Camp? I don't have as much virtualized environments.
Please advice.
You can connect an external drive of ExFat formatted. The OSX and Windows can read/write on a disk formatted ExFat.
A virtual machine has its advantages, as does a Boot Camp facility. A virtual machine allows the simultaneous OS, any necessary initialization to change operating systems. Data can be shared between operating systems more easily. Computer such as memory resources are shared in a VM for applications environment to run slower.
Installation of Boot Camp allows Windows to run in native mode by using all of the system resources, so apps will go faster. But to change operating systems, a reboot is required. It is more difficult to share data.
