  It depends on what you want to do. If you have experience with coding, you can download Dreamweaver to create Web sites by using the two code + design of knowledge.

  I would certainly recommend Photoshop Elements.  It comes to $100 vs $800 for Photoshop.  PE has most of the same stuff and a curve of lower learning, so for a beginnerit is the way to go.

  I've used Acrobat Reader only, not any pro version. There are a few things I want to be able to do: modify a pdf file and create my own form for certain things. I really don't know what would be the best program. I would not make any what else I can same fantisize and arrive at something else for which I might need it.

  It might be useful to give some info about my level of 'tech '. I'm on Win 7 Pro [not because I wanted to spend XP] that must be customized as my win98. I don't do much on the web, for the most part I get by e-mail. I always use CorelDraw / Corel PhotoPaint 8 for any art said I could do [Yes, it will work on Win 7 great]. My cell phone is 2004. So, really I can't think of something that I have to be able to do at hand to do interactive forms and power edit pdf files sometimes.

  LR CC/6 is out for about a year. He started with LR CC 2015.0 (LR 6.0) and is currently at 2105/6 5.1.

  The desired catalog is CC, Lightroom Catalog.lrcat.

  You might want to consider renaming it to Lightroom Catalog.lrcat of CC - 6 so you don't get confused in the future. Once rename you it with the program of file manager for all your BONES, you have to do is either double-click on it or once LR is open, select file > open catalog and open that has renamed the file catalog.
