In Details view, click the Type header. If you want to reverse the
ascending, descending, or vice versa, click on it a second
time.

I am running Windows 7 Professional, service pack 1. Windows Explorer is not sort correctly (name). I have searched this site and other forums but couldn't find suggestions.

    Hello

This is called "Intuitive" rather than the previous "literal" sort. The number 1173 is lower than 10091317, then it will appear first. First of all, this has been implemented in Windows XP.

There is an available tweak which may be closest to your preference.

Alternatively, you can reverse the sort order by simply clicking on the column name header.

In Windows, we can start the computer in different modes to find and fix problems on the PC for advanced troubleshooting. Such a troubleshooting mode is a Safe Mode with network. Here we start Windows with a minimal set of drivers and services, including the network drivers. Please refer to the procedure described in this article to start the computer in safe mode with networking:

    Startup options (including safe mode)

After you start the computer in Mode safe mode with networking, let us download the Microsoft Safety Scanner and perform a full scan of the computer security.

Step 2: Run Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if there are infections on the computer.

You can download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner from this link:

    Download Microsoft Safety Scanner

Important: When you run a scan with an anti-virus program, data files that are infected can be cleaned by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Hope this solves the problem. Please get back to us with updates.

  • How to customize the display of Windows Explorer to always be details and sort in descending for windows order save under and attach a file?

It is in this way for some applications such as Word and Excel, but not for others, such as Adobe Acrobat, Office Picture Manager and gmail. How can I get the attachment save as and file dialogs to always get to see the detail value?

I think that I thought about it!  Is there a way to have the Save As or tie with a particular view, but only developed dialog boxes for Windows programs. It doesn't seem to work with acrobat, google mail, etc.

In the dialog box after selecting Save as or Attach, modify display and sort columns as you wish. Then hold down the CTRL key while you leave the window. The next time you go into it should reflect what you put last. Don't ask me why this works, or why it only works with Microsoft products. I got this tip on another site.

  • The search results in Windows Explorer not always highlighted.

Windows Explorer in Windows 7 is just great!

But why is not always highlight the results of research (especially the Word documents) is beyond me.

In a typical search result list displays some highlighted, others do not. Why is this?

The highlight appears only if it exactly matches your search term.

See the following points that will work for you...

    1. If it is not too long, see if doing a system restore will fix the problem. Choose the date when IE ran okas your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

    2. start > Control Panel > Internet Options > advanced > reset > OK

    3. open IE > tools > compatibility view settings > check mark on display all websites in compatibility view.  (You can change it back at any time by just uncheck that box).

    4. right click on IE > click Start without Add-ons

    Hello Androidipous,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Community!

Scrolling occurs if you double-click the item that you are expanding. If you click on the arrow to the left of the file that you expand the list will stay where it is and lay them down.

The parchment you see Windows Explorer tries to display the full path to the parent records to existing records, but according to the list of the programs/size of the screen, the result can be that the folder is scroll to the bottom.

  • Use custom that sorts and types of lines in groups

I need to create a synthesis in DIAdem report. I have provided the raw data of another person. The data are organized in time. There are essentially 3 types of different lines that contain completely different data. What I would do is to separate the types of lines in 3 groups, then have the channels data support located in their respective groups. I want to put the data found in the first row of 20 or so as properties of the root if possible. I understand that it is a big business, any help would be very helpful thank you.

Is attached, the raw data and a diagram of the groups and channels (like what I'm looking for)

I wonder by my boss to do some work that is signifcantly beyond my programming abilities (which are limited). So help me. Please, I beg you. Thank you.

    Hi adevins76,

In fact, files *.log you sent are still missing at the time of the date/time string.  I forgot scan lines [UUT_TEST_LOG] in the root properties, now the does for *.txt files both use *.log (which encode information differently).

  • Can I put windows xp starter looking for win7 type file search

In win7 you just put the name of the song at the top when you open the file with over 25,000 songs which is optimal.

My laptop (1 GB ram) running windows xp starter edition and when I open my file of the song, the search button has nowhere to
write the name of the song. You must go through the research of your time on the left with much use of the mouse.

  • Where is "sort by type" in Local mode?

I want to sort all my different files in the local view of a new site, but for the life of me, I can't find where do. I even looked in the manual and couldn't find it. Someone told me it takes a 'typical' something to click, but it did not mention where he was. It is not under file, Edit, View, or Site, and I see nowhere else to look.

I have Dreamweaver MX, btw. Thank you.

I just discovered that. The problem is - if you're not in expanded view, the heading 'type' (or any other header) is absent. You won't find nowhere. Fortunately for me, I found an excerpt from info on display developed in my book of MX and checked.
