I received an e-mail from 'e' of what appears to be a microsoft Web site, ask for password of account etc, false or true
I received an e-mail from 'e' of what appears to be a microsoft Web site, they tell me my site will be closed down if I don't provide them with certain information, including the password etc, grammar seems somewhat imperfect, something on the network running slow and they (you) will have to clean (check) accounts This note was sent, I ignored the original e-mail from 'e' weeks but just received a notice/final warning that if I don't answer to my account will be closed to the down and out, it's from Microsoft. Thank you, Bill Collins

I received an e-mail from continual e appearing in my Inbox, no sender no 01/01/1970 content, how can I get rid of it?
Try to activate the market account: settings > Mail, Contacts, calendars, and then tap the account on the right-hand side of the screen, on the Mail to 'off' popup slide, exit settings and return to the Mail application, then return to the settings and drag the mail back to 'on '.
If this is not set then try to close the Mail application via the bar of multitasking to the iPad: double-click the home button to open the taskbar and then slide or drag the application Mail 'screen' upward and on the top of the screen to close and click the home button to close the taskbar.
Also to do a soft reset: press and hold buttons sleep and home for 10-15 seconds (ignore the red cursor), after which should appear the Apple logo - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent iPad for a reboot.

Thunderbird has worked for years OK but recently decided to ask for passwords of e-mail, and then ask again, several times, even though I told it to remember using pw Manager. When pw is given, he just keeps asking until I have abandon. Receives emails from Gmail, but I can't send Tbird. No problem with gmail itself as I can connect directly and send and receive mail, but then I get a message from gmail on Tbird telling me that I just connected via my browser. All very disappointing.

August 22, 2011 I just do a fresh install of Windows XP Professional formatting the hard drive. I then applied SP3 for an OEM CD, I bought from Microsoft several years (part number X 14-60166-02). Even if it is now at the level of the SP3, the automatic updates from the Microsoft web site will not work. If I bought the latest version of the SP3 CD-ROM, which will be the same as what I have now, or it will integrate all of the fixes that have taken place in recent years? Thanks for any help on this.
Run SFC/scannow
File system (CFS) auditor checks that all the XP files are where they should be, and that they are not corrupt.

I have a HP laptop about 3 years. I don't have the disks with it to reinstall. I have trouble starting up. Best Buys geeksquad says to reinstall windows 7.
If I can get on the internet can I reinstall from the Microsoft Web site free of charge or I have to go buy windows 7. If I have to buy that I would be better off to buy windows 8?
Original title: reinstall Windows 7
Hello
Welcome to the Microsoft community!
You can either reinstall the computer, which means it will have ANYTHING to this topic, or you can do a system restore when it was working fine.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows7/products/features/system-restore

I hope that the above suggestions work!
See you soon,.

Running Windows 7 home Premiun 64 x. Click to open the program the message pop up "Windows Media Player is not installed correctly and must be reinstalled. You want to install the Player from the Microsoft Web site? "that it takes to the site and there is no available media player Windows 7, installed WMP 11 does not work either. Tried to turn on and back on... did not work
Do you remember the last time that your Media Player worked properly? You can use the system restore (type it in the start menu to find) to go back on this point. This restoration takes about 2 minutes and will not affect your files - no matter how far you go. It simply restores your system files and settings.

As I've already bought the computer with the operating system installed on it and apparently I have not received any CD of the OS with it. But I have the ID of the product on the computer... is there a way where I could get a copy .iso of my operating system on the Microsoft Web site?
Thank you!
On-site upgrades are not well regarded by some contributors of this forum, including me. However if you want to try, I refer you to this link for an iso download...
But before you go this route, I would say as you explore the possibilities to fix the problems you have in other ways. Try to publish or questions about your problem and see what happens. You can save yourself a lot of grief.

is it a hoax? Please help asap-received a e-mail from Windows Live
I got the e-mail from windows live saying that my hotmail account is disabled in the next 24 hours because of several unsuccessful connection attempts, and I need to connect safely through activation here link. I havnt had any problems of connection and afraid that my account will be disabled. Help, please?
Looks like a scam 'possible' tent to get data from your password and id, is not? You are wise to be wary... Hotmail is distinct from MSE must go you elsewhere.

I received 2 calls today from someone speaking very rugged sayng they are Microsoft English
original title: Microsoft calls
Today, I received 2 calls from someone speaking very rugged sayng English they are from Microsoft and that they receive the error messages from my computer. I told them that I wanted someone to call me that their mother tongue was English and that I had read his name as if it was a scam... They are a scam, no? By the noise in the background, it is obvious that they call a center of mass-marketing appeal.
They certainly are. See: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/security/online-privacy/msname.aspx

I can't access my emails in windows mail - ask his password and account name?
I usually open windows mail and emails download automatically. I opened the windows mail yesterday and he asked for a user name and password - I have tried everything I know possible and not to accept anything. I really need to access my emails and do not know what to do.
Any ideas?
I can see previous emails received and sent etc. but I can't send or receive and he asked just the user name and password.
Make sure also that you have not intefering antivirus software. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 and it could help to compact and repair the database of Windows Mail (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).
