I moved my printer from an xp computer to a new one with windows 7. It prints ok but I wonder

HP Photosmart C4680

I have used it with Windows XP and now have a new computer with Windows 7.  the person who connected just plugged and it seems to print OK but no HP locations appear on my screen such as the icons etc.  Do I have to insert the original disc and reinstall it or will be everything that does not work on Windows 7

It worked fine after installing again.  Thank you
