• need driver for HP Laserjet 4 L for a computer windows 7

  My mother's computer had a power surge and it re - set the computer to a brand new empty computer.  I have re-; oaded all, but it's an operating system of Windows 7 and I cannot find printers LaserJet 4 L driver on the HP website any longer.  I don't remember how I loaded it the first time, but the computer can not find a driver to make it.  Can anyone help with this?  I can't find a place to even call HP and see if a driver is available.

  Did you read my post. To use a driver built into windows 7, use the printer to add, select the port, and then when you get to the page of manufacturers choose hp on the left and then scroll down to pcl laserjet 4 right. If the printer laserjet 4 does not appear click the button update windows and wait for the screen to repopulate and it will be there. You are a very easy job hard. Do not use automatic detection.

  FYI - got a new HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium. I had problems with the HP LaserJet 2200 d driver that ships with Windows 7. The driver provided with Windows 7 is for the PCL5, HP LaserJet 2200 (which is an older driver and let you tell the printer Config in Windows you have duplex, and that you have several input paper trays). After some troubleshooting and Explorer, I installed the HP LaserJet UPD PCL6, on the site of HP. Bingo! The PCL6 driver allows you to set up the printer as a duplex and configure the printer with tray 2, tray 3, etc.

  Whenever I need to print, the print job gets held in place in the queue...

  • 'Use printer offline' flashes
  • Status: "error - printing".
  • Port USB001

  After execution of HP print and Scan doctor, the print queue is cleared, I print the document again and it will work only once.  Next time I want to print, I have to restart the HP print and scan doctor, and then reprint the document.

  I understand that you have some problems with the printing of your Windows 7 PC to your printer Laserjet M1319. I can help you with that.

  To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

  1. If your printer is connected via USB cable to your PC, delete.
  2. Click on start and open devices and printers.
  3. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
  4. Click on remove the instrument.
  5. Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.
  6. Click Start, in your type of Services Research and open Component Services.
  7. On the left, click Services (Local).
  8. On the right, do a right-click on print spooler.
  9. Click on stop.
  10. Open your drive C:\, Windows, System 32, coil, and printers.
  11. Delete everything in this folder.
  12. Return to the Component Services window.
  13. Right-click on print spooler.
  14. Click Start.
  15. If you removed the USB cable, connect. If this is not the case, go back to the devices and printers and click Add printer to add a new queue for your printer.

  I don't know if the driver is present on a new installation of Windows; It can only have appeared in the list after the Windows Update button has been clicked on the dialog Add printers above, then wait (possibly several minutes) while additional drivers have been downloaded and the list filled again.

  I suppose the same could be true for older versions of Windows as well.

  This printer successfully under Vista. I did a clean install of Windows 7.

  The name of the 32-bit driver is different from the name of 64-bit driver.  You create a Local Port which will basically copy the formatted print data from the part of xpmachine.

  With the help of a very knowledgeable Microsoft Tech, I was able to get the driver for my printer HP LaserJet 4 L printer.  It is listed on page 6 of 6 Iin the CATALOG.COM UPDATE from MICROSOFT.

  Hope this helps others, I know that this quest for the pilot was long and painful, but my trusty printer prints well!
