I use an AMD Radeon R9 390, rendered with GPU in Media Encoder takes forever. Am I missing something?

The title says it all.

I do video in Adobe Media Encoder, but my 20 Minute video takes up to 55 Minutes to restore (1080 p, 10 Mbps). Normally, I should be able to return with OpenCL, but my use of the graphics card is 1% (24% CPU) and Ram at 25%.

I used an NVIdIa graphics card, and I'm pretty sure that made with the card NVidia is much faster although the R9 is much better.

So, I'm not an expert. Is there something that I am missing? Is there something I can do?

Thanks for your time,

  • AMD Radeon R9 390

So I just ordered a Gigabyte Radeon R9 390 and impatient of this I hope to work in Adobe Premiere Pro via OpenCL to leverage GPU acceleration performance effects, rendering and playback via Mercury engine.

Although the 390, or even the 3xx series is not officially listed as a supported cards, I'm curious if other cards R9 are supported if 3xx new cards will work? Currently, the list of the supported AMD OpenCL Radeon R9 for CC2014/15 is:

    • AMD Radeon R9 280
    • AMD Radeon R9 280
    • AMD Radeon R9 280 X
    • AMD Radeon R9 285
    • AMD Radeon R9 290
    • AMD Radeon R9 290 X
    • AMD Radeon R9 295 X 2

After searching around on the forums and the internet, I can't find someone out there, using a 390 R9 with Premiere Pro. So is there anyone using this card and power share there experiences and shed some light on the R9 390 potentially works or doesn't work is not in first Pro CC2014/15?

I just got my R9 390 and that you have configured, and wow, it's incredible.  I can honestly say that opencl is definitely the way to go. The 390 R9 of Gigabyte is a slightly shorter than most which is great for installation on the computer.

Two very fast trials and render times are now reduced to about half the previous time perhaps even more. Rub the performance at the time, the line is amazing (why I have not done this earlier). Even tested with 4K GH4 images and full size with multi effects applied... and it's only a few audits smile emoticon I'm happy reading is an understatement.

Someone ask if a GPU of AMD OpenCL can cut the mustard, you certainly cannot.

  • AMD Radeon HD 6990 compatible with HP p7-1245 diamond? AMD Radeon HD 7450 Crossfire is the best?

I play SWTOR with 25 mb internet and can't play on the spot. Just try to solve the problem of graphics agitated with the AMD Radeon HD 7450 card provided with the desktop HP p7 1245. Wouldn't be better to go with a configuration Crossfire or more powerful card like the diamond AMD Radeon HD 6990 or higher?

Your system won't "Crossfire", "Hybrid Crossfire" or 'Dual AMD graphics card'... whatever you want to call. Only, the system has a PCIe x 16 location and uses Intel GMA on board. Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p7-1245. According to specifications, your system has a 300 Watt power supply. To install anything but a low range graphics card, you'll need to replace the power supply. The Corsair CX500 and CX600 are highly recommended and favorite forum. • Rendering with GPU Quadro K2200

    Hello

I noticed during the rendering of a project through Media Encoder that my CPU usage is at 100%

Open GPU - z and noticed that the GPU seems not to make any charge on it.

AFAIK rendered CUDA is activated, and when he was working the gpu takes big load.

It seems to be the problem?

According to the effects used on a sequence and a few other things, PrPro or can not use the GPU that much into rendering. Encoding codec it tends to do as an operation of the CPU. A few others here can give more detailed information, like in certain situations, it's a ton of work, many others very little.

  • More than an hour sequences Audio Rendering issue in Adobe Media Encoder (of AE)

    Hello world

I have a rendering problem when I send an After Effects composition longer than 1 hour to Adobe Media Encoder for encoding H264 files. In this case, I'm trying to make a rendering already 70 min. 23 976 fps DPX sequence combined with an audio ".wav" file in the composition and audio file H264 made by SOUL plays and spent the 'silent' 10-minute silent for the first 10 minutes is normally in the last 59 minutes and 59 seconds exactly.

I tried every posible 'solution' (change the audio file .wav to .aiff and .mp3) and assigning more ram to Adobe Media Encoder and it restores the same every time.

    Help, please!

    Oscar.

If you can't track down the audio problems, otherwise, you have two options. Make a codec to production at AE then compress your master SOUL production reach your subtitles (or use dynamic binding) on a lossless with alpha format in AE and marry them to the original video and audio in the body.

In fact, the first thing I tried when would have problems audio that appeared to render a production control using a visually lossless as QuickTime JPEG 2000 format and then compressed in the SOUL.

  • Renderer AE CS4 / Adobe Media Encoder will not create a container for h.264 blu - ray

    That is the problem.

First of all, I tried to make a model using the inside the AE render engine using the blu - ray h.264 preset.

It was supposed to create 1 file, but I found myself with 3: track audio, video and a file with the extension .xmpses.

I then decided to make in .mov lossless, which works fine, but 03:40 minutes occupies more than 8 GB, which is obviously unacceptable.

After that, I put the .mov file in Media Encoder to try h.264 blu - ray there.

    Absolutely the same *.

I use the Mac in AE CS4 version.

Here is the screenshot of the original .mov file and the result. As you can see, he refuses to make a container. This is absolutely unacceptable

It raises another question: what settings should I encode the layout in 720 p resolution without taking up a lot of space?

Well, it depends on if you need a master of production (something for broadcasting, for example, or to use as a source for the other tasks of coding), or if you want a version for distribution. If this is the first, there is nothing wrong with "plenty of room" - A Quicktime file with a PNG or Animation codec is a good idea, but it will take a lot of space. If it is the latter, H264 is perfect, but there is no built-in preset to take 720 material on the web.

    You could do this:

    * Choose the generic H264. You will see that it will give an error if you try to make, since the default setting uses a H264/level profile allowing you to use HD resolutions.

    * In the H264 video options, set the menu 'Profile' to 'Hand' and 'Level' 4.0. That will keep compatible for Quicktime and Flash player, while allowing larger heights and higher rates.

    * If you Webcast addressing the value flow target to 5-8 Mbps and Maximum flow at 9-10 Mbps. It's a little more that Apple uses to 720 p on the Apple TV content, for example.

The screening of origin H264 will tell you in the comment field to expand to 640 x 480 output Module. It is useless, since you are using a profile/level combination that allows higher heights.

    > Can nevertheless use the Version?
You can install it, but the use is at your own risk.
To my knowledge the Toshiba drivers are changed and designed for mobile use.

    > When the update Toshiba comes?
I noticed that Toshiba release new models of laptops very often and drivers that will come out of this new series. So in the case of the new laptop model uses the same series of ATI graphics, you can use the same driver.

  • Allowing the AMD Radeon R9 M370X (MacBook Pro mid-2015) for accelerating GPU on Adobe Premiere Pro and other

    Hi all

I just "upgraded" my MacBook Pro to a model of end of 2013 with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M to a whole new model mid-2015 with an AMD Radeon R9 M370X.

To compare performance, configure queues of same rendering with Premiere Pro Media Encoder in four sequences. These sequences contained native 4 K XAVC I, but four sequences have been "cropped" on a chronology of 25 1080 p, which means that I actually not export 4 K images. All four were slightly different, but while a 50 minutes.

As I wanted to get an example of 'real world', I left on the old machine as CUDA rendering engine, as it's the best performance I can get the machine and the rendering engine on the new machine that OpenCL.

I have to fill out a similar task at least once a week, so I know by experience, a queue of rendering as it takes about 2 hours by sequence to return.

The results were very interesting and a little tell-satisfactory. Essentially, render on the CUDA compatible machine times were about 30% faster through all sequences of four compared to the AMD powered machine.

Perhaps, somewhat lengthy explanation, but basically, I would like to know how to activate the acceleration in Adobe CC GPU - but especially with Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder.

Apple seem to think that they support OpenCL (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202823), AMD announce their compatibility with Adobe CC (http://www.amd.com/en-us/solutions/software-partners/adobe) - then why my GPU does not appear as a recommended here model? - https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html

Any advice or suggestions are appreciated.

    Hey Connor,

This R9 card comes out MAY 2015 and 2015 CC was released on June. So, any card (s) that is listed in Premiere Pro specifications list must pass appropriate tests. In addition, credit cards that has a 1 GB of VRAM is likely to allow "mercury Playback Engine" for use CUDA or open CL features.

According to the rendering time is considered as MVidia GT 750 M has a priority on AMD R9 M370X. You can check and compare the two cards, and also check the link below.

  • AMD Radeon HD/Intel switchable graphics

    Hello

Since I upgraded to window 10 I can't use my AMD Radeon hd graphics card.

and I have not choice on most catalyst to switch from one card to the other, what I can do, basically my computer run only on intel HD graphics card, without any open gl, no games more...

    Thank you

    I have a hp dv7

    HP Pavilion dv7 - 6B 00 series

    flcph2015

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the situation is that you should not do the upgrade of Win10.  Their upgrade tool has done a really poor job of detecting switchable graphics before the updrade, and as a result, people like you end up with machines that are no longer fully functional.  Same thing happened to me.

With switchable graphics, the only work pilots come from OEM making machines, because the material is suitable, so having to be engines.  MS does not supply these drivers any more than the video card manufacturers.

So, without driver HP Win10 for your PC, you're stuck with only two results:

    (1) keep Win10 and faced with the problem of graphs

    (2) to return your PC to the original operating system.

I chose the second because I prefer a PC with an OS more old where everything worked, to a PC with a new operating system, where things don't work.

  • AMD Radeon R7 E460 graphics card problem

    Hello

I bought a new Lenovo E460 Full HD with the graphics card AMD Radeon R7 M360 inside. I also asked a + 4 GB of ram, so I now have 8 GB. My problem is that I constantly freezes when I use a video editing software and 3d. It's a regular shift, like every few seconds. 1.2.3.. gel 1.2.3.freeze etc. I also tried to change a lower quality in the software properties, but nothing changes. If this happens when I use the AMD Radeon graphics card. When I use the graphics Intel HD 520, AMD drivers uninstalled or just fashionable, the problem disappears energy saving. I tried with AMD drivers Lenovo site, also the site of AMD, I tried to update the drivers for Windows 10 too, the problem persists. GPU - Z, I installed and I saw that the bus PCIe 4 x all the time when graphics software is used instead of x 8 supported. I don't know if this is normal. This is a brand new laptop (2 weeks) and I can't do my job on a daily basis like this. Help, please!

    Thanks in advance,

  • AMD Radeon HD M 7730 not really work. I've seen this discussed much problem, but I have not found a solution.

I'm running a 64-bit windows 7 Ultimate x (I have recently reinstalled windows, but he did not before). Well my laptop is not using the AMD Radeon HD M 7730 driver it's just with the intell 4000 driver. I tried reinstalling the drivers, updating them, I tried AMD Catalyst 13.2 Beta4 and well nothing works. And when I updated the driver AMD could not perform what be the theme aero worked, but I couldn't launch games or videos.
I know my English is not so good, but I'll do my best to explain what you need if I get assistance.

    Hi Gubamaharama,

I answer on behalf of Dell Amogh G.

Laptops with a switchable graphics feature have two graphics (GPU) - an energy-saving, Integrated GPU and a powerful, discreet GPU. Computers equipped with a power saving GPU Intel and an AMD high performance GPU combine the advantages of low power of a GPU integrated with maximum performance of a discrete GPU.

By default, a computer with switchable graphics uses the integrated or energy conservation, GPU for most applications. The computer switches automatically to the discreet or high-performance GPU when an application requires more performance. You can configure the applications that require the GPU performance by selecting the application in the Catalyst Control Center software. When an application is configured to use the GPU high-performance computer rocking graphics solutions when the application is started or closed.

You can check the video below on how to configure the AMD Radeon switchable graphics card:

    cs_setInnerHtml ('video_2c182906-7926 - 4ca 8-9951 - 8b78edf0e5e6', ");

I hope this helps. Answer please if you have any questions.

  • Compatibility of AMD Radeon GPU has been removed in CS6?

    I was wondering...

I checked the trial of the CS6 AE and noticed that I can not use my GPU in CS5.5, I was able to.

I'm using an AMD Radeon HD 6950 2 GB and CS6 tells me the GPU is not available or has a device driver or incompatible display.

I have the latest drivers for my graphics card so I don't think it's the latter.

Compatibility of GPU AMD Radeon withdrawn in favour of NVIDIA or is the whole part of OpenGL of AE gone?

Based on this Panel, everything was okay. You have no CUDA, which is normal, since it is NVidia only.

  • The GPU acceleration is grayed out in first and AE, but not in Media Encoder. However, the rendering is slow in all 3 programs.

    It worked fine in CS6.

Now, whenever I open a project (Pr or Ae) I get the message: this project has been modified used with accelerated by GPU rendering. This happens with all projects, even with those that I created in the Pr/Ae CC, with already disabled accelerated by GPU rendering.

In Media Encoder, the GPU acceleration is not grayed out, but still if I made a first sequence or model ae via ME, its very very slow. (takes 5 hours for a video that took 20 minutes in CS6)

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you, Daniel

I didn't have the time to post it yesterday, but you have found similar work around. What is happening is the decoding of earlier projects, or projects of the same version even sometimes won't boot the MPE of hardware engine. These files are cached and won't clear for this sequence until you delete the cache. 1 way to do is to replace the clips. The easiest is in the future change the EMT of the material to the MPE software and select delete the files from the cache when it invites. Then return to the MPE material and clear the cache again. That recreates the decoded files cache that often solves this problem.

  • 10 x slower with media encode that Premiere pro direct export of rendering

We use CS5 (use Adobe since 2004). I opened a sequence (published in first without length fantasy effect - it just open title & title closing - 4 minutes). It's HDV so nothing special or out of the ordinary.

If I turn the sequence by clicking on FILE = > EXPORT = > MEDIA and export in this way it will take about 1 minute to make the file.

If I close first and open Media Encoder and import the same sequence and return with exactly the same settings, it will take 10 or 11 minutes to render.

I tried the most obvious areas such as closing all other programs and only opening media encoder, as well as ensure that the allocation of RAM is the same for media encode, but nothing seems to restore Media Encoder at the same speed.

No matter what video format is on the entry or export... media encoding is always much slower.

Why Media Encoder takes much longer to make?

You have a CUDA card that can run hardware MPE?  You're upgrading scaling and deinterlacing of video on export?  You have a maximum quality made verified?

If you answered Yes to all 3 questions, then this is the answer to your question.  SOUL CS5 uses the MPE software for certain operations (such as scaling and deinterlacing) even if the MPE material is available.  Direct export of the Pr use an MPE material for these same operations.
