• Update BIOS A04 to A11 XPS 8700

  I want to update BIOS of his edition this A04 in the last edition of the A11 to be able to use a map to chart GTX 960 without bricking the mobo or otherwise run into problems. Responses already received made me realize that I must wait for others before deciding on a course of action that is based on the real experiences of the BIOS update. So far, I have received indications that sequential updates are preferred, but a jump of A06 A10 update has been completed successfully, as A11 is for Windows 10 and not kept him graphic GTX 960 use on Pro 8.1.   The Bios Update v. 3.2.8 error message. This computer is not supported"might appear because the DMI information that contains the name of the laptop and other details of s notebook is wrong.
  In this case the DMI must be updated.

  The other reason why you are not able to update the BIOS, it is this tool called common Modules is not installed on your laptop.
  So install it and check if you can update the BIOS

  Last but not least, the reason could be the preinstalled OS, I hope you are using Win XP in order to update the BIOS

  on this model you do not need to press F12 or another key. Just unzip the packege BIOS on a blank floppy disk, reboot the machine and make sure it boots from the floppy disk. The upgrade of the BIOS will be done automatically.
  Make sure that you have the power adapter plugged!

  You don't Flash the BIOS unless you get the upgrade for the BIOS of the page of CTO Quad Edition Notebook PC drivers HP ENVY dv6t-7300. Since there is no upgrade BIOS listed on this page, there is no way to upgrade the BIOS. Depending on the exact systemboard and the OS that is installed on your computer, the HP part number will be something like "682174-501", which means "Windows 8 Standard / 2.0 GB of discrete video memory / 45 Watt CPU.   The current version of my BIOS is: 786F1 v01.04 2007-07-18

  I am running Windows 7 64-bit Ultiate. I noticed on the page (linked above) software, it mentions most of the flavors of Windows 7 64-bit, but it does not mention Win 7 ULTIMATE 64-ditch.

  Here's what I did:

  (1) computer restarted in safe mode

  (2) connected as administrator

  (3) Task Manager began to ensure that all applications and most of the services have been arrested

  (4) double clicked on sp53611.exe and let it install the software.

  (5) This opens a web page. I clicked on the link which was under the Bio update to a windows environment.

  (6) the process has started, but then I got the above error.

  Any ideas on what to do next?

  There should be no need to update the BIOS, if everything is working properly.

  If you want to update the BIOS, you must use the built in Flash ROM of system menu in the BIOS.

  It is the safest and easiest way to Flash the BIOS.

  All you need is a USB stick formatted with the FAT 32 file system.

  Download the latest BIOS update, then run it.

  You should get a page of instructions.  On this page, you want the option F10 system flash rom and you should see a summary of BACK flash folder view.

  Copy all the files in this folder on your USB.

  Plug the drive into the usb port, restart the PC and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, press the F10 key to access the BIOS.

  There will be a menu to System Flash ROM

  What to choose and it should see the BIOS update files on the usb flash drive.  Then follow the instructions on the screen to proceed to the update of the BIOS.

  I just got a check for the BIOS on the support and downloads page and I found the inscription as "OS independent. This essentially means that the update is compatible with both operating systems.

  Remember that when you update the BIOS, you need ensure the power supply is connected, software security is disabled, nothing is attatched to (other than the power cord) system, power is turned off (such as screensavers), saving features and no other software is running. Also disconnect from the Internet, too, if possible.

  Also, you can find the update may not work if a BIOS password is set, if this is the case, you need to delete that, too.

  I am a happy owner of a 700-074 HP Envy computer. I have a question about a recent update BIOS I've seen on the software and drivers download page on the main site HP.COM. I frequently check the site for updates of drivers and software.

  The update in question is classified

  Update BIOS HP Compaq consumer desktop PC (SSID family ROM 2AF3)

  Although the ROMA family corresponds to the family on my computer, it lists the update of a HP Compaq computer.

  This BIOS does the 700-074 want system specifically? I guess it's because it it lists to the title of the download page for 700-074 want systems. However, I don't want to patch my BIOS with the update incorrect if it is considered an error.
