  Please, open the Task Manager and check the process, if you see that Photoshop.exe is running.

  Please select Photoshop.exe and make the end of the task.

  Once that is done, try opening Photoshop.

  If you are unable to perform the above steps, just reboot the machine and then try opening Photoshop.

  If not, uninstall the Photoshop from the Control Panel, restart the machine and install from the creative cloud.

  I bought a genuine product Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard about 3 years ago. After the initial installation (with serial number) applications worked well (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.). However, I could only use Acrobat a few weeks before the software did not react more. After this time all pdf files can be manually opened with Adobe Reader, but not with Acrobat.   Why should you install 32 & 64-bit versions of programs?  In InDesign and Illustrator, you can uninstall the 32-bit versions using the Windows uninstall program, but it won't let you do that in Photoshop; would be nice if one you were given the choice during installation to save your download quota and road space.

  Do you have serialized product with serial number shared KB doc himself or made use of your serial number?

  In the link KB in which Setup is shared for CS2, serial number is also shared to be used at installation time.

  I forgot to mention that I use an old but competent office which fine funtions using CS2. 32-bit Windows, XP Home Edition Sp3, 2.56 GB of RAM.

  There is no need to uninstall the CS2 before or after. If you think that some things are easier to do in CS2, creating presentations, PDF etc. (now moved to the bridge)
