I want to put the new directors under XP password

I received a tour of desktop Acer Veriton practical repair and update work on a tower. I want to upgrade memory RAM, add the improved memory and larger hard and change Windows XP to Windows 7. Also, I need to add new changing LAN network connection to WAN wireless.

I have a users account password and have begun my changes by trying to add a connection to network for E-mail and Web connections. The system tells me that I need a password for the administration to start this change. What are my options? Would be willing to wipe the hard drive and start with the addition of windows 7. Is this a realistic solution because I understand that that would set a new password admin for windows 7?

Hello

Thanks for posting the question. I've surely you will help find a solution on the issue.

1 are logged as an administrator to change settings?

2. you try to create a new network connection in Windows XP?

I suggest you log in under the administrator account to change settings. You will not be able to perform the settings and changes by using the standard user account. Therefore, you can contact system administrator for the password, and then make the changes.

Note: To define a new administrator password. You must have the former administrator with you password.

If you need perform an installation upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. You can perform a custom installation using the Windows installation DVD. You can also set a new password of administrator for the account.
