I think my windows media player has been deleted... :(help

I can't find the windows media anywhere on my computer drive.

is there a way I can download it?
Thank you!

Unless you have an "N" of Windows 7 edition, you must have Windows Media Player. If you have an "N" edition, please visit:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/is-is/Windows7/products/what-is-Windows-7-N-Edition

For more details and a download link.

The case, first try to find the executable file for Windows Media Player and create a new shortcut from that.

1. open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer).

2. navigate to:

C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player (if you have Windows 7 32-Bit *)

C:\Program Files (x 86) \Windows Media Player (if you have Windows 7 64-Bit *)

3. find the file named wmplayer.exe and then right-click on it and create a shortcut on the desktop.

4. test the shortcut.

If the above does not work, try:

1. click on Start (lower-left) and then on Control Panel.

2. click on programs and features.

3. on the left side of the screen, click on 'Windows turn features on or off".

4. look for the entry called multimedia features, expand it and then check the box next to Windows Media Player.

5. click on OK.

6 reset.

If the Windows Media Player box is already checked, uncheck the box , clickOK, restart, then do steps 1-6 above.

* To see if you're running 32-bit or 64-Bit Windows click:

Start-> Control Panel-> system

Then look at where it says, "System Type".

  • I get a message "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem" when I browse me videos.

When I browse my library of videos in Windows Media Player 11 on Windows XP SP3, I got a message "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to close." The message does not appear immediately, but after about 5 seconds browsing my library of videos. The details of the error are:
    AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: ModName 11.0.5721.5145: deinterlace.ax
    ModVer: 1.0.1.0 Offset: 00001cba

Someone just tell me how to solve the problem. Apparently, some corrupt videos caused Windows Media Player to plant as soon as thumbnails of the videos have been read. I quickly changed to a non-thumbnail view, so the error would not appear (it appears only when you try to load the photos), then deleted corrupted videos. Thanks for the help, if.

  • Windows Media Player has encountered a problem...

"Windows Media Player has encountered a problem during the synchronization of the file to the device. For any additional help click web help. »

This is the last error I get. Web site of Microsoft, and then said: you received the C00D1236 error message when you use Windows Media Player. Cannot sync the file.

So, what led up to it is:

1 problems with the device for a long time.

    2. Finally studied and found the latest firmware and update the device. This fixed some problems, which is excellent, but caused worse problems.

    3. I was getting: "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file may be in use, you won't have access to the computer on which the file is stored, or your proxy settings are may not be incorrect. "on several random files. He could do and then if I deleted everything and tried again, it could do with different files. He took too long between files during synchronization. So, I found this post: http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=clip&message.id=18501&query.id=12003#M18501 and formatted with Windows Media Player. (I've now formatted every way possible, I think.) Of course, we fixed it. Problem files synchronized immediately, but then almost all my other files could not synchronize with the most recent error.

    A. in addition, the playlist does not work. Even if I get the playlist on the device, there is no songs in there. Songs/podcasts are only available through other classifications.

    B. After you have installed the program to update the firmware, there is now a remnant TSR who dies when I plug my video. "Universal firmware updater for Sandisk Sansa MP3 players has stopped working". Can I disable or uninstall this program, but it's just another problem. I am running Vista with all latest patches.

Any help? You will be able to synchronize all files and playlists will work well.

AHA! I think that I thought about it. I deleted all files in the Cache files of Player\Transcoded of AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media and now everything is sync again.

He always does this weird thing once again. When the screen is black and I'm listening to something, if I hit the ring of command, as for example, hit the screen do not necessarily come back. • "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when burning the file to disk"?

"I ENCOUNTERD CE WHEN BURNING YEAR MP3 AUDIO CD AND NOW I wanted TO KNOW WHY IT WON'T WORK THAT IS THE CODE POPPING up" Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when burning the file to disk ' WHAT CAN BE THE PROBLEM

    Hello MactabardX,

I try and remove Windows Media Player and then reinstall it.
Uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Media Player:
    Step 1.
    Uninstalling Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. search for multimedia and uncheck the brand in the face of Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer

    Step 2.
    Reinstall Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. find the multimedia functions and place a check mark in front of the Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer.

If you encounter problems with Windows Media Player, try to use the Troubleshoot utility to see if that fixes the problem.

Open the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. Click View all, and then click the Windows Media Player settings.

If the size of the .wmv files is too large, it can cause Windows Media Player to stop working.

I try and remove videos from Windows Media Player library and test to see if the size of the files could be a problem.

If please reply back and let us know if these steps helps.

    Original title: Erro Media

I am trying to open a video that has been downloaded to my computer out of a panasonic camcorder, but every time I try to play I get a message that says that Windows Media Player has encountered a problem while playing the file. What is the problem and how can I solve this problem? I'm on Windows 7 Starter

    Hello

    Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community!

If I understand correctly, you are unable to play the video file downloaded from the camera.

    Please answer these questions:

    1. What is the file format of the file?

    2. were you able to read the file before?

    3. is the specific issue of the file?

4 you did changes to the computer before the show?

    We defer the following methods:

    Method 1:

Step 1: Here is the list of the formats supported by Windows Media player file:

Information on the types of media files that supports Windows Media Player:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316992

Note: See if the file format is in this list, if it is not there, you may need a third-party codec that can read the file.

Step 2: For more information about codecs, see article given:

    Codecs: Frequently asked questions:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/codecs-frequently-asked-questions

Important: WARNING: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

Method 2: I also suggest you to run the Windows media player troubleshooting:

Open the troubleshooter in the Windows Media Player settings:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-settings-Troubleshooter

Hope this information helps. Don't answer if you need assistance, we will be happy to help you.
