    Hello

You will need to purchase a license/disk/upgrade Windows 7 product key.

Microsoft sells more Windows 7 and you would have to buy from Amazon, etc.

There was a free upgrade offer, but it expired a long time ago:

"The Windows 7 upgrade Option is available through participating PC manufacturers on some PC and Microsoft on any purchase of packaged product Windows Vista. The Windows 7 upgrade Option applies to Windows Vista Home Premium, Business and Ultimate editions. Your upgrade to Windows 7 will be the comparable version: so you will get either Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional (upgrade to Windows Vista Business) or Windows 7 Ultimate, respectively. The Windows 7 upgrade Option program works on June 26, 2009 through January 31, 2010. Some manufacturers may choose to shorten the time of upgrade Option. »

  • How to activate Win 7 Home Premium SP1 if I have a product key for Win 7 Home Premium without SP1

I bought the Dell with pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium computer. I recently had a problem with the firewall system and found that the only solution is to reinstall Windows. I downloaded .iso with Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 because my current version has been already upgraded to SP1. After that I installed it, it asked me to enter the product key. I have provided the product key, but he says it's a bad touch and I realized that my product key must be for Windows 7 Home Premium without SP1.

I downloaded .iso with Windows 7 Home Premium without SP1, but I can't install it now because it says that my current version is newer than the one I am trying to install. What can I do about it now? Can I get a product key for Win 7 Home Premium SP1 if I have Win 7 Home Premium? Service pack 1 is free anyway...

If you have downloaded a Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 integrated, you should be able to use the product key located on the COA sticker in the battery compartment.

Skip entering product key and complete the installation.

Click Start, right click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click on the link 'change product key '.

Enter the product key located on the COA sticker attached to the bottom of your laptop or in the battery compartment. Click next to activate via the Internet.

Where did you buy Windows 8? If it came pre-loaded on your system?

If you bought in a store, it is in the package.

    If you bought it online:

Go to the order summary page, you can find your product key:

    https://www.mswos.com/

If Windows 8 came preloaded on your computer:

With Windows 8, Microsoft changed stickers that have the product key that the user must type in during the installation of the operating system of new embedded BIOS product key. The idea is that by eliminating the tile, you eliminate one of the easiest ways for nefarious users get a legitimate product key. The sticker also eliminating product key removes any concern that the vignette could get damaged while at the same time eliminating the long and irritating the process of typing in various letters and numbers in the installation of the operating system.

If the user has to reinstall the operating system on a computer with Windows 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without input from the user. This means that these stickers familiar windows product key will no longer appear on Windows 8 computers.

    Hello Butterflylove1983,

Give you specific help, to a more detailed description of the problem and the question you have.

Some questions that you can answer to help out are:

    1. what version of Windows 7 are you running?
2 what is an OEM version that came with your computer, or a retail version that you bought?  (or a beta version)
    3. is your enabled copy?
    4. you are trying to locate the key that you used to activate Windows 7? Or you try to get a key, so you can activate Windows 7?

If you have already activated and used a key, you can download a product such as Belarc Advisor and run it to extract the key.  However, if you have installed Windows 7 and do not use a key, you will need to purchase a license in order to activate it.  This can be done through computer vendors such as newegg.com or amazon.com, or even by the Web sites online.

If you are looking for a 'free' or 'key to crack', then you come to the wrong place to ask.  Since it is a Microsoft forum, noone in their right mind will tell you where to look for pirated keys or ways around the keys.

Hope that this help give you to a more detailed explanation of your problem and have a nice day :)
    Patrick.

  • where can I find the product key for win XP?

    Hello

    I'm new here.

I just purschased a Lenovo SL500 of Hemini.

I have a question to which they would not meet for me. I hope someone of you can.

My laptop came with windows XP installed and Vista installation CD.

I chose to stay with XP.

The Windows sticker under the laptop is for Vista-online the 25 digit product key it has on it is for Vista and won't work for 'validate' my Windows XP and Windows Office software.

Nowhere in the package I found no mention of a product key for XP.

Please help me as to what I do now.

    Thank you.

    Hi Oingk,

More [maybe all] computer manufacturers use the volume license key to install and activate Windows:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volume_license_key

Preinstalled Windows OSes of lenovo is already active, it is surprising that yours is not enabled. I suggest you contact lenovo CS.

In case you did a clean install, you must have created a recovery disc for XP first then these discs contain a picture of Windows preinstalled [pre-activated] and other lenovo software:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-68317

As Microsoft Office, the version provided with thinkpads is the trial, unless expressly ordered a license at the time of purchase.

    It will be useful.

  • Questions: product key for Win 7 Home Prem-64 bit on renovated 6000 HP Office

    Hello

I'm looking for assistance. A few questions about my product key and my type of PC.

I bought a refurbished Hewlett Packard 6000 PC from Best Buy in 2011 and it is come preinstalled (no windows disk) with Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) OS. It is authentic.

It has 2 hard drives. The big one is a 750G which has 2 partitions (part devoted only to the BONE and space remaining for usual use and still has plenty of space to breathe (585G).) Then, there is a disc of 14G it's strictly for the restoration of windows and recovery. It is nearly full with about 1 G to save.

I am not sure I want 10 Windows because it seems to be so many problems and I cannot afford a new PC hardware or download new software at the moment and I need my PC for a living. I use Norton 360 Security and backup on an external hard drive at the moment.

    1) if I try Win 10 and decide I don't like, I will always be able to return to my original Windows 7 Home Premium?

    2) if I need, can I use my product key with another disc of Windows 7 Home Premium is exactly what I have installed now (did not come with my PC), or is it illegal? I do not want to break the law or action illegal without knowing it.

Since Windows 10 came out, I had problems with my PC more.

From what I can tell, t seems to behave more like a "domain server" one "computer staff home.»

I restored it to factory twice during this time settings, but I keep my automatic windows update and I wonder if there may be some updates that should not be installed due to the release of 10 windows that add to the question.

    3) when it passes through their free offer 10 widows, it is a full version? And does go from Win 7 to 8 Win, then to win 10? Or just have it go right to win 10 of Win 7?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Installation of the HP factory is the worst install of Windows, you can have, entrelardé a ton of bloatware that duplicates and interferes with the older versions of built-in features of the operating system, suffers from endless problems.  Therefore no tech fan would have never run the installation of the factory (or an upgrade on Windows 10 place) but prefer clean reinstall Windows 7 with the product key on the COA sticker.

Now check if the product key on the COA sticker is there and readable.  It took for them to sell you Windows software pre-installed to legally.

If Yes, then you can solve all these problems at once by a Clean install Windows 10 Upgrade skip the product key during install then after activation with your Windows 7 key.  As long as stick you with tools and methods in the link that you will have no problem because there is no reported for those who follow.

Do not hesitate to ask back and let us now how it goes.

I have a disc of original home installation win xp, but have lost the product key that was on the box of the cd, how do I know what is the key?

If you have a computer on which the product has been installed AND it is a retail version of XP Home (not a version installed at the factory where you never entered the label key), you can use a program of keyfinder to retrieve.  I usewww.magicaljellybean.com keyfinder program for this purpose.  Even if you have a hard drive that had the operating system installed on it and it still can be read in another computer then the tool load the hive in this program will be found the product key.  Otherwise, you're out of luck.
  • How to buy some product keys for Win 7 Ultimate SP1 x 86?

    Hi you all,.

We have a handful of XP Pro SP3 PC to upgrade to Win 7 Pro (or more) x 86. Win 7 Compatibility Checker found no problem with the hardware. I started the first upgrade using a DVD Win 7 Ultimate x 86 retail licensed, but had problems with the DVD. I decided to download the ISO of Win 7 Ultimate x 86 but when I type in the valid product key there is no option to download the ISO in English. Neither the French version was available even if it is of no use to us. Strange; What is the problem?

Second, is this website legitimate? 'Designed by Microsoft' seems bogus:

Thank you very much and happy holidays.

This site looks bogus to me.  Thanks for letting us know that I reported.

Best bet is going to be for 7, family or professional edition regularly seen on Newegg, Tiger Direct and Amazon mainline for $89 and $119.

  • Product key for win 8 doesn't work no-error: this product key cannot be used to install a copy of windows retail.

I bought a copy of windows 8 for the upgrade to windows 7 from the Microsoft store. I need to reinstall the hard drive on this machine, but when I download the installer of windows 8 on another machine to try to create a bootable USB I get an error message when I put in the product key (which I paid for) who says: this product key cannot be used to install a copy of windows retail.

How can I get this problem?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

Ideally, there are two types of product keys: key to retail version key upgrade and full. The key to upgrade is used to upgrade the version of the operating system when you have the lower version of the operating system already installed on the system, for example, if you have already installed Windows 7 system, you can use the upgrade of Windows 8 to upgrade (override) currently installed Windows 7 to Windows 8. This product key cannot be used to download the installer of Windows 8 and create a bootable for installing Windows 8 from scratch.

However, the key of the full version allows to download the installer of Windows 8 and create a Windows 8 boot disk to install a full version of the operating system.

According to your description, you have reinstalled the hard drive on your machine and want to install Windows 8 by creating a bootable. Thus, you will always have the above error message while downloading executable files for Windows 8.

There are two options you can try to install Windows 8 on your system:

    • Replace the key with a key to the version upgrade complete on the Microsoft Store and follow the procedure as you said in your post. You will not get the error message given.
    • If you have the Windows 7 installation media, you can try to install Windows 7 on the reinstalled hard drive. After activating this operating system, you can try to upgrade to Windows 8 by using the product key that you have already purchased.

Hope this information is useful. If the problem still persists, please post back for further assistance, we will be happy to help you.
