Hi Todd,

See the answer of André in the following thread (and the references that it provided) which I think will confirm what I suspect you already know, but not want to hear and have been in the hope of an alternative 'trick': http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_install/downgrade-windows-8-to-7-and-i-need-a-product-key/5cfa2b3e-66ac-4136-a1be-ef1883778103.

Sorry it isn't brand-new best for you.

Good luck and best wishes,

Kosh

  • Downgrade from Windows 7 Pro 64-bit of Windows XP pro 32 bit

    Hello

I have a desktop running windows 7 pro 64-bit, but need to switch to windows XP pro 32-bit as I has an electronic Development Council which is not easily compatible with this version.  I understand from licensing that as I Pro I would be entitled to downgrade, this applies to the downgrading to 32-bit as well.  If it's ok where can I download some ISO Windows XP pro 32 course and it's just a case of putting my windows 7 inside product key?

    Hello

Until you, ensure that you will have drivers for your hardware + devices on x 86 XP. If this isn't the case, I wouldn't do the downgrade you will have many problems.

Did you first try to run the program in compatibility?

I did a restore of windows xp home 64-bit but not recover my registry key.  How can I get the key?

There is no such thing as Windows XP 64-bit Edition.  OEM machines are supposed to have a sticker with the product key on the computer somewhere.  You never did a full backup or an image of the disc on another drive?  If so, the key can be retrieved from the backup or image.

  • Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 repair downgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit without uninstalling SP1

    Hello

I have a huge problem with the update of Windows-7. Installing and uninstalling any update of Windows-7-related (including SP1) fails. She always ends up in a loop configuration and restart + roll back. The error code in the Windows journal file is 0x80070BC9 for all updates. In addition, even when not install or uninstall anything, the system will enter into this every second reboot loop however and trying to set up the most recent update (failure).

I tried different ways to solve these problems, but all do not work, including the Fix It, KB947821 tools, and the procedure described here:

    https://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/Windows/en-us/b2727a81-BADC-4AD3-a9e2-336dc1bcaab1/Windows-Update-error-0x80070bc9-with-Windows-7

The solution described in the above link does not work because I can't delete the files in the System32\confix\TxR folder that I am supposed to do, even using unlocking of third-party tools (Unlocker 1.9.1), which is actually very weired.

So my last hope is to do a repair of upgrade (see the title). Unfortunately, Microsoft only allows me to do until SP1 is installed. Given that the uninstallation of SP1 will not work, I wonder if there is a way by fooling Windows suggests that SP1 is not installed by editing the registry. Can someone tell me if and how this is possible? I tried to change the registry in the files Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion and Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion and Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion and Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion to Windows 7 family Basique/Premium SP1 (which probably should allow to upgrade me to Windows 7 Professional), but still the Windows recognize that my system is Windows 7 Professional.

Well, I really hope you can help me.

    Best regards

    Thomas

Your best bet is to clean just install and start over.

    Hello

If the Synaptics driver is still installed (and continually reinstalls when removed), it may be easier to just disable the device, but let the driver installed - you can do the following.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.

In the run box, type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.

Expand "Mice and other pointing devices" and then right-click on the entry of Synaptics, select Properties, click the driver tab and then click Disable.

  • Downgrade from Windows 7 to vista?

I've heard say that if you buy Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit you can it downgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, up to what you want to switch back and use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. It would be useful for me because I run Avid Media Composer, and it is licensed to run on Vista Ultimate 64 bit at the moment. So if this was true then it save me buy vista and I could just buy Windows 7 up to greedy approved windows 7 for Avid Media Composer running. I really need an official answer to this question.

    Thank you

You heard wrong (unless the manufacturer of the computer tells you otherwise).

After graduating the .iso file, you use the Microsoft .iso to USB/DVD tool to create a bootable DVD or USB (requires a blank DVD or USB flash to at least 4 GB key).

or RUFUS allows you to use your existing Windows 7 DVD to create a bootable copy.

The USB key must be formatted in FAT32 and use the MBR partitioning scheme. To do this, you must use Rufus, a small tool that you can download for free.

    Rufus - credit: Pete bastard/Akeo

    After installing Rufus:

    • Launch it
    • Select the ISO Image
    • Point to the file ISO for Windows 10
    • Check create a disk bootable using
    • Select GPT partitioning to EUFI firmware as the Partition scheme
    • Choose FAT32 NOT NTFS as file system
    • Make sure that your USB in the device list
    • Click Start
    • Close when you are finished

    Begin the installation.

The following describes the standard way to start the installation, especially if you are in dual boot a 64-bit version of Windows 10 alongside a 32-bit version of Windows. Another way is to start from a version of runing Windows installation and select the partition where you want to install Windows 10. See below for instructions how.

For information about how to modify your BIOS options to boot from the DVD drive, see the following tutorial:

    http://notebooks.com/2011/05/05/How-to-load-BIOS-and-change-boot-configuration/

Once your computer is configured to boot from the DVD, you should see this option.

If you are installing from a USB key, see the instructions below how prepare your computer to boot from a:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-NZ/Windows7/start-your-computer-from-a-Windows-7-installation-disc-or-USB-flash-drive

The windows logo will appear on the screen, it could be here for a while, as long as you see the defiler, everything should be ok.

The configuration screen will finally appear, choose the time format and currency, then click on Next.

    Click Install now

Wait while the installation program starts

Accept the end-user license agreement, and then click Next

Click Custom install Windows only (Advanced)

Click next and wait while the preview moved.
