My hard drive recently failed on my Equium A60-181, which was purchased a few years there are nine with a genuine copy of Windows XP installed. Now that I replaced my hard drive, the vehicle currently has no operating system, but I would like to know how I can get an authentic copy to reinstall on my hard drive.

Do I have to buy another drive of Microsoft? Or is it possible to reinstall XP using my recovery disk or a copy of Toshiba?

  • Newly installed hard drive, cannot get the reinstallation of Windows 7 to the end

Hi all. My factory-issued Seagate 1 TB hard drive of origin provided with my PC Pavilion Elite HPE-240f failed a few months ago and I finally had time to fixation (rock a Pavilion dm4 laptop in the meantime, I'm not in a huge rush). I replaced it tonight with a Western Digital Blue 1 TB hard drive, which I know is Advanced Format.

I love HP platform minor changes in the the Windows 7 OS, I went ahead and tried to reinstall the OS of my recovery disks that I made when I got this PC. I checked the BIOS settings and the new hard drive WD IS recognized, the size is correct, etc. It has been configured in RAID with the SATA controller, and I tried to put out when the installation of the operating system initially lacked AHCI. It seems to be stuck in some kind of loop in the final configuration step, and I get out of the dialog box "Installation of Windows set up Windows to run on a hardware on this computer" could not. Hit Okay sends in reboot and after that I get a "Windows is unable to complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation"notice.

It makes me batty, and I really want my back office. This is a great machine, and as much as I love my laptop, it can't handle heavy programs like Photoshop or my multitasking fool. I managed to get the OS installed by forcing the system to bypass its system predefined through registry commands, but the important things were wrong, as Windows Update does not work, so I'll try to reset all with only recovery disks. So far, no go. I am extremely tired, frustrated, and it's late, so apologies for what I've left out or of typos. Any help on how to solve this problem is GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you very much for your response, @MechPilot. I actually found what I thought, it's perhaps the question a day or two before your answer: my computer was manufactured and purchased just before October 2010, which has been cut for restoration placed disks shaped for the drives non - Advanced Format. All the following which has been reformatted accordingly. I contacted HP and bought the replacement of the recovery discs (made in 2012), that I received yesterday. After several hours of nerves and finger-crossing, it worked like a charm. The operating system has successfully recovered, and I couldn't be happier!

I answer computer said of office right now, in fact! Thanks again.

  • Do I need to get all updates to windows on the new VISTA system before moving on to Windows 7?

Hi , I have a brand new 'Pavilion Elite m9300t PC with TV/PVR' always in the zone since the 2008-09-02 (don't ask why, long story). There "Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit)" on it.  I bought a software "Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade designed for Windows Vista" (box).  It seems clear that the system accepts the 64-bit Windows Update 7

My question is, when I turn firstly on this machine, I have to spend hours updating the Vista operating system with all the Windows updates until I put in the Windows 7 Upgrade?  Or can I just simply immediately install Windows 7 Premium on the new brand new OS Vista from HP?

I ask because I don't want to spend hours in Vista with Windows Update updates when I have not, before using Windows 7 Upgrade disks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA,-Paul

    Hello:

No, you don't have to do anything other than the upgrade to Vista.  If you are brave, you are better off getting a clean install and wiping out Vista anyway.  If not simply put in the drive of W7, let an automatic upgrade on place and you're ready to go. You will have enough updates W7 to treat once the PC is upgraded to W7.

  • Need a CD for reinstallation of Windows Vista.

I bought a new computer, but it did not come with a Vista CD.  How can I create one?  I expect disasters, but sometimes I prefer to reformat the hard drive only to try to understand how to get rid of spyware and viruses.

    Hello

You can make the recovery discs from the recovery partition to factory settings (how you bought)

    ask the manufacturer how to

    and read this:

    How to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

    Hi joedoerksen,

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Start the computer in safe mode. Built-in Administrator account would be displayed on the Welcome screen. Choose the account administrator and you should be able to boot to the desktop, if you have not set a password for the default Administrator account.

Method 2: If you have set a password for the default Administrator account, then the only option is to go for a parallel installation of Windows XP and retrieve documents.

Follow the method 4 install Windows XP to a new folder (parallel installation) of the article.

Evaluation copies are for your temporary assessment, so you can decide if you like the system.  If you want to continue using it, you buy it.

You purchase 6 additional keys on the Microsoft Store, simply specify the quantity:

I tried to play Candy Crush & Solitaire all day and every time I try I get a pop-up window saying I need to download a new version.  I have downloaded 3 times today & reset my email and password and still can't get anything to load.  What is going on???

This password is presented by your operating system and is designed to prevent you from accidentally installing the software.

If it comes to your personal computer and you don't need a password to connect to the computer when it first starts, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to go to this prompt.  If it comes to your personal computer and your normal password does not work, make sure that CAPS LOCK SHIFT is off, and then type the password carefully.

If this is your work machine and he asks an administrator password, well, you will need to have a conversation with your computer friendly.

    Hello

According to this page specifications (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03489385 , your laptop came with ' Standard/Core/Basic edition' of Windows 8 64-bit.)

Only 4 editions exist for Windows 8-

    Standard-Basic-basic
    RT
    Enterprise
    Professional

    Related: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_8_editions

There is no need to buy a new installation of Windows 8 for reinstallation disc
It will cost you money & also it would contain a different set of product key that should be used in another system, also when you purchase the installation disk of retail sales that it may not work with your system, as it is not an OEM installation media & product key would be retail

8 Windows laptop product key is encrypted in the BIOS of the laptop chip in the motherboard, would automatically activate the OEM of Windows 8 when installing.

You can do your own installation of Windows 8 OEM media ordinary from another computer if you have access:

Link to the 8 x 64 ISO of Windows file, download, save it to a known location on the system.

    https://docs.Google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?PLI=1

After you download the file, use this tool to make the file on a flash USB 4 GB or DVD drive bootable.
The tool works for Windows 8 too-

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

    Note:
When you click on the link to the iso file, sometimes you may get this message:

"Sorry, you can't view or download this file at this time.
Too many users have seen or this file downloaded recently. Please try to access to the file again later. If the file you are trying to access is particularly important or is shared with many people, it may take up to 24 hours to be able to view or download the file. If you can not access a file after 24 hours, contact your domain administrator. »

As the message says you can try again later or tomorrow. Must try several times until you get to download it - has a daily download limit.

After making the bootable install OEM Windows 8 x 64 support, simply start your system when booting from it & installing,

    Note:
What you will do here is a new Installation & installation media will not contain the programs, software, provided drivers with your laptop when you bought it,

You could download the drivers from your product download page & save on another Flash/USB drive and run the configuration file after you have installed Windows 8 successfully in your system.
