I/o device error, unable to write to my DVD player, reusable discs are not recognized

I've looked everywhere and have now turned to the forums of desparation. If anyone has any suggestions as to how this could be fixed I'd be very grateful. I use Windows XP.

Hi unicorns.

Have you been able to go through the steps I would like to fix it myself ?

If so, what was the result?

Thanks and good luck!

  • USB devices connected through a USB 2.0 Hub Stop Responding and are not recognized after Hub reconnects

Recently, I have this strange problem where if I connect an additional USB device to one of my USB hubs, some of my devices stop working (especially my keyboard and mouse).

I have two hubs Generic USB connected to my motherboard. My motherboard is an ASUS Rampage II Extreme X 58 who and chips ICH10. It has 4 USB ports in the front and 6 ports on the rear panel (all USB 2.0). I also have a USB 3 controller card that is connected to one of the PCI-E card to the Board of Directors.  I have the following problems:

    1. Connect a USB device to one of my USB hubs (or one of the USB ports on the front panel) causes some of my devices to stop working (especially my keyboard and mouse that are connected via a USB hub). It seems that crashes of USB controller.  If disconnect and reconnect my HUB, windows does not recognize devices connected to this hub.
    2. Now, after the crash, if unplugging the devices connected to the hub and connect it directly to one of the ports on the front or the back of the computer, Windows instantly recognizes!

Now I'm confused what is the cause of this problem. I had the same computer since the release of the i7 and X 58 and never had this problem (although I don't remember if I used USB hubs right there).

Why Windows to recognise the devices connected to the hub at the beginning, but not after the crash?

Why USB devices stop working when I connect to another USB device on my computer?

And how do I solve this problem?

    AK

Just a thought by the way.  If the hubs are not powered you can cause the + 5V due to the excessive number of devices not powered up to a point where it causes accidents and able to resume.

Reduce the number of UN powered can solve this problem,

  • My USB devices are not recognized, but they have a power

My USB devices are not recognized, the only ones to be recognized are my mouse and keyboard. Each device is powered (motherboard works fine), but Windows 7 isn't their read (although sometimes I'll get a code 43). I have the latest chipset.

I tried right click and uninstall each device and rebooted the computer. Nothing has fixed this.

My external hard drive, ipod and other devices that involve the transfer of data seem to ONLY get power and nothing else.

It is not material because all my devices work on my laptop. Also my motherboard works fine (it's the 2nd RMA) and it has been tested at the factory to make sure of him.

I would really appreciate help with this

    Hello

    Please follow the methods.

    Method 1:

Run the troubleshooter from the link.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

    Method 2:

Try to uninstall and reinstall the USB controllers

    a. click the Start button.

b in the start search box, type devmgmt.msc and press enter

    c. expand Bus USB controllers

    d. right-click on the first USB controllerr under Bus USB controllers and then click Uninstall to remove it. Repeat these steps for the entire USB under Controllers USB Bus controller.

    e. restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically check for changes on the hardware and reinstall all USB controllers that you uninstalled.

I would also ask you to contact the manufacturer of the computer to help.

    Hi, Claudio Nahmad,.

This error can occur if the data in the registry for the device and its driver has been corrupted.

Since you have already done a factory restore, leave, try to uninstall and reinstall the driver CD\DVD and check if it helps.
Code 19: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged

We can also refer to article and check if it helps.

Important: The above links contains steps to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

  • Error code 19 registry on any DVD player.

I get the following message when I install a DVD drive on my laptop CQ60 Compaq Vista home edition 32 bit running.

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

I tried to uninstall and install this unit several times.  I tried to install a USB DVD drive as well (and uninstall) and get the same error.

Seeking solutions sends data to Microsoft (apparently) but I have no feedback.

I don't see an option "UNINSTALL - REBOOT.  I uninstalled the devices (Optiarc AD-7561 and the DVD ROM Targus USB drive) and restarted the computer.  When both are installed, I get the same error from registry

    Hello

UNINSTALL you then RESTART when back in Device Manager - which means rebooting the system.

19 code means there is a driver conflict such as two devices attempt to use the same resources.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are

I always make sure I close all programs relating to the use of the disc before you try to take out the drive. It is a new problem that I used the laptop for a few months with no problems at all. To do this right-click on the dvd drive in my computer, then click "eject". This could mean windows that its ok to let the player go now.

Another solution would be to save all the important data to another drive, and then put the laptop "out of area State" by using the recovery disk. I would say that the problem will disappear.

However, if problems persist, please consult your place of purchase for a check up.
