  1. Yes, it is possible to consolidate catalogs. Lightroom, open the catalog you want to be your main catalog, and then import them from other catalogs.

  2. infrared photography is specialized, and Adobe doesn't create profiles for such. You'll probably develop presets or download the DNG profile creator and create your own profile to use with your infrared photos.

  In the upper left corner of the main window close the model name, there should be a drop down menu that has "sync with LR Mobile" as the first option. From there, you should be able to disable it.

  If you installed all of your images on the new computer at the same location and copied your old catalog to the new computer, all what you have to do is and then double-click Catalog. If it were an earlier version, the new version will be convert and create a new copy of the catalogue, which will be compatible with the new version of Lightroom.

  Method 1: To connect your computer to a television, your computer must have a video port that matches one of the inputs on your TV.

  If your TV does not have a VGA or DVI input that matches an output on your computer, you'll need to use cables S-video or composite video.

  If your computer does not have one of these TV-compatible outputs, then you might be able to install a new video card that has the right connection.

  You will need an HDMI cable to connect TV with laptop.

  Follow these steps to connect your computer to your TV:

• Lightroom 3 develop different previews to view Loupe?

  Hi, I have a weird problem and it is very difficult to explain but I'll try :-) I have a Macbook and a profiled secondary monitor connected to a better view of how the image will be once developed. I just noticed (as I only started using the secondary monitor) in the standard display, once I started to edit a picture to develop, and then return to the view of the magnifying glass and then back to the point, the image on the secondary monitor the same poster for a second or two and then deteriorates. Becomes very grainy. If I may return to the Magnifier see it smooth. At first I thought it was because Lightroom uses FIRST data to compile standard preview to develop as opposed to a predefined preview (1680 high in my case) to Magnifier see, and module development was obviously providing a view more precise - but is not a more accurate view, as when I go 1:1 the image is smooth and not gritty.

  To illustrate, lets say, I choose an image I have edited before, the view is the same in the two modules initially, but as soon as I change the image somehow develop the preview is deteriorating. Once again I have a degraded on screen, standard display, overview to develop the module. If I flip and then in another image that the image is smooth for a second or two and then deteriorates too - you can see it happen! If I can change the image while develop, then I'll be back at the sight of the magnifying glass, the image degrades again, but then if I stay for the magnifying glass and go 1:1 the secondary monitor (which always displays standard preview) picks up the change and shows a smooth accurate detailed view.

  It is very weird but does not mean that it use Lightroom for serious editing is not possible because I can't trust the preview (unless I continue to chip away at return to the loupe mode!) except at the 1:1 that any knows that with a 14Mp camera is so great that you can not get a glimpse of what you are doing. 1:1 is really useful for sharpening and noise reduction. Please note: it is not visible when minor changes are made, but I often convert my images n & B with split toning and when you do this and say shoot the blue mix sliders until the definition of heaven increase (which can introduce artifacts) degradation is severe - but as I said that is not true or real 1:1 view shows nice tone smooth variation. I've rebuilt previews to match the resolution of my screen bigger, deleted the preview files, do not know what else to do except forget using the bigger than the effect monitor is much more visible on this! I have attached files (which I hope, download OK I couldn't listen to samples) showing the problem. If anyone else has this problem, I would be very interested to hear about it!

  Yes, noise reduction seems to apply to all levels of view made through 1:1 in Beta LR4 library and develop modules. Compare beta images processed with LR4 below from the same image posted above on August 12, 2011:

  Hi Geoff, I was far back reading your thread.

  A few suggestions more.

  Re catalog: I suggest #1 is the safest bet. I don't know what a ".lrdb" file and the "PALIO... lrcat" was accidental I suspect by the name of the strange folder.

  Collections re: you speak often of "Collections". Please understand that the images you see in the Collections LR Panel are only 'virtual', they are only links to your images anywhere where they exist in the files of the hard disk.

  SOFRELINER folders with images on your hard drive, Collections (in the Collections PANEL of LR) are just lists of images that can be removed, changed, recreated without affecting the image files.

  (It is preferable not to refer to files in the form of sets!)

  I agree with Shootistbond007 - you have imported "everything" including images in backup locations.

  If they are not duplicates, to bring the "Dropbox" images on your drive hard that you drag a folder (in LR) in the Dropbox folder on the Lightroom folder.  for example, drag 'Gold Coast' on 'Lightroom' move 5872 images out of dropbox and in the folder "Lightroom".

  Keep on learning - always something to understand about Lightroom!
