Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

If you do not keep the changes after a reboot or have problems with preferences, see:

If you like Advanced SystemCare software that could restore some files from older versions to protect files against the changes and then check their settings or uninstall this software.

  • How to fix: downloads of Firefox is set on "ask me where to save files" permanently

I recently reformatted my computer Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. It is also the same OS that I used until I formatted it. I installed the latest version of Firefox as usual. But after a few days of use, I noticed that whenever I am downloading something or save an image he'll always ask me to the place where to save my files.

Even if I repeatedly put in a specific directory. I already searched this thread:
    http://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/977944

There are some posts that I don't understand, but I have tried the reset of the Director of downloads and last directory. I also tried to make a new user, but nothing is done, I was not yet successful. I have not tried to uninstall firefox and put it back, because I want to avoid this at any price, because I think that it's a hassle for all my work recently marked with a bookmark and all my emails and details of work in the browser.

Any idea on what to do to solve this problem? It is not a very big problem, but if you think about it, it will be sometimes annoying in the future.

    Anyone experienced this before?

P.S. I don't have this problem until I formatted my computer.

You seem to have some download extensions installed.

  • Firefox keeps asking me to open/download PHP file when she used to be able to display properly.

I use to be able to view local PHP files normally in Firefox with parts PHP not rendered, HTML elements are. Now he's asking if I want to open or save.

I tried FF editing options so that it presents a preview in FF, but it does not accept the changes. I cleared my cache and everything. I tried to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file thing, but I can not find the folder, in that it is. I tried deactivating/activating "prompts.tab_modal.enabled" in subject: config then restarting FF.

    All are prohibited.

Web PHP pages load correctly, this problem only when I am trying to load local PHP files. I don't want to install XAMPP or PHP on my computer just to view the files them that I've never had this problem before.

In the meantime, I installed Chrome and it loads a local simple PHP file very well while FF asks me to save/download when you open the SAME file. Thanks in advance for any help.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file

Try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all the actions file.

  • After update of firefox-testing repo for ubuntu lucid, the new 10 firefox always crashes when I open it.

This behavior is also indicated in safe mode,
    Tried the following things: -.
    1. re-install.
    2. withdrawal of profile for any other position.
    Now the error is as
"Firefox is already running but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system. »
Rebooted but the same message is displayed again.

Problem solved. I removed the repo steady mozillateam from my list of sources. Then deleted firefox using "apt - get remove firefox" and then installed firefox after a reboot. Also removed ".mozilla" folder in my home directory, which was probably the root of this problem. Now replaced my previous profile FF 10 woking great.

  • Firefox 20.0.1 - option 'Always ask where to save the files' not 'Downloads' folder not going.

    Firefox 20.0.1 on WinXP SP3.

Previously, when I always selected "ask where to save files" Firefox would start from the default download folder - it I had shortcuts to locations which usually to record on.

Now Firefox insists on starting from the root of C: - and I don't know how to change this behavior.

I would like it to start from the default download folder it used to. This is the place where I got these shortcuts and I do NOT wish to place these shortcuts to the root of C:.

go to Subject: config find (or copy/paste form here) browser.download.folderList right-click on it, select modify and change the value to 2. Release of firefox, restart it and check again.

    Thank you

You set downloads to always go to a folder or to ask you every time.

    • Options > general > downloads section

      • ' Save files to: "and choose a folder (always stops in this case) {This is the default setting for Firefox, you can change the folder or move in" always ask me... "} {"below}
      • "Always ask me where to save files.

The classic way is to select always ask me where to save files in the Options tab. To open it, click on the menu button at the top right and select Options, the corresponding feature is in the general Panel, downloadssection.

    Did you do that?

  • Cannot be used after I installed Firefox 38 Netflix. Always ask to install Silverlight?

I was under the impression that we can now play videos Netflix without using Silverlight, after the new update. I did not understand correctly? Netflix is always asking me to install Silverlight. I uninstalled it after reading the changes.

Netflix still test the module Adobe DRM and has not signed on this issue yet, so Silverlight will be necessary until Netflix allows this plugin module to use.

  • Why firefox repeatedly asked if I want to save a password when I already clicked ever "for this site?

I like the fact that Firefox will save my passwords, but I don't want that to record the essential password like banking etc. When I enter my banking website, Firefox asks "I want to save this password". I click "never for this site". But the next time I'm on my Bank's Web site, he asks me the same question again and again.

Is there a way I can stop Firefox do this? Either way, my bank site never appears in the 'Exceptions' box (to the saved passwords).
