I get the downloaded installer. When I click on install and go through the memorandum of authorization, installation begins and is 90%. Then it ends abruptly with the terse message: «...» "Reader has not installed successfully... »

I'm trying to install Acrobat 8 Std on a laptop computer that was in need of a restoration. He asks the file AdobePDF.dll since my Vista CD - I do not have. How can I get this file or another which will allow my Acrobat 8 work on this laptop with Win 8.1, which she did before restoring?
John,
AdobePDF.dll is in the file Data1.cab. Mine is located in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat8\Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional\ You need to extract the file "AdobePDF.dll_64" from the .cab file. You can do this with WinZip or 7-Zip. Everything you need to extract is this file, nothing else... Once you have extracted it, remove the _64, so the name of the file is AdobePDF.dll. Then place the file in any location you want and run the program it when asked. For a file location, I suggest to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat8\
Hope that helps.

Trouble installing Acrobat Reader v11 on Win 7-64 bit sys?
I have problems installing Acrobat Reader version 11 on my Windows 7, 64-bit system. I tried several times without success. It seems that the download is fine, as an .exe file is downloaded on my "download folder". That's when I tried to install the problem araises. Please see figure.
It's very frustrating because I don't seem to get information on the site of Adobe referring to this question. Current information available are obsolete and another link that might be useful is broken... and there is no way to contact anyone in Adobe again to let them know about the broken link.
I'd appreciate any help I can get on this issue.
Thank you and happy new year!

Tried to install Adobe Reader on the Mac, "new version already installed.
I am trying to install Adobe Reader on my Mac. I uninstalled and reinstalled. I keep getting the message that the new version is already installed...
Hi Sarah Simac,
Seems that the reader is always present in your system. Its not completely uninstalled.
Try to directly remove the application from the Applications folder, which is just trash/Applications/Adobe Reader.app.
Also, this can cause a break in the features of Safari to read PDF files using Adobe Reader plugin. To resolve this problem, go into/Library/Internet Plug - Ins / and remove AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
Also try to open this link in another browser: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
Let us know if it works.

I can't install Acrobat Reader. He said that I have a version updated a request to complete (no choice). I don't have any installed version. I'm looking and I can't find no, and if I ask 'open with' PDF documents it does not show an Acrobat
If you're running Windows (which we don't know), you can try to use this tool first remove all traces of your computer:
http://labs.Adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then you can download the complete player offline installer from
http://get.Adobe.com/reader/Enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the Setup program before anything else.
