I'm unable to install kb2699988 on Windows Vista

Windows Vista system.  Cannot install KB2699988

Hello

Try to run the update for the Windows system preparation tool to see if it reveals something:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-is-the-system-update-readiness-tool

Once that is done, try to reinstall the update. Through Windows Update and downloading it manually (as suggested here).

  • Accidentally installed a clean Windows Vista 64-bit version when my computer is running 32-bit.

I wanted to do a clean install of my Windows Vista. I had my manufacturer installation cd but didn't know that they put two in the package. Thinking that they only gave me one and only good cd I just jumped it withou double check and guess what it was that bad. Now, nothing works as it is not installed the proper drivers. Help! Is there a way to fix this? I have the correct installation cd but my cd drive is not workingand I can't online. Is it possible to connect to another computer so that I can get online to download the drivers and then reinstall? Is there a way to get to my score? When I look at the recovery disk folder there is nothing in it. I'm not the most computer savy as you can guess very well but I take directions well.

Just a few troubleshooting steps to see if the drive is bad or if the DVD player is bad:

    1. If you have another DVD player available try to use this drive in your computer instead.

    2. If you have another computer available, try the disc of Windows 7 by using this computer and see if it can read the disc, or if the disc cannot be read and is bad.

    If the drive is bad:

To replace the installation discs for the manufacturer of the computer:

Contact the OEM computer manufacturer and ask them to send you an installation to your computer disk - they may charge a small fee. Contact information for the manufacturer of your computer can be found here:

  • Windows Install Cleanup Tool error when you try to install it on Windows Vista Business

After a failed installation of Adobe CS 4 on my Windows Vista Business 32-bit system, I am now unable to update or uninstall anything Adobe on my PC. I had read several forums, Adobe specifically, when users suggested to install and use the Windows Installer Clean up tool.  I have successfully used this app in the past with Windows XP, but when I try to install on my Vista box cleaning tool I am immediately presented with the error:

Windows Script Host: There is no script engine for file extension ".vbs".

Does anyone know a solution for this?  I tried hunting one down a few months ago, but could not find something that solved this problem.  Or are the users of Vista GROUND just when it comes to this cleanup tool? I want desperately to remove/repair my Adobe products (which work, but cannot be updated) without the need to make a nuclear weapon and to open and lose time reloading of each piece of software, to restore the profiles of boards, etc...

  • Unable to download itunes on windows vista

I'm unable to download itunes. I tried run and save options but always stuck when download is completed at 39% and not more progress?

    Hello

    Hi Alan Brookman,.

    Try the following steps:

Method 1: Temporarily disable security (including firewalls) software and check if you can download iTunes.

    Check out these links:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

If disabling the security software solves the problem, then contact the manufacturer of the specific security software to fix the problem.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not
Disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you
fact. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable
    to attacks.

Method 2: Start in safe mode with network and then try to download iTunes.

See this link for instructions on how to start in safe mode with networking:
