I've just updated to firefox 7.0 8.0 Firefox my norton 360 protect me when I use firefox 8.0

Update of Norton toolbar for Firefox 8 is out-> http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Firefox-8-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/581640

You may need to reactivate 2 extensions for Norton in the Add-ons > Extensions after installing Firefox 8. Firefox 8 automatically disables third-party modules. When you start Firefox 8 for the first time (and only the first start of Firefox 8 time), you are given the option to check the items you want to be active. After that, activation of the modules can be done in the Add-ons > Extensions.

One possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox in the list of permissions in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

The toolbar is the Norton 360 toolbar. I know that this does not affect the protection, we love just to be there and I would rather not the update of Firefox to not have this toolbar!

  • Hi there, just updated for FireFox 20.0.1. on Windows7pro SP1. The problem is that the TabGroupsManager module is now unusable. Urgent, what should I do?

I have 14 groups, when Firefox starts 1 1 of the groups tab appears, I can switch to one of the other tabs in the SAME group and the display of the window/too - normal changes. I can choose another group, the selection indicates (changes of (suspended) black to white (active/not suspended) but the display of the window/don't move not to the newly selected group, the display of the window/rest the same.)

    Hi David,

It has been 2 hours since my first answer, and my problem is solved.

I uninstalled FireFox20, but I chose the option to keep the history, settings, etc.

I had the file for Firefox17. I executed the file. Firefox17 installed, run, and just-like-that Firefox with TabGroupsManager - with all my tabs and pages, even the Add-ons, is running. As the problem never happened.

    I am so happy!!!

I am also grateful for all the talented people at Mozilla - and other providers of open source IE. VLC, that allowed, for 10 years and more, to be immersed by the ideas & information from the infinite internet.

    Wish you all the best!

  • Just updated to Firefox 29.01 it does not at all. When I opened it that won't load sites that shows just the busy circle floating around forever. It is unusable.

28 Firefox worked fine, but when asked a pop up opening firefox update to 29.01 I found there was a lot of security issues for 28 so I've manually updated to the 29.01 by going in "subject, check updates, etc." Once downloaded 29.01 and got told to restart, I restarted firefox. When I opened it, I found that it is unusable. It will not open a single Web site. It does not load my homepage. It has all my before Favorites from the Favorites toolbar, but I can't go to anything. I closed and tried to run cc cleaner as I always do, but I get the message "firefox takes too long to close would you like to force a shutdown", but the forced shutdown does not close it no more. I opened the Task Manager to try to close it from there, but firefox does not appear. I don't know what to do. I am all this typing chrome b/c I can't use the latest version of firefox. I've never had this happen before. I also ran in safe mode and it's the same thing. Please help and please answer in simple terms, because I'm not a computer expert. I took a few screenshots I'll join. In fact, I don't see anywhere to attach a picture so I can not. Also, I don't understand the green "add automatically" button which is located under this box on the support page of mozilla. Also, when I went to help, on the page in the upper corner of firefox just now to check the version it says "firefox is updated by another body." That the devil which means? Never seen it ever. Appreciate any help.

Well, then I can say happily that I'm typing this on firefox yay! I managed to do work, and here's how it is for everyone who is having this problem (well at least this is the solution that finally worked for me). RESTART your computer. NOT simply stop there. It does not work (not for me at least). I rebooted the computer initially there are a few min b/c my was not analysis Norton and I wanted to analyze the new 'new installation' I had to FF. After the computer has been restarted, my norton worked. So I said Hey, maybe I'll give you my FF update 29.0.1 a last try before you install a new firefox, in the hope that maybe restart the computer would have worked. So I opened it and omg he loaded my homepage. It works! In addition, among other first problems I've come across is impossible to bookmark a site. I found the solution. Just go to the upper menu right (it has 3 horizontal lines) and right-click the little star icon that we're used to that means bookmarks. A small menu will appear. Click on "move to the toolbar", and which should put it on the top right of your browser so that you can bookmark things. Hope the tip of restart helps anyone who was having the same problem I was Firefox being unusable! And if you have the bookmark problem, hope it helps you too. Wow. I am so happy that I can finally use FF now! Also, I kept the setting of "no hardware acceleration off the coast." Do not precisely know what that did, but leaving since that works. Oh, one last thing: I closed FF and ran cc cleaner and had NO problem with her telling me that FF would not close. Then restart the computer that solved this way. Yay!

  • I just updated to Firefox 23.0 for Macs and installed updates for Flash and Silverlight; Now Google 'search tools' & find image will not work correctly. Suggestions?

When I click on 'search tools', options are no longer displayed (for example, the tool that allows a search of limited date or search for videos of different lengths). I happened to have a search page open before the update and drop-down menus to search tools always appear on this page, but if I click on it, the menu drops down, so I can't change the options. When I do an image search, the results page shows only 20 or if the images and the rest of the results appear only as gray rectangles with/without any image. Search tools work normally in other browsers, I installed it, but Firefox is my default browser (and I'm happy with that), so I want to fix the problem. I don't know if it is associated with the updates, I did yesterday, but it's the only thing I can think of that's changed. Before that, the search tools have been working properly.

  • I've just updated for Firefox 6.0.2 and it freezes again intermitantly. It lasts 30 to 60 seconds. Before the update, it froze intermitantly for more than 60 seconds. Help me unlock firefox!

Firefox will crash and say don't ANSWER DO NOT randomly. It happened when I updated to 6. I don't want to break into my system to make it work when Firefox 5 and less worked well.

change fix found! You can downgrade, but it is recommended that you switch to Firefox 3.6, which is still supported, while Firefox 5 and 6 are not.

Any problem is quite likely to be plugins or add-ons that you use instead of Firefox itself. These problems are often very specific to installation and combinations of extensions of the software used, so if you have not a problem with Firefox does not it may help to start your own thread with all the details of your own configuration.

If you receive a message saying it does not then probably nothing crashes actually.

If you are not an accident, it could be (in order of severity)

    • your OS: Windows that blocks,.
    • the browser Firefox itself,
    • or the execution of a process of Firefox as a plugin container.

Firefox itself is generally quite stable and responsive. (You seem to use a 64-bit computer, if problems are unlikely to relate to the machine doesn't meet does not Firefox minimum specifications)

First try in Firefox to solve the issues in firefox Safe Mode , but not to make changes when you get the checklist simply click on continue. Then, if that fails to help, try disabling or uninstalling plugins and themes. See troubleshooting questions with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems.

  • Just updated to Firefox 6, now right click does not work. No idea why?

Make a right-click on any open page has no answer. Make a right click works in the menu strip

Try Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.

A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open the Firefox 4, 5, 6, 7 SafeMode pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

If it's good in Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

  • I've just updated to Firefox 5 and google toolbar no longer works. How can I go back?

    What are the details?

locking - asked & answered several times - moderator

fuminhere, only Google can make the decision to declare the toolbar compatible with a new version of Firefox. Unfortunately they did not again. Firefox automatically disables extensions that are not marked as compatible. In this case, the toolbar is marked as compatible with Firefox 4, but not Firefox 5.

If you do not want to wait for Google to update its compatibility information, you can install the journalist to add on compatibility and use this tool to disable the compatibility check. But be very careful, very often, there is a good reason why an extension is not marked as ready for a new version of Firefox.

  • I've just updated to Firefox 17.0.1 and now I can't click a bookmark to open it or open new tab when you click New tab.

I have several bugs mentioned in FF 17.0.1. I'm only able to open bookmarks by clicking on them and selecting open in a new tab in the menu dropdown. I can't open a new tab by clicking the new tab or by clicking Open a new tab in the menu at the top of the browser drop-FF. In addition, no buttons work in FF, such as home, previous, next or update. It is so aggravating!

Once I posted this, I restarted with Add ons disabled and it worked... deleted a cpl of addons for the verification of the compatibility and fixed it.
