I run Vista system restore; Msg says could not complete - "an unspecified error occurred during system restore.

I tried to run the various restore points system restore.  Whenever the result is the same: msg says could not complete - "an unspecified error occurred during system restore.

Try again in Safe Mode.

What you are running for an anti-virus? If it's anything other than Microsoft Security Essentials, you may need to temporarily disable.

If this does not work, you can run it in Mode safe mode with command prompt. Once the command window appears. type %systemroot%\system32\rstrui.exe and press ENTER. The system restore GUI will go up, and you can restore to the date / time selected, or select a time different everything such as running Windows.

I can't open the RAW files from my Nikon D800 (i.e. NEF files).  I use a Mac with Photoshop CS5 and El Capitan 10.11.2 version running.  I get a message that "could not complete your request because the file appears to be a model of camera that is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. • Photoshop CS6 says-"Could not complete your request because of a program error" on adding keyframes

    Greetings,

I use Adobe Photoshop CS6 to edit a video. This is a file created in the past that contains small animations such as opacity and some transformations. The last time that I finished working with the file, everything was perfect and has worked flawlessly.

I recently decided to open the file again to add an animated layer/chart. I added a text layer with a long string of numbers and a layer mask. The mask is not related to the text.

When I animate the layer using 'turn' (the moving text, from one side to the other), a keyframe is created. The problem is that I can't scrub the timeline for a time before the last keyframe (including the first keyframe). When I try to do so, or when I simply click on the button to the beginning of the video, I get this error: "Could not complete your request because of a program error."

I tried to remove a lot of the old layers to get rid of their animations, in which case it was a problem of resource memory or something and it doesn't work. I closed and restarted the PS, still without success.

Please help me solve this problem. Thank you and have a nice day.

    I FIXED IT :)

I placed the text layer in its own folder. I then applied the layer mask in the folder, not the layer.

The text layer anime now, the error does not occur.

This shows that, at least on my system, Photoshop would allow me to animate the text layer if the layer itself had a mask that was not related to her.

If someone wants to venture guess as to why it happened, don't hesitate. I hope that the situation described above is not necessary a work-around, he must have worked as originally planned.

Take care and have a nice day.

Hello?  Did someone at Ms tuned?  This answer does not work.  Now I'm up to 12 hours on the phone with MS in India and Texas... Have reinstalled the operating system.  Have downloaded several log files.

Summary: it may not be one solution other than a clean reinstall of the operating system and all applications.  Ugh.

Update - June 25, 2011: spent another six hours on the phone with MS: FIXED!  Solution: manually set all permissions in the "System Volume Information" to the SYSTEM.  You must do so separately each item in the folder. If you miss one, the backup will fail.

Update - July 15, 2011: worked well for 10 times now.  No problem and can also restore.
