I need a dvd for win xp media player decoder to run a cd.

I think that the dnp of letters have been mentioned when I studied the subject. I was warned to be careful about where and what type of decoder, I should get. All of the suggestions.

I think that the dnp of letters have been mentioned when I studied the subject. I was warned to be careful about where and what type of decoder, I should get. All of the suggestions.

=====================================
A DVD decoder is not included with Windows XP...
so, we need to be acquired and installed from a third
the party source. If your system has one when it was new...
It would have been included in your OEM software
package... maybe you always for her installation disk.

The site has a few suggestions:

Info about DVD decoders: Plug-ins for Windows Media Player
http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/plugins.aspx

And... the free VLC Media Player may be
worth a try... it will play anything.

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

VLC Media Player
http://www.filehippo.com/download_vlc/
(works on XP/Vista/7)
(the name of the file to download is: vlc - 2.0.2 - win32.exe)

Good luck...

FWIW... Win XP cannot natively recognize Commercial

If you could play before commercial video DVD...

  • Could not play South Korean DVD with my Windows Media Player

Hello, I have dell vostro 3550, windows 7 Home Basic, i5. Whenever I try to play a DVD of Korea of the South with windows media player it says: "Windows Media Player cannot play video DVDs. You may need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try to lower your screen resolution and color quality settings"I tried several times but do not help. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall WMP and a set of CODECS installation but do not help. Please if anyone can help me with this. VLC player and other software free video player show no good subtitles of the DVD of the South Korea.

    Thank you..!

    Hi Jean Claude,

The problem could be caused if there is no matter what third-party DVD decoder program is installed on your computer may conflict with Windows Media Player.

    1. is the specific question of the Korea of the South DVD?

    2. What is the format of the video file from the DVD of South Korea?

    3. are you able to play videos in Windows Media Player that are saved on the computer?

    4. have you made any recent hardware or exchange of software on your computer before the show?

    Follow the steps below.

    Method 1:

If your computer has problems playing a DVD in Windows Media Player, try using the troubleshooting Windows Media Player DVD Troubleshooter to fix the problem. This utility checks the common issues, for example by ensuring that you have a DVD player and the correct DVD decoder installed on your computer.

    Hi davidwiddecombe,

A codec is a software to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or a video. Windows Media Player and other programs use codecs to play and create digital media files.

A codec can consist of two components: an encoder and a decoder. The encoder performs the compression function (coding) and the decoder performs the decompression function (decoding). Some codecs include both components and some codecs only one of them.

Use your favorite search engine and browse for such a program which is used to.
