I want to install Win 8 home in a Virtual Machine
I intend to install the OS on a Mac, but the MS download site only allows you to download a setup.exe file and not the file ISO integer required by the virtual machine. How can I get a full installation file? I bought the software for download on the store and do not want to buy a DVD version. Can anyone help?
You need the full version if you plan to install on a virtual machine:
There is no full retail version of Windows 8. If you need a full version, you will need to purchase the Pro OEM Windows 8 of new eggs. To do this, install an own custom.

Windows 7 Home premium on virtual machine
Hello I have a Sony Vaio S series keyed pre-installed windows 7 Home Premium OA MEA with the product at the bottom of the unit, I bought a mac book pro, and I want to use the same version (downloaded the iso file) as a virtual machine, the question is can I use the same product key to activate windows on the virtual machine?
Hello
A license is a single Installation.
Even if you wanted to install this Windows 7 in a Virtual Machine on the Sony, you would need a second licence
And license information for the pre-installed on your machine from Sony OEM licenses.
If the computer/laptop comes with the preinstalled Windows operating system (Vaio from Sony, Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) or is licensed to OEM System Builders, that the product key that came with the computer/laptop is preinstalled OEM license and is not transferable.
OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, Sony Vaio, machines etc.) and the license OEM System Builders are related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when the machine that dies.
Only retail Operating System license that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.
And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time.

I want to install Win XP on Satellite A305-S6905
Hello.
I want to downgrade my Vista to XP because of problems and slow down my PC...
For example I can't download updates antivirus, games etc...I read in the forum that I need some kind of sata drivers and those I can do myself, but someone can help me with other drivers because I use this laptop for an hour and I know not what drivers there need.
If someone could give me links to the necessary software, I would be very grateful.
Thank you.
Hello
I think that you couldn't find the right drivers XP because you didn t find on the right-hand page.
Like you probably n t know that this series of laptop (Satellite A305) belongs to Toshiba from US and you have to find good drivers on Toshiba U.S. page!
http://www.toshibadirect.com/TD/B2C/home.toIn addition, if you want to install Win XP on laptop thin, you will need to install the SATA drivers first.
The SATA drivers are on Intel Storage Manager part which can be downloaded from the Intel and Toshiba page page as well. But if you don t want to install SATA drivers, there is another possibility to install the XP.
Just access the BIOS and set the compatible SATA to AHCI mode. That s it.

I want to install WIN 7 on my Dell XP computer. The disc I bought says that the hard disk must be clean first. The disc does not start on the existing XP. How can I do this?
Hello
Have you changed the boot order?
You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order and boot from the Windows 7 DVD:
How to change the Boot order in BIOS:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm
Do install a cleaning, removal of the existing XP partition and create a new partition to install 7 on in the own installation process:

If you installed the Windows operating system without using the HP recovery media, then you will need to download and install all the drivers missing/software separately.
Here is the link to the download page for your laptop: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5273741

I bought a lenovo desktop, which came with win 7 pro preinstalled via downgrade rights in win pro 8.1.
now my questions are:
- How to make a recovery to win 7 pro disc, that I can use if you need arises to reinstall win 7 pro. ?
- Since then, the win 7 pro is preinstalled, so how do I access the product key?
- What if I want to install win 8.1 pro on the same machine - product one key method to do?
Former title: windows
The instructions in the same article shows you how to restore the image if you need to do:
http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/24/how-to-backup-your-installation-of-Windows-7/
One of the things that I recommend you do so after creating the system image is to change the name of the computer to something else, so if you decide to create another backup system image, it's not too write the original. You can use this even as a method for having multiple images of different systems.

I want to install Win 7 Pro 64 bytes on Win 7 Pro 32 bytes.
I want to install Win 7 Pro 64 bytes on Win 7 Pro 32 bytes. I would lose my Microsoft Office 2007 and files, 3rd party software. If so is there a way to save them? How can I backup my Outlook pst. file? Is that all I have to do it before I try it?
You cannot go directly from the 32-bit to 64-bit. The best thing to do would be to create a new partition and install the 64-bit version in that. You will have access to the data on the partition of 32 bits, but will need to install your applications in the 64 bit one.
Good luck.

Can I install Win 7 Home 64 bit on Win 7 Pro 32 bit
Current running Win 7 Pro 32 bit, need to upgrade to 64 - bit and can not really afford to pay the Tagus almost $300 price for Win 7 Pro 64. What I peux/how to install Win 7 Home 64 bit on my machine? Do not really need the Win 7 pro feature.
You must perform a 'custom' / pure install the 64-bit version because there is no "Upgrade" path
This means that you must back up all your important data (Documents, music, photos, video, Etc.) to external media. In addition, you will have to reinstall your applications once installed the 64 bit version of Windows, so round up all the media application you and product keys before you start.
Also create an image backup of your version of 32-bit as a fallback option just in case there are questions.
Then, download the device drivers 64-bit on the web support site you PC from the manufacturer and burn them on a CD.
Now you are ready to start the 64-bit installation.
No need to buy the home Premuim
If you have a business retail or OEM of Windows 7 Pro version, you can download the. ISO file listed below, create a bootable DVD using Image Burn and then install the 64-bit version of Pro using your existing 32-bit product key located on the bottom of your laptop or on the side of the cover of a desktop PC to activate Windows by phone if necessary.

Download Windows 7 proper. ISO file (must match for your product key version)

(The steps are the same, except that you do not create a repair disk but complete an installation DVD)Note: Always use DVD + R media and slower burning (4 x or 6 x) speed is offered a choice.
====================== Keyless Install ================================
How to make a 'Keyless Install"of Windows:
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD disc, you create and launch the installation.
After entering the username and password you will be asked to: "Enter your Windows product key", do not enter a key.
Also located right underneath the box where you must enter the key is a box with a check box 'Automatically activate Windows when I'm online', remove the checkbox and click "next".You now have a 30-day grace period to activate Windows.
During this 30-day grace period you can try to solve your problems.
After you are satisfied with all the problems have been resovled then activate Windows.====================== Device Drivers =================================
Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number.

Cannot install VMware vCenter Server on a virtual machine
Hello world
I'm new to the forum. I try to install the vcenter server in a virtual machine.
Configuration of the VM: 10G VMDK, used 7G... 2G memory... guest operating system is win XP Pro.
When I run the Setup it says:
This installation package could not be opened!
I have attached a JPG of the error. Can someone please!
Kind regards.
64 bit is not supported as a host to vCenter operating system, see the compatibility guide posted above. I would try to mount the ISO using the client machine instead of starting from the ESX host, it could be that your DVD image is not good.

install win 7 home on the new hard drive on old Inspiron N5010
My daughter N5010 has a faulty hard drive I want to replace and load win 7 Home premium (it was what was on it when she bought new in 2010)
I downloaded an .iso of digital river and will burn on dvd for installation. However, the COA on the bottom is quite warn and I cannot read the product key, also, the barcode is also quite warn and cannot parse. hard drive, that I took out is dead, so there is not using the key of it. I have read several posts here and watched videos that will happen on google searches, but don't know if I'm getting good information. How I get the correct key to activate the operating system? did this on a new original hard drive different from the resettlement on the hard disc descriptions? I called dell support and told him a hard guy to understand that the downloaded .by don't work with this laptop, but I suspect he wanted to sell me a software warranty and new discs. Maybe it's correct? What is my best option here?
Thank you for your attention......<>
However the slp cert is identical for each single Dell system running with Windows 7 Home Premium factory settings or installed with a Windows 7 Home Premium DVD Dell reinstallation, you cannot back up your own files.
If you get a Dell reinstallation DVD, you will use the same activation mechanism. I have backup upward cert for each version of Dell for Vista and 7 as well all that you need to do is copy program to extract the ABR folder and run restore activation.

Hello
If you want to install Xp on your computer, you must change the Sata controller in the Bios, Compatible, otherwise, you will encounter a blue screen during the installation. It is because of AHCI drivers after installation, you can download and install Storage Manager and return to AHCi mode in the Bios. You can also integrate them Windows disk.
