I live in the Denmark and the Danish version of Win7 64, I was able to install from a CD LR6 after choosing not win 7 (was not available), but (if I remember) "no specific compatibility. After installation I clicked on LR6 and changed the favorite to Win7 program compatibility.

  You apparently Forefront security or installed Microsoft Security Essentials. If this is the case, you can not install Windows Defender. MSE already has an element antispyware anyway. So what antivirus/security software you have already installed on the computer? I don't like Windows Defender on XP machines in any case.   What happens when it stops it is have a Sata driver. It is on the drivers cd you received with your computer. You can also start the computer and press F2 to enter the bios. From there down to Configuration system - SATA Operation and change this to ATA. It is located to AHCI. Save the changes and restart the installation. Once you have loaded Windows and drivers installed, you will need to go back to AHCI.
