  I think the max is 12 GB (4 GB in slot 2 and the option to add a 8 GB RAM module)

  A sound card is a physical piece of hardware, and therefore can not be downloaded. I guess you mean the driver for the sound card.

  There are a lot of HP Pavilion 5000 variations on the HP website, so I can't give you an exact link to your drivers. The best I can do is point you here:

  You must then enter your exact model No. and the Windows version * and it will take you to all the drivers available. You can then download and install them. They will be free.

  * Make sure that you choose the drivers 32 or 64-bit according to your version of Windows.

  Unless there is a dramatic problem with the PC does not, you don't need a BIOS update.  The only time where an update of the BIOS is to solve a problem or upgrade to a hardware device (CPU or devices on board) here is the latest version (Version F.37 )

  I understand that you have changed your operating system to windows 7 from vista, and you are not able to locate the drivers on the HP site.

  The drivers you are looking at are specifically for windows vista not for 7 so these drivers would not work for this laptop.

  One thing you might try download this HP Support Assistant program, and it will try to search for and find drivers and compatible software for your laptop. Click on this link and will need you the HP Support Assistant page.

  Hello, I just bought a new HP Pavilion HPE desktop computer (3 days).  After that I got the first time I turned it on it only connected via the wireless network card.  I then did a clean install of windows 7 Ultimate edition (because I had it and it's better than home premium).  Well I can connect through the wireless card but want to connect with the ethernet.  The Device Manager shows SM Bus controller and Ethernet controller drivers are not installed.  I contacted HP support and they could not help, they said I have to do a full install HP operating system provided with the computer because they knew not where were pilots and no guarantee that would work.  The motherboard is made by IPMMB-FM.  I tried Google and found nothing.  I'm looking for help to find these drivers.  I'd appreciate any help that is offered.

  While HP does not seem the W7 64-bit driver available (small oversite on their part), I think I have found a driver on the Atheros website.

  Go to the Portal client Atheros and select AR813x_AR815x_v2.0.14.15_WHQL or AR816x_v2.0.14.15_WHQL under the headings AR813x_AR815x or AR816x. They are in. RAR format, extract the driver by using WinRAR or similar!

• I need help for my laptop to stop, he is frozen on the page "shutting down".

  I have a dell laptop inspiron 1520 with Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.  My mother downloaded the program Picasa on it last night, and since then it will not be closed.  I don't know if downloading caused a problem or what's happening.  I tried CTRL ALT DELETE it who did nothing, I pushed the power button on repeatedly, shut down the computer to see if it would be closed.  I disconnected to see if it would be fair to the battery and reboot, but it will take about 4 hours and I don't know if that will solve the problem or not.  I threw the computer, as with an old computer, I have had there is a tiny stick you could put a pen in and restart it, I have find a Plug and put a pen... He did nothing.  If anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate it.  I don't know much about computers.   Thank you very much. -Jen

  HP do not offer a download for the recovery media option, but there are two options available.

  1. you can order a set of replacement of the recovery media using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

  Order HP recovery disks.

  2 you can use the following method to create your own Windows 7 Edition installation family support basic 64-bit.

  Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

  An example of a COA label can be seen here.

  You can create Windows 7 installation yourself using another PC. However, it not there no download directly available for Windows 7 Home Basic Edition, so you will need to download another version (one will do, but the link below is for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - the source is Digital River).
